Cabin w New Hot Tub, River/Kayak, WiFi, & Fire Pit

Summary:
Tranquil Nights Mountain River Cabin retreat is the perfect getaway for your family, friends or small group!

The highlights:
- Relax in our private hot tub
- Cozy up around the firepit
- Play Board Games (we have 20+)
- Kayak on the river with private dock access
- Grill on our large deck
- Stream movies or make video calls on the fastest WiFi you can get in WV
- Drive 20 mins to Berkeley Springs for amazing restaurants, shopping, and year round festivals

The Space:
Our large, family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for groups large and small. This open floor plan features two living areas, a fully stocked kitchen, large screened in porch and wraparound deck, propane grill, fire pit and can accommodate 10 comfortably.

The cabin includes:
- 3 bedrooms + a large basement sleeping area (1 Queen, 2 Doubles and 2 Twins and a bunk bed)
- A huge wrap-around deck with a propane grill and screened in porch
- Fully stocked kitchen
- Private outside hot tub that comfortably seats six
- Kitchen with a dishwasher
- Central heat and AC (it gets hot outside in WV in the summer!)
- Wood fireplace and wood pellet stove to keep you cozy at night
- The fastest WiFi you can get in the WV mountains (18 Mbps)
- Downstairs ping pong table
- TV with dozens of movies, DVD player, and Apple TV
- Plenty of books and board games to keep everyone entertained

Outside you’ll find:
- Relax in the hot tub
- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang
- Kayak and 2 SUPs ready for you by the river

Our cabin also has private access to the Cacapon River, just a quick 3 minute drive away. The river is perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing -- and is very clean and clear. We have one kayak and two paddleboards for you to use that we keep stored at the river from spring to fall.

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

Note: a maximum of 6 adults are able to stay at this property, per the regulations of our cabin's HOA. Larger groups with a mix of adults and children are able to stay here -- up to 10 guests total. So if your group is > 6 people and includes children, that's totally OK! Please let us know so we can leave enough towels. Thank you!

Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are. You have all the amenities of living in the mountains, but you're also only 20 minutes from the city of Berkeley Springs. The town has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, and the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint.

The Neighborhood:
Tranquil Nights is just south of the city of Berkeley Springs, and feels like a world away from everything. The cabin is nestled in the Cacapon Mountains right near the Cacapon River.

We love the river! We often go swimming, tubing and fishing; it's perfect on a hot summer day.

About a 15 min drive from our place is a small local brewery, Berkeley Springs Brewing Company. They're constantly churning out new beer (literally every week); we're big fans of their IPA and sour beers. They also have a smoker with fantastic BBQ!

Getting Around:
There's plenty of parking on site. We're about a 20 min drive from Berkeley Springs.

Interaction with Guests:
Tony can be reached via cell/text during your stay, and a property manager can be onsite for any issues that arise.

Cozy Weekend Getaway
My friends and I had a wonderful, cozy weekend retreat in the snow! The hot tub was so much fun and the s'mores ingredients were a nice welcoming touch. The owner was very responsive to any questions and allowed us to check out late due to weather conditions.

Great vacation
We had a great stay at the Nut House Cabin. It was clean and fully furnished with everything we needed. A good home base for our trip to Harpers Ferry, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and Berkeley Springs. The hot tub was a nice perk after a busy day sightseeing. We did not use the lower level bedrooms as our family of 3 didn't need the rooms, but they appeared to be nice. We loved being able to take the family dog. We would definitely return if in the area again.

Was nice quiet place
Was what i expected, quiet, clean, private. Hot tub was very nice clean. I would warn anyone expecting to be "connected" internet is DSL. But you pretty much don't want to be online. It rained a lot filled the creek, wonderful to hear while on porch.

Quiet Cabin in the woods
The property was as pictured, secluded, comfortable a serene location in the woods. The property management and communication was outstanding. And he cabin had everything you would need there and it could certainly host a family. For a rustic cabin it was great and serviceable. One minor complaint (and we realize we are being just a bit picky) the furniture and fixtures were a bit worn, the beds just a bit uncomfortable and wobbly. We enjoyed the location and it was just what we needed - but a little TLC would improve the experience immensely.

The Stress Cure!
What a wonderful stay! The nut house was the perfect cozy cabin, just far enough outside of town. After a day of hiking (Paw Paw tunnel hike was stunning in the snow), the warm fire welcomed us. The Nut House was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We cannot wait to return, as we left perfectly relaxed and happy to return to the daily grind. The owner was friendly, down to earth, and accommodating. And ( as a "clean freak") I was more than happy with the cleanliness of the cabin. Thank you for opening your rustic retreat to us! We are so grateful.

Well equipped, private cabin.
The Nut House is a very private house. It is extremely well equipped, including the makings for s'mores. It has a very nice screened in porch. Marie was very helpful and responsive to our needs. It was a little further from Berkley Springs than we anticipated, but really posed no problem. The only critcism I have is the dampness. The lower level would probably not be good for anyone with ashma or other breathing problems. We enjoyed our week there.

Cozy, private, great space!
Marie is an extremely responsive owner and answered all my questions promptly. When a problem came up she immediately fixed it and refunded a portion of the rental fee. The house is great- we had a fantastically restful couples weekend and thought about bringing our kids here in the summer to kayak, hike, roast marshmallows- looks perfect for laid back family fun. It was bigger than we two needed but the hot tub under the stars was heavenly and well worth it! Also, I cooked a lot over the weekend and was impressed with the quality of the kitchen equipment. The 2 wood stoves added a lovely touch - great for a winter weekend.

Update to my Cozy Weekend Getaway Review
The reason for my previous 4-star review was that we found the check-out procedures a little stressful, but the owner has assured me that she plans to revise her lease based on our feedback. I appreciate her willingness on that front. Also, one friend dropped her cell phone and the owner generously let us know and is making plans to get it back to her. We really appreciate this extra thoughtfulness, and on top of the cozy cabin, beautiful views, and hot tub, I'd love to upgrade to a 5-star review.

PERFECT 😁
No other word than “perfect”.......definitely recommend this property for a weekend getaway or even longer...... I wish we could have stayed about 10 more days. We arrived a little early and ran into the cleaning crew. We spoke to a Very respectful young man who let us know he would just be a few minutes until he finished...... we were fortunate enough to get an unofficial tour of the property from him. I have been in direct contact with the owner for weeks now and she is very responsive and helpful no matter how small my silly questions were😂😂..... we will be back

Ideal Ladies Getaway
We planned a ladies getaway at the Nut House and despite some snow and a long drive, we had a great time at the Nut House. The cabin as a whole is cozy and nice, very well-maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies, the hot tub was a huge hit, and we spent several hours cycling through everything the game cabinet had to offer. Having stayed at several cabins in the area, I will caution that the check-out procedures and a la carte charges for things like unwashed towels and dishes are more extensive than typical of the properties in the area. We spent 3+ hours working through them and barely finished everything. Fortunately, Marie was flexible when we had an issue with the dryer and did not charge for damp towels hung to dry.

Nice, quiet, peaceful property
We enjoyed our time at The Nut House. The house was nice and clean. We unfortunately didn't have the best weather and it rained our whole trip so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub or the fire pit. We lost power for one day but the owner was very nice and helpful keeping us updated on expected time for it is be fixed. We had absolutely no cellphone service which was peaceful but a problem when it comes to all instructions about the cabin being on the internet and email. We were unable to view any instructions. Also with all the rain, the lower gate was closed (the only gate we knew about). We spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how to even get to the upper gate. I think there should be some kind of directions inside the cabin (perhaps hanging on the refrigerator) letting you know what to do it the gate is closed.

Secluded escape with the family
The Nut House was everything we hoped for and more. First, I cannot say enough good things about Marie. She was a wonderful host from booking until checkout. She provided all the information down to the last detail. Nothing was left unanswered. The power went out during the afternoon of our first day. I called her and she contacted the power company and got the power restored in minutes. the house was immaculate, and fully stocked! My 4 kids (ages 10, 8, 7, & 3) and I had a blast walking down to the stream and running through the woods playing hide and seek. Even though the house has wifi, TV, Netflix and apple TV, we never used it. Instead we took the opportunity to unplug from the outside world and spend some quality family time. Played board games, Uno and ended the nights with a soak in the hot tub. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer. I can't wait to book our next visit. Thank you Marie for being a lovely host!

Hot tub problems... but great costumer service and a great time nonetheless
My wife and I were looking for a last minute, romantic hot tub getaway when we found this place. Marie, the owner, was super quick responding to me. I was booking the cabin the day of and VBRO's system really struggled with that. Fortunately, Marie was available to help me and made it work. A few hours later we arrived! Finding the key (located at a different location as the cabin) was easy and the cabin itself was easy to find too. The cabin was clean and wood was stacked and waiting. Unfortunately, the hot tub stopped working on us a few minutes after jumping in. We weren't able to get it working properly again the rest of our stay. That was disappointing... but Marie ended up discounting our stay quite a bit to make up for it, so that was incredibly nice. And since the hot tub wasn't working, that prompted us to explore the natural hot springs in Berkley Springs. That was a fun experience that we both enjoyed.

Relaxing spot
Pros: Enjoyed staying at the property. Family enjoyed the peace and quiet. The screened in porch was particularly enjoyable, and the kids enjoyed going down to the little creek in the backyard. The river access was a nice perk. The hot tub and new grill were in great condition. Cons: There was a dead mouse in the basement. It was pretty obvious it had been there for awhile and that the cleaning staff tried to mask it with Glade plug-ins. Once we found it and cleared it out the smell in the basement quickly cleared as well. There were no kayaks or canoes at the river that were associated with this cabin. The shed was a complete mess, and while it contained several rafts and floats the pump was missing critical components. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom sounded like it was about to fall on us. Also, received texts from the supposed owner during my stay. When I complained about the kayaks, he told me to ask an attendant for help but I’m pretty sure there are no attendants that work at the riverside. That and numerous spelling errors makes me wonder if this text service is contracted out. All in all, it was a fun stay but not all as advertised.

Basic Escape to the Woods
We had a great stay at Tony’s place! It was easy to check in, directions were thorough, and location was just what we were hoping for - off the beaten path and in the middle of the forest. The cabin itself is cute, but very basic and in need of some repairs and updates. The dishwasher does not work, downstairs electrical was spotty, and lacking in the finer touches that make a place feel more personal. However, it really did have the fundamentals of what we wanted in a quick getaway - great fire pit, hot tub was clean and working, and plenty of games for the whole family. We’re appreciative of the pet friendliness, too! Would definitely return.
