"Good bedding and comfortable bed , nice modern bathroom . Good bar restaurant area downstairs. Down sides are the rooms are very small but fine for a 1 night stayover . Rooms very badly need a paint and tidy up as very scuffed and worn but clean and had everything needed for a night . "

"The electric wall heater had stopped working, my room therefore was very cold on arrival. After asking reception about it I was given a small plug in panel heater which gave off a little heat, unfortunately with bei g in the end loft room it did not warm up sufficiently"

"The Westgate was easy to find and there was parking around the back of the pub as the town seems to have limited parking. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. The location is a 5 minute walk to the shops ."

The location of the hotel was perfect in the centre of Bury St Edmunds with the addition of free parking. The breakfast was good and the portions excellent. We had drinks at the bar & all the staff we dealt with were great. Thank you for providing a very comfortable stay in Bury St Edmunds."
