It's secluded enough where you can leave the world behind if you want to, but there is plenty do eat and do within a short drive. There is a fabulous bakery and also an amazing restaurant within a few minutes drive. The property owners and hosts, Jose and Christine, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They were always available to answer every silly question I had, and were invaluable...

"The house is in a residential part of La Parguera, about a 15 min [not very picaresque] walk from main drag. It’s a quiet, very clean, spacious home, and the owner is friendly and helpful. Only complaint we had was the check in process- not sure if the error was on part of owner or VRBO, but apparently there was some confusion on owner’s part about check in date or something. Anyway, we did not get communications from owner, including access instructions, until after we had to contact him...

"Our family visiting from Texas and some of our locals’ stayed over to avoid the noises from NYE and have a pleasant overlooking at the sea. Casa Ballena didn’t disappoint. Starting with the quietness of the community, the gorgeous views, the lush landscape and well appointed interiors felt truly special. "Although the neighborhood and surroundings were run down and sketchy, we had a terrific stay!The interior is well decorated. Made us feel cozy and safe. "Javier’s property is a little gem in the Guayanilla Playa neighborhood. You can tell all the effort that he has put in on making sure the house is immaculate and that theirs guests have everything they need to enjoy the area beaches. He even got a beach umbrella for us! Javier is a great host, immediately answering any questions that we had, and giving us information about the area, so that we could make the most out of our stay. "This is a wonderful little house on top of a hill. The view is breathtaking. It's a curvy road to get here but it's definitely worth it. We cooked dinner in the spacious kitchen (for such a small house) looking out at the mountains. The appliances are modern and functional. The place is modern, well decorated and relaxing. The deck is a nice place to sit and read a book. There is a fire pit and wood was provided. We relaxed for a few hours in the hot tub and cooked some steak in the gas grill....
