Comfortable home with big deck, gas grill, pool & tennis

Hiker's Home

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

This newly remodeled home has a big deck and is near community amenities such as a shared swimming pool and tennis courts! Next time you take a trip to Yosemite, this is the perfect home base.

Situated in a quiet neighborhood, this home is three miles north of Groveland's shops and eateries. The Pine Mountain Marina, with its many entertainment options, is about four miles southeast. It's just a short drive of 27 miles to Yosemite National Park for some of the world's best hiking and most gorgeous scenery. Black Oak Casino is 28 miles north, and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is just 55 miles north.

On quiet evenings, curl up on the couch with a crackling fire to warm the room and watch a show on cable. And stay plugged in with folks at home, if you like, with the free WiFi access.

A pleasant kitchen with wooden cabinets is fully equipped for your cooking needs. Perk up in the mornings with freshly brewed coffee, then make a hearty breakfast to fortify you for the day's activities. When you're done preparing the meal, pop the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and enjoy the fruits of your labor at the dining table inside or outside on the deck.

Food always seems to taste better out in the fresh air, surrounded by swaying trees and singing birds. On sunny afternoons, catch some fish at the Marina and grill them on the gas barbecue for flaky perfection.

Six guests will enjoy this cozy home. There are two bedrooms, one with a luxurious queen bed and one with two twins. There's also a sofabed in the living room for a few more members of your party. With mini-split air conditioning in each bedroom, the living room, and the dining room, families and groups of friends on a hiking retreat will be very comfortable here.

There's plenty to do for outdoor adventurers in Groveland. Rent a horse from the community equestrian center and see the area from a new perspective, or traverse the area on hiking trails. You can work on your swing, whether on the golf green or community tennis courts, and the Pine Mountain Lake Marina is a great place to get out on the water. Go swimming or rent a nonmotorized boat or kayak from the marina, then take a break for a meal at the Lakeside Cafe.

A place of rare beauty, Yosemite National Park has brought inspiration to many artists. Bring along a camera or your sketchpad to capture the memory of your trip to this lovely place. Hike to Glacier Point for a great view, or take the longer trek to Sentinel Dome. If you're here in the winter, make sure to bring along your gear for skiing and snowboarding!

It's time to escape the city and the daily grind. Book this home today!

Comfortable and quiet
Comfortable home with a great view in a quiet area. Not many dvds or games but it wasn't important to us. wifi worked fine. Lots of privacy, plenty of space for our family of 3. The only issue was finding the house at night -- the driveway is shared by another home downhill and it took a while to find it. A map of the location and some info on going all the way up the driveway would have helped. Also, the steep section of driveway was difficult with a frontwheel drive in the rain. Grateful for a friendly neighbor who suggested we start back at the bottom and get a running start to get past the steep section. :)

Close to Yosemite!
The house was comfortable! Some dishes were dirty in the cabinet, bedding could use some updating, shower door is broken, carpets need to be cleaned, the kitchen sink had ants, the cooler remotes didn’t work in the living room and twin bedroom.

clean and cozy, nice balcony view
My friends and I stayed here during our trip to Yosemite. It was less than an hour of drive to the national park. The kitchen utensils are complete, and there are more spices than I expected. Love the view and the grill on the balcony. We felt relaxed after a long day of hiking. Definitely recommend it!

Looks like property was vacant for a while. When we arrived it smelled pretty bad, spider webs inside bathroom and bedroom curtain was broken which was inconvenient for the night. The grill outside was so filthy. When we had 1 hour before arrival we get an email that we would have to pay $35 just to enter the site, when we get there we were charged $40 and only cash. Ants were very where but I guess it was due to the extreme heat…. Maybe. Neighbors dogs will wake you up 😑

Perfect Weekend Getaway for Launching into Yosemite!
Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at the Hikers Home! We used this as our launching point into Yosemite for a few day hikes. It is about 30 minutes to the main Yosemite gate. The house was clean and perfect for our needs. They had updated cushions for the outdoor patio so we enjoyed sitting on the deck and BBQing! We also were able to enjoy the Pine Mountain Lake Marina. On weekends, you can easily just park on the street and walk down to the very well maintained grassy area, beach and marina with nice shady spots. There is a designated swimming area and a Marina store where you can buy floaties, sunscreen, etc! It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday before our drive home. The only challenging part is navigating to the house without going outside of the gated entrances. There are numerous gates that you need a key fob to enter (which you don't have as a guest). So you need to go to the main gate, and then do a rather roundabout drive to get to the house. Vacasa: please update your email to include the directions to stay inside of the gated area to get to the house. Directions that we used: - After you pass through the main gate, turn left on Tannahill Drive - Turn right on Pleasantview Drive - Turn right onto Mueller Drive - Turn right onto the SECOND Wells Fargo Drive (do not turn right at the first one) - Turn right at James Circle - Then the house is a little ways down the street on the right! Thanks again for a lovely stay!

Good location for access to Yosemite
We hiked for 3 days in Yosemite and since lodging options were limited, choose to stay here. Good news is home is roomy and can easily sleep 4 (6 would be cozy on the pullout couch). It is a 80 minute drive to Yosemite Valley Village (50 miles) - we went in Sept when there wasn't much traffic, so plan for longer on weekends or during the summer. Home is in Pine Lakes community (must pay fee to gate guard) for parking pass and about a 10 minute drive from main gate to the home. Don't follow GPS since it will try to take you a more direct route but you need a community gate clicker. Vacasa was not able to let us check in early & we had to call them to come clean a few areas. Vacasa was good about having extra propane available as we asked which was appreciated. We enjoyed eating dinners on the large deck, watching the deer and wild turkeys and admiring the full moon. Home feels a bit run down and could use a deep clean, carpet cleaning and newer kitchen items (only 1 wine glass). Overall is was OK but price seemed high for what you got.

Great location but hidden fees
Lovely for a 4 person trip. Location was great for us. Downsizes: Check in process is long as you have to check in at a guard box and get a parking pass. You also have to pay $30 per car to enter and obtain this parking pass. This is a hidden fee that the ad did not mention. We were a bit upset about this extra charge. Kitchen was fully stocked. Bed was comfy enough. House was warmed adequately. The toilet was the only tempermental thing. Nothing should be flushed in it. Not even toilet paper. not sure we would stay again after the extra fees. but overall we had a nice vacation here.

Nice, affordable get away rental home.
The house is nice, clean and in a large gated community. The house is a bit worn (old/cracked or chipping pots and pans, coffee cups, and cracked coffee pot, microwave etc). The home had some VHS videos with as well as old, very worn board games. There was a few DVD's, but we brought our own DVDs and games and solved this problem to keep the kiddos busy at night. Overall a nice little rental home. Only issues we had were the keys not being inside the lock box, and having to wait in the driveway for someone to bring them. But the 24hour emergency help saved us.

Convenient and comfy
We stayed at Hiker's Place for 5 nights - it is a comfy, no-frills home from which to explore Yosemite or just hang out and relax. It is located some distance from the main security gate into the Pine Mountain Lake community, but that also means you're in a quieter area. Tip: When leaving the house, turn right on Mueller and exit the gate to Ferretti instead of backtracking all the way through PML - this'll save you a good 7-8 mins of time. You'll have to come through the main security gate each time you return, though. The nearby Mar-Val market had pretty much everything we needed to make meals, though the house could use more silverware - our family of four had to wash silverware between meals. Some of the cookware needs to be replaced, too. Other than that, the house was clean, the beds were firm, but otherwise comfortable, and the A/C came in handy in July. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evening/morning and saw quite a few deer grazing on the property. The neighborhood homes were close by, but not on top of each other. We did not take advantage of any of the PML amenities - swimming, tennis, golf, restaurants - didn't have time. Yosemite Valley is over an hour away - it pays to research parking and the use of the Valley shuttle system, especially during the busy summer season. There are a few restaurants in town, which provided a break from meal-making on a couple of occasions. On the morning or our departure, the house power went out. I confirmed with the PML front gate that there was not an area-wide outage, then called the property management office for assistance. They did not have any info about the breaker box, and we could't locate it, so they put in a call to the local office, but no one came before we left. Despite this little hiccup, we had a nice stay at Hiker's Place and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for no-frills accommodations near Yosemite.

Just right!
The house wasn't too big or too small. It was an easy stay with my Mom and 2 little boys. We had everything we needed to cook, the BBQ was a great helper, the parking was easy, plenty of towels and linens. I love the lake and the kids love the rental boat! I would stay here again!

Very nice setting
We enjoyed the property, clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, and a quiet area. It was upper 80's to lower 90" all week and the air conditioner did not work. Every night we had to sit on the deck as it was upper 80's inside the house. Sleeping was difficult as you had to have a fan blowing on you as the temp was so warm. We would stay there again if the air was repaired as it was quite comfortable accommodations.

Yosemite Trip
The community had fun amenities but the house was very basic with no frills. It had poor lighting and the twin beds were very uncomfortable. The dryer did not dry our clothes even after over 1 hour of running. We brought streaks to grill out the first night but found the propane tank empty so we had to cook inside. They did replace the propane the next day. But I had called the week before to make sure there would be propane when we checked in because I had read another review that said they didn't have propane and we didn't want that to happen to us. We were assured there would be propane so we were very disappointed and inconvenienced when there wasn't any. Two Guys Pizza is very good!

Quiet place above all things...
Upon arrival there was a gift from Vacasa waiting on the dinner table. The house is comfortable though it feels a little cold in the evenings and at night. The sun streams in on the front porch in the mornings so make use of it! Over all it is a clean and amiable place. The kitchen could use some replacements: the water kettle is beginning to rust inside, there are a few pots and pans that are in still in good state, others could be replaced, other than that there was everything one could need.

Lovely, clean house unfortunately missing details
The spotless house and overall experience was marred by missing details. Not being able to enjoy the spacious deck in the evening or to use the advertised gas grill (due to insufficient working light bulbs and no gas tank) was a large disappointment. We couldn't even dial the support number because the landline didn't work and there was little cell signal. We had to scramble to find another way to prepare our planned BBQ. The house would have been perfect if everything worked as advertised. Hopefully those details are addressed for the next customer.

Nice place
This is a very nice house with friendly neighbors. It is located in the back of the subdivision so it takes a little while to drive to it once you enter Pine Mountain Lake. The beach area at the marina is a fantastic place for the family to hang out and enjoy the lake. The house is quaint and has everything you need.
