"Dont let the exterior fool you. Our room was really really nice! When we first pulled into the parking lot i felt deflated by the exterior. 3 poor qualities were the very old musty smell, the loudness of a slamming door each time someone went out to smoke and finally our room was on the 3rd floor with only a winding staircase that we had to drag everything up. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and attractive. Coffee bar in room was well stocked and plenty of toiletries. "

"This was our 3rd time at John Carver. Reception was excellent. The location is awesome, under 10 minute walk to the waterfront, and shopping, dining, breweries and entertainment. Our room was clean and quiet. But walking down the corridor about 10:30 at night, some rooms with kids were very loud for that time of night and I was thankful we weren’t adjacent to them. The inn has an indoor pool, so there was a very strong smell of chlorine in the public areas, but not our room. Nice recessed lighting in the room, mini frig and a keurig. Plus CJs restaurant is accessible via an indoor hall from the hotel. Bed comfy enough, good water pressure in shower. HVAC system good as well. "

"Our room was next to the street so traffic noise was a bit much and the next door neighbors loved slamming door, car and room. Size of the room was fantastic and had two good size fridges. No ice while the office was closed made us sad. Had to drive to a store for ice? "
