This hotel is OK if you need to stay over for a night for the airport, as it is just a few minutes away. It is acceptable at the price, but nothing special.
Most of all, it suffers from the typical Ecuadorian style of over-promise and under-deliver. It tries to be all up-market, but then when we arrived, our room had been double booked and we were taken to a different building that the owners also have. Surprisingly, we had to pay in cash even though they had our credit card number. On arrival, there was no offer of "get your stuff into the room, have a cup of tea, and then come and sort out payment". No, dead tired we had to sit in the little office and fill in forms, wonder about the cash payment, wonder why the address details we were given in the first place were so bad that it took our taxi driver forty minutes to find the place.
We enquired about the promised breakfast and were told that there wasn't any. Too tired to argue the point, we just left it there.
Anyway, after having paid, we were allowed to schlepp our bags to the room ourselves.
The room was OK, except that the aircon unit turned out to be a noisy old thing, of the type that Australians call a "rattler" for obvious reasons. Ugh!
The next day we needed a taxi, and asked them if they could get us one. Yes, they could: ten minutes. Really? we asked. There are hundreds of taxis just outside the door.
Over promise and under deliver, Ecuador.
