This place isn't all its cracked up to be
This rental was very lackluster. For the amount of money, including the very high cleaning fee, I expected more. The location is close to downtown. However, there isn't a sidewalk, so you walk down the road in the bike lane. The cobwebs and spiders in the bathrooms were unsettling. There was not one personal touch to this rental.

Great location!
Loved the location of this house. Plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 children (3 & 5). The yard, fire pit and dock were great! The views of the lake were amazing! Our issues came from the cleanliness of this home. It was disheartening as we all unpacked and noticed these things. Considering the cost and length of our stay (7 nights) we found this to be unacceptable. We found two vacuums and cleaned the rooms. One vacuum wasn’t working very well. Here is a list of things that we noticed; - coffee left in the pot - trash left in the trash compactor - spiders webs in almost every corner of the ceilings and floors of the rooms & bathrooms - dried contacts left on nightstand - empty draws in the kitchen & upstairs bathroom dirty with hair and other crumbs - handprints on the windows and sliders - soap residue left in the showers - one of the showers wasn’t draining so we couldn’t use it. Used draino but only helped a little. - dust on surface of furniture in upstairs bedroom I’m wanting to share this as I feel the cleaning company did not clean anything. Not only is this a negative reflection on the cleaning company, but it is also on the rental company. We are here to enjoy our vacation and not spend time cleaning on the day of our arrival. Overall this bummed us out because we took time on our vacation to clean instead of enjoying the beautiful property and lake.

Great for adults… wouldn’t bring toddlers
I will be giving this property a three out of five stars. It was a great house, great location, easily the best house to entertain with! I’m giving this three stars because of a couple reasons… There was no comforters in one of the bedrooms, but they did come and bring them the following day. There are many spiderwebs in the ceiling corners of the master bedroom and in the hallway going upstairs and in the kitchen. Probably my biggest thing about this property is that my two year old could fit through the banisters on the main level. I would not bring a toddler or a baby to this property again. We had to make sure someone was with my daughter at all times to make sure she did not fall through the overly large gaps between the banisters. This is a great place for adults though! The management we communicated with were very nice to deal with and brought us what we needed.

My family and I enjoyed staying at this property. We all agreed that we would come back. Pros: 1) location is only a short 5 minute walk to town where you can shop, get coffee, or dine. 2) the house is large and has several great spaces that can accommodate big groups: dining room, 1st floor bar room with couch, lower level bar room with couches and chairs, and in kitchen dining table. 3) a large grassy back yard is great for lawn games, relaxing in the sun, or playtime for kids. 4) the dock is great and we were all able to fit on it (6 adults, 1 child) to enjoy the lake views, swimming, and sun. 5) the swimming area off the dock in clean. No real debris in the water to speak off. The lake has a rocky bottom and it didn’t bother us to go in without swim shoes. Cons: 1) I did not feel that the listing shared accurate information about included property amenities: towels, linens, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwater detergent etc. (By the way, all included. Ample toilet paper and towels as well as a small dish soap, and dish water tabs). 2) Property manager was not easy to communicate with and did not have answers readily available when I called the contact #. The individual I spoke with could not confirm if the kitchen was stocked with dishes and silverware, kind of important information to know. The kitchen does have this and more. 3) Screen door on 1st floor to deck is still broken. I think I saw this mentioned in reviews from a year ago. 4) Overhead light in lower level bedroom with shared bathroom does not work. 5) Tub in shared bathroom on lower level does not drain well. The tub fills with 2-3 inches of water while showering. 6) House does not have AC. This is clearly stated in listing. However, house also does not have fans for each bedroom. 2nd floor master bedroom has ceiling fan and a floor fan. Lower level bedrooms did not have fans, no ceiling fans either. It was VERY hot while we were there. The lower level bedrooms were over 80 degrees at night and do not get good air flow through the windows. We were able to find one other working fan in a closet. Fans are absolutely needed for all bedrooms if it is warm out. The upstairs master bedroom, with fans, is extremely hot. 7) The refrigerator/freezer was not cooling properly. Our ice cream was like a milk shake. 8) The dryer doesn’t dry well. We were able to notice some permanent marker on the settings indicating which to use which seemed to help.

Perfect Family Spot
Overall the property was as expected from the online listing. There were 2 small things that needs fixed initially, but the management was very responsive. There was no place to hang up towels or swim suits in the bathrooms. Access to town was perfect. Access to the water and lake views was tremendous.

Home is set up great! I wish there was a second room with bunk bed option. Owner needs to remove old TV's in living rooms and replace with new smart TV's with apps. Get rid of Dish that does not work. You will save money and less aggravation for your tenants. We ice fished and the home has no real pace to place equipment. Wish there was a basement area of shed.

Reunion of 8 High School buddies, all 65 years old. We try to take a trip each year.
Wonderful trip in many ways. We stayed for three nights and days for an Ice Fishing trip in the Great North Woods of Maine during the Blizzard of '22 that dumped 16 inches of snow on day 2. The house is just up a slight hill from the shoreline, easy enough to climb with the snowmobiles we rented in town and certainly easy to walk up and down in spite of the recent snows; Very clear views of the lake from the house, too. The house was very clean with all necessary provisions to just show up (after buying our groceries locally) and to kick back, relax and take in the beautiful surroundings of Greenville, Maine. Plenty of new well built beds, bathrooms and space for all of us to be comfortable. We were disappointed that the decks were not shoveled and the grill was buried in snow, but we had plenty of muscle in the house to take care of it. A family with young kids might feel differently, though. We all agreed we would come back anytime in the future to this beautiful location and this same house.

Poor communication and property needs TLC
Just know you are renting from a management company with poor response time. Several questions we asked before the trip remained unanswered. The house is in need of quite a bit of attention. One example is the dishwasher is not attached to the counter so when you slide out the racks it tips forward. The layout of the house is odd. There is a fireplace but it's in a place with no seating, so you can't enjoy it. The town and people of Greenville are very nice.

Do NOT stay here
Literally wish I could give a 0 for the first and last questions. First, let me start off my saying this is the 1st review I have done and our two families have stayed in VRBO homes for the last 4 summers — last year was also in Greenville. The good stuff — the lake is gorgeous, the yard is flat for the kids to play, there is ample parking, it’s close to Town and the private dock is super. Now, the rest. Where do I begin? Generally, the home is in dire need of some serious TLC. It’s filthy — ever room, every deck and the exterior too. There are two downstairs showers that are literally ridden with mold—we purchased a shower curtain for the shared bath because the BLACK mold was all the way up the curtain. The top bunk in the kids room was literally wet —we didn’t investigate with what! There is visible DIRT on the windowsills and the entire place was musty and had an odor. Day 1, we actually purchased our own cleaning supplies and spent hours cleaning it. We contacted VRBO and we were told we could leave and get a refund for the unused days which was hardly reasonable. Despite a 2019 review about the couch and VRBO’s response that the owner was buying a new one, that has NOT happened. It is so degraded we had to cover it with sheets to keep pieces of it from off of us. No door closes, there are full habitats of bugs, spiders and filth in the windows which, when opened & wind blowing off the lake (which was lovely) blew crap into the house. The TV in the downstairs part didn’t work and none of the tv remotes had batteries so ... another expense for us. The entire home is DARK. The main light has 4 bulbs to light the large stairway and only 1 worked. It was super dangerous for the kids; the dining area has 4 lamps, none worked. The downstairs bedrooms only had one light working in each and the living room had overhead lights or non at all. The “fire pit” as the ad proclaims is literally half of a small burned pot with rocks; we were told firewood was supplied, but there were only 3 WET pieces by the woods’ edge. The outside chairs are moldy and stained; the picnic table is chained to the deck so it can’t be moved. The grill doors are broken so the propane sits on the side of the deck near the door — another danger! We also lost power 3 times and only ONE of those times there was a storm. The internet didn’t work, ever. We wish we could get our money back because we are questioning doing business with VRBO ever again. Seriously disappointed

Property needs attention
A couple of the main reasons we chose this property was for the Jacuzzi and the Foosball table-neither were working when we arrived. After reaching out to management-they sent a repair person over and the Foosball table was fixed, however the Jacuzzi couldn't be fixed while we were there. :( There were several lights throughout the property that didn't work and the gas fireplace in the dining room filled the room with horrible fumes, so we turned it off and opened all of the windows on a very cold day. The view is beautiful and the property with some maintenance would be very nice. For the amount of money that we paid, it should have been in better condition than it was. Please make sure if you are looking for a Jacuzzi to relax in that it is working and hopefully your stay is a better experience than ours.

We'll Never Be Back
This is the first time that I have ever left a review for anything. However, some of the issues on this property were so egregious that I couldn't help but make sure that anyone else renting this property knows what they're getting into. There are many pros to the property such as privacy, proximity to town, great yard, nice fire pit and plenty of space. Now to the cons. There was an uncapped LIVE gas line that fortunately we had an LP technician with us and he took care of the problem at his own expense. Fortunately he found the problem before any of the children curiously turned the valve. The dishwasher is not secured into the island and falls all the way out each tim you open it. It could easily fall on a small child. The shower in the basement had about six inches of water each time someone took a shower. The banisters are so far apart in places that we had to get rope and put them all the way around as the spaces are big enough that a small child could fall through. Our child is 2 and a big 2. She would have had no problem fitting through and falling to the basement floor. The leather sofa in the main living area is literally falling apart. There are pieces coming off onto you and the floor each time you sit on the sofa. If we were paying to stay in a lower end house, maybe some of these things can be excused. Some can't, especially the ones that put people in danger. For the premium that is being charged for this house, there are far superior properties to rent. We may rent from Vacasa again as we've had positive experiences in the past, but this is a property that none of us will ever return to.
