This was our second stay at this property. Fantastic time in a beautiful house in a stunning part of France. Situated in stunning gardens with fig and apple trees. Kitchen brilliant for cooking however fabulous restaurants only a short drive away.
Lovely venue for our family to share my special birthday. We particularly enjoyed the heated pool and space outside and loved exploring an area we haven’t been to before. Thank you Simon and Pip and Solen..
This property had all the extras to make us feel we had access to a friend's home. The area provided a lovely balance of country privacy and surrounding history of great interest.
Beautiful, incredibly well furnished and 'homely' house perfectly positioned to see the amazing scenery and attractions in the area. Canoeing on the river, visiting caves, walking through the beautiful gardens with stunning views across the valley all within a 20 min drive. The beds are the most comfortable we've ever slep in whilst on holiday in France!!!
The home is perfect, the grounds are exceptionally beautiful and the hosts are responsive and kind. We needed an accessible accommodation with bed and bath on the ground floor. The entire place is wonderfully laid out, plenty of space and books and dvds and games. The pool was just the right temperature and the kitchen was excellent.A very peaceful place to stay.
We spent two very relaxing weeks in this superb property. Great views, peaceful and lovely gardens. The pool was a great place to cool off and relax, particularly as temperatures soared in the second week.
We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful house.
The surrounding area is stunning and we had a truly relaxing holiday.
We particularly loved the extendable awning over the table in front of the house as it allowed us to eat all of our meals outside but shaded from the sun
Beautiful location & hosts helpful with every need
Beautiful house - close to bakery and convenience shopping; larger stores 10 minutes away in Domme
Pool a godsend for a 4 & 6 year old
Only request - more mosquito repellent candles around the outside dining area
There were 5 adults and an infant and it was ideal. Great location in the heart of a wonderful area and after looking around coming back to a fantastic property to enjoy our time in the Dordogne
Wonderful large, heated swimming pool. Beautiful, well tended gardens. All rooms a very good size suitable for family group gatherings. Extremely well maintained property and a home from home feel.
We had a truly excellent stay, loved the pool and gardens. We enjoyed the bird spoting and bbq. A great house for a family stay and exploring the beautiful surrounding villages, castles and canoeing on the Dordogne.
Pip and Simon were great throughout and very forgiving when I lost the house key.
Firstly amazing owners, super accommodating and very quick response to questions.
Lovely property which was as shown in the listing. Well equipped and furnished with lovely decor. Really suited the area and gave a real feeL of being in rural France.
The villa is in a fabulous location. It is well and tastefully furnished. The kitchen is easy to use, the beds are comfortable.
we loved the birdlife and the red deer. The swimming pool figured hugely in our enjoyment.

A charming spot in Dordogne
Delightful grounds: flowers galore, diversified well kept plantings. Well furnished charming house, with great kitchen and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Kids (and adults) loved the pool and its open views and appreciated the ping- pong table as well. Close to Sarlat and the Dordogne river and so much beautiful scenery. Hosts and local contact were very helpful, providing everything you need for a very enjoyable stay.
We love this place and this was our second visit , it’s so peaceful set in beautiful surroundings . The villa itself is decorated in cool warm tones you are provided with everything you need . Including an additional out door eating area with the gas barbecue. For us it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind but with all the amazing towns close by to explore . Fantastic !

Another great holiday !
This was our 3rd stay at this beautiful chateau , we throughly enjoyed our time embracing the peace , solitude, beautiful surroundings and the amazing views.
Dome and Sarlat are both within easy reach and have an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants .
We have used both Limoges and Bergerac airports from the UK, and find Bergerac, the easiest drive to the property so far . It is such a beautiful part of France , I would highly recommend it !
We had a wonderful week staying in this tastefully decorated, well equipped, idyllically located house. So many beautiful towns and villages to visit just a short drive away and plenty to do around the house. The heated pool and table tennis was a big plus for the kids who were kept well entertained all week. We were also lucky with great weather during the day and impressive thunderstorms at night. We would definitely recommend to others
Thank you to Pip and Simon for sharing their wonderful property with us for our holiday.
There was ample room for six adults, two babies and a couple of small dogs. The house has everything you could want and really is a home from home and is beautifully furnished.
The pool and associated pool house and BBQ area are really excellent and allow for long leisurely lunches and relaxing by (or in) the pool.
The location is ideal for exploring the Dordogne. Just 10 minutes to Domme, 15 minutes to Sarlat or Roque Gagneac. There is a really good boulangerie, butchers and Spar supermarket just down the hill (5 mins) in Grolejac for morning requirements and top ups while the hypermarche is easy to find on the road into Sarlat.
Overall, we had a fantastic break and would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.
A warm personal welcome from very friendly owners, Pip and Simon.
La Chouette is everything and more than we had hoped for. Attention to detail and quality of furnishing is excellent. We found it difficult to pull ourselves away from the house to enjoy the fabulous Dordogne, but when we did, we enjoyed beautiful scenery, amazing canoeing and great restaurants. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Lovely property in a central location for exploring the Dordogne.
As a family of six, we spent a week at the property and all felt we could have stayed for longer. The house offered plenty of room for us all with loads of outside space. The children particularly enjoyed the pool, where there are plenty of sun loungers to soak up the rays.
The house is well positioned for small journeys to nearby towns. Sarlat and Domme are well worth a visit particularly on market day.
We would definitely like to return another year.
Beautiful home and gardens in a lovely part of France
We very much enjoyed our family holiday - including small child and dog - at La Chouette. The house is spacious, beautifully appointed, and superbly equipped. The gardens and pool are a particular highlight, our only sadness is that the weather was not on our side to take full advantage of them during our stay. Pip and Simon were very helpful beforehand, left a clear information pack, and their property manager, Steve, was also really helpful during our stay. The house is well situated, in beautiful countryside and a short car drive from some beautiful villages and interesting sights.
We travelled all the way from Australia to spend 10 nights in this beautiful property. We had high expectations and it did not disappoint. The house, gardens and pool are wonderful; the perfect place to relax and unwind after a morning of exploring the surrounding areas. The green book they provided with local recommendations was invaluable, we tried many of the restaurants mentioned and also the activities- all of which were fantastic. We were very happy to meet Simon and Pip at the end of our stay, they very kindly let us check out when we were ready..as we had a lot of packing to do. Lovely people and a lovely home. Thanks so much to you both!
Simon and Pip, (the Australian ones)
This is a beautiful property in a very quiet, idyllic part of France. The photos give a good idea of what to expect, but it is honestly so much better in reality.
There were only 2 of us, who wanted a place to get away from it all and this was provided in spades. Completely private off a very quiet lane with just wildlife keeping us company. The salt water pool is much bigger than expected and very clean - as we arrived the first day of a long heatwave, we made very good use of it. There is a lovely summer kitchen with unobstructed views of the countryside if you don’t want to leave the pool area.
It is obvious that this is Pip and Simon’s home and not just a holiday rental as it feels like a home and everything you could need is available.
For just us 2, we couldn’t ask for more, but both inside and outside space would be perfect for families.
A charming house generally well equipped (apart from only one pillow and one towel each) in lovely location. However, there was a serious problem with the drains smelling very badly in upstairs bathroom and downstairs bedroom which affected our enjoyment of the holiday. Not nice having to try and hold your breath whilst taking a shower! The manager came and put some drain unblocker down the pipes but it made no difference and is obviously an ongoing problem with the amount of air sanitizers in shower room!
