The address was confusing because I assume the owner lived at the address on the listing, but "The Lodge" was about 1/4 of a mile down the road from the house address listed. There was also no cell tower available, so you could only text with the WIFI. However, the Lodge was remote, VERY peaceful and Quiet, large and open and tranquil. It was also away from any kind of traffic or any neighbors.
We had a group of friends and family staying for a ski weekend, and The Lodge was perfect! There was plenty of space to spread out, but also a living room area in front of the fire place that felt super cozy. Comfortable beds, large dining table, plenty of hot water and a fire to warm up after skiing, and a casual feel...couldn't get better any better than that.
Make sure to get specific direction for getting in, as the address isn't a pinpoint location, but it's well worth the trip to have such a spacious house and property around it. We are planning to come back over the summer when we can enjoy the outside areas more. Thanks for a great stay!
This was an older hunting lodge in the woods, many game mounts and antlers, we thought it was very cool and certainly unique, close to Holiday valley, we had a great time.
We had two families spend a week here and enjoyed every minute of it. Plenty of room for 9 people and the pond was big enough to enjoy our kayaks and paddle board. Margie was great to deal with and we will back at some point in the future.
This is the ideal spot to get away from everything (including cell service). There is plenty of yard to play games like cornhole/can jam etc. The cabin had plenty of space for 8 adult men - large main room with 4 couches and tons of outdoor space. We also loved the stove, plenty of burners and a flat top section was great for breakfast.
We really enjoyed the property. We only wish we had more "quality wood" to burn in the fire pit. We used it sparingly due to lack of quality wood. We shall return next year!
A secluded spot with plenty to do. The pond was perfect to keep the kids entertained, either fishing, swimming, or jumping off the rope swing. The trails are pretty well maintained and worth the time to walk them. Overall we had an amazing time with friends and family.
We had a great time at the lodge. Its very large and roomy. It rained most of the time unfortunately, but we had board games and all kinds of stuff there too keep us occupied. Ended up being a great time bonding.
We brought our kayaks and enjoyed the pond. Didnt try the ropeswing this time, but i will on the next trip. Gas grill came in handy. Great firepit. Overall great time. We will be back
We had a wonderful time at The Lodge. Enjoyed relaxing with family and friends. Having fires indoors and out, walking the property and just overall a nice place to have a family get camp out. My 3 year old grand daughter didn't want to leave and wants to know when we can go back.
Our stay at the lodge was great! We enjoyed the remote and spaciousness of the property. The never ending trails (beautiful,) the huge yard, nice pond, and roomy house fit our family perfectly. We had all ages stay for my step-dads 50th birthday and everyone enjoyed there stay. We especially liked swimming in the pond and hanging around the campfire at night. I would definitely recommend this property - the owners were so nice as well!
We had a wonderful time staying at this perfect remote location. The cabin was very large and the property was amazing! That pond is so peaceful! A few recommendations to anyone going to visit in the future- bring your own camping chairs to sit around the fire. Other than a picnic table there is no seating. If you have small children, bring nightlights! The cabin is pitch black at night. I also felt that I had a difficult time communicating with the owner. It took a very long time for responses and when it came close to the trip I had no reply from leaving a voicemail asking for a call back. I finally had to call again and Margie was extremely pleasant to speak with. But, there was some very important details about the property that should have been addressed without me having to track the owner down. Like- the actually directions to the cabin - they are a little different from what is listed , how to get inside the place and the WiFi password. The linoleum should really be washed between guests. Also, the dumpster on the property seriously needs to be addressed. It was very full when we showed up and the bears broke in to it WITH the bungee cords still attached and we had placed rocks on top! We had to clean up other guests garbage in the morning and it was very disgusting! Even with any minor issues we would return to this place in a heartbeat! Other than the floors, the cabin was fairly clean! It was very relaxing and we had perfect summer weather to enjoy everything the place had to offer!

Relaxing
The location is very private and peaceful.
Although twice neighbors showed up on Atvs, to fish and drop off trash, which threw us off. It was wonderful to listen to the quiet, except when neighbor ran chainsaw for hours. The cabin is big but could be cleaner. Cobwebs, lightbulbs out, floors were dirty upon arrival, screens are ripped, mouse in bedroom. Couches are comfy, table huge, deck amazing. My favorite part was the swing overlooking pond and sound of nearby stream. My kids loved catching newts in pond. My husband loved rocking chairs. Address delivered us to neighbors house which we were not expecting. Wish there was instructions for grill, tv, stove, fireplace. Overall nice stay.
Margie was a great host and her description of the property was pretty true. Perfect for large group. Only thing I would note is that there is not a washer/dryer for wet snow clothes. Also there is No WiFi or cell reception at all. You have to get in your car and drive up the road to get service. This was not clearly noted in description.

Fun by the Pond!
We loved our stay for the most part the key was not on the counter as we were told it would be. So couldn't lock up when leaving for outing . And I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness I pulled an extra blanket and pillow from a shelf in bedroom and it was full of mouse poop!🤨 so house cleaning is poor!! Other than that we enjoyed it. Lack of phone service or landline was a problem as we had children who are young and could be injured anytime.
Loved the area, very secluded and peaceful. Great pond with bird watching and serenades by the frogs. The cabin could have been a bit cleaner, cupboards, and stove need a good cleaning, and there was a musty smell that lingered. I could tell there was a lot of history in the place and that gave it charm. The front porch was perfect. It would have been helpful to have a reference binder with info on operating stove safely and how to access cable. There was only one porch light that worked which makes those arriving in the dark for the first time a bit more challenging . Still had a wonderful family time. Great table i kitchen with room for all and then some.

Weather took over!
Still a pretty nice Lodge and almost everything was ready for us upon arrival. Only spent a few hours outside as it rained almost the entire time of our stay. Looking forward to returning again next year and hoping for better weather!

Country seclusion
Everything was good and reasonably priced, the land and the property were super nice . The property was well taken care of. Cooking on the oven was a little sketchy . But the cabin was pretty nice overall. No cell phone service or WiFi , perfect getaway in my opinion !

Perfect family place!
What a lovely time we had! House is perfect for big and loud family gatherings! We all loved the big fireplace and burnt a lot of wood that was provided for free! Thank you Margie!
Our little ones 3,5 and 7 felt very comfortable and adventurous running around playing hide and seek!
And the adults survived 5 days without internet, in fact all enjoyed the “no cellphone” time... it meant more talks and more games!!
Ride to the ski hills takes 15 min, no problem!

Second time around
3 generations of our family stayed this year. The property is great to let the kids explore and play outside and plenty of room inside when the weather doesn't cooperate. We were able to get all 12 family members around the kitchen table. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The 2 bathrooms with showers made everything easier. Our only negative is the configuration of the bedrooms; they didn't fit our needs.
We enjoyed swimming and fishing in the pond and I could have sat on the porch all morning.
We took a side trip to Griffis Sculpture park this year. The scenery was spectacular.
Our youngest family member was fascinated by all the animals hanging on the wall.
