"Warm cosy and comfortable property with 'character' and in a good location for visiting Vézelay and area. Renovated and modernised inside to a good standard, with pleasant outdoor seating areas. Bring your own teapot if you need one! A useful bread van comes 3 times a week with baguettes. Nearest village shops (in St Père) are about a 10 minute drive. Neither our 'school' French nor the owners' English was good so the booking process via the web site emails wasn't easy. The whole booking process...

"My family of 4 stayed in this apartment/house in the middle of summer 2023, and had a lovely time. The house was neat and clean, and had everything we needed - normally previous guests leave behind a little oil and salt, pepper etc. (we normally rely on this and always leave things in return), however we weren't so lucky this time! "I was hoping for a few days of quiet in nature, and that is exactly what I got. I remembered what stars look like, fell asleep to the sound of a river, and read to my heart's content, warmed by a real fire. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and responsive. The cottage isn't too far from wine chateaux (about an hour) and a couple of ancient dolmens, not to mention the beautiful Vézelay Abbey (about 40 minutes), if you want to venture out."

"If anything the listing undersells the view from the house, it is spectacular and right in front of you. Walking around the old city is a rare pleasure, every corner you turn presents a comically gorgeous view; my friends and I felt like we were on a honeymoon. Our favorite meal in town was at nearby (everything is nearby) Le Saint Vernier and we got great inexpensive wine recommendations from l'Epicerie de Semur."

"We had a nice and quiet stay at Menno and Anne-Lise's lovely gîte in January, which we can really recommend. The fireplace kept us warm, we made delicious Burgundy meals in the well-equipped kitchen, the view was wonderful and the snow created beautiful scenes. Thank you very much!"

"This nice chalet is rather isolated. You really must love nature and forget a bit culture, although it's possible. But before reaching such places you must drive difficult small roads."

"Large property perfect for large groups. Easy to cater with plenty of equipment Large pool and wonderful gardens. Security and privacy were an issue with interior doors not closing properly and keys and locks not working. The host did send a locksmith to fix some of the problems. Beds and bedding a little tired . With some better maintenance on this property it could be perfect."
