A Victorian Rose provides a unique and memorable experience for all ages! From one to one hundred, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you are a couple seeking a romantic get-away or a group of friends wanting to gather, we are perfect for you! Honestly, why stay at a hotel, motel or bed, and breakfast when you can rent our entire private, beautiful Victorian for less and stay in style? We also allow up to two well-behaved pets with pre-approval & extra pet fees.

Have you been planning a romantic weekend for two or a reunion with family or friends? Do you have an upcoming wedding? Have you considered renting a home for a wedding party or visiting family? Guess what? Look no further... You've found the perfect vacation home for your family or friends! A Victorian Rose!

We are available for Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, and we love to decorate to add to the festivities. You may leisurely stroll to Downtown Cornish Christmas or visit neighboring Nevada City, only 4 miles away to enjoy their beautiful Victorian Christmas.

Families have stayed at our home as they celebrate the life of a special family member who has passed. Our home is comfortable and welcoming, especially in times of grief. We offer privacy, unlike hotels.

Of course, quilting, scrapping, and wine tasting groups are always welcome, and they may set up in our "Man Cave" or "Quilting Cove." We have had groups stay for a week. Amazingly, a couple of the groups come back a couple of times each year.

We are located in the Downtown Historic District, within walking distance of Main Street and Mill Street(0.3miles). We have plenty of parking compared to many downtown vacation homes. We're about 2 miles from The Empire State Mine, 1.3 miles from The Nevada County Fairgrounds, and about 4 miles from Nevada City.

A Victorian Rose is a luxury four/five bedroom and two bath home. Each room is uniquely decorated with antiques to add to the charm.

We have an inviting lovely parlor, a modern and fully equipped kitchen, a sunny breakfast nook, a formal dining room, a comfortable family room, a laundry room with washer/dryer & ironing board & iron, a Secret Kid's Room, a fun recreation room or 'The Man Cave' with Foosball, poker table, TV, VCR/DVD etc....Fun for everyone!

Let me tell you more! Quilting and scrap-booking groups arrange their tables and use "The Man Cave" as a workshop. On the back deck, there is a warm, hot tub and seating. We have a propane BBQ, complimentary WiFi, quality linens, and towels.

We're located in the Sierra Foothills, in the Historic Downtown District of Grass Valley, and centralized to many great outdoor and indoor activities and only minutes from Nevada City. We are in the heart of the Gold Country about one hour from Sacramento or Lake Tahoe, right off Hwy 49 in the Downtown District of Grass Valley.

Nearby are museums, golfing and biking, cultural events, County Fairground activities, antiquing and specialty shopping, wine tasting, great theater, art galleries, excellent dining, musical entertainment, movie theater, Grass Valley and Nevada City walking tours, The Empire Mine State Park, swimming and even playing in the snow or skiing aren't too far away! The list is endless. I highly recommend checking out the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce before or during your stay. Don't just stay, play!!!

There are numerous fine restaurants in both Grass Valley and Nevada City. You could grab a quick bite at one of the fast food places, and of course, you must try a pastie, a Cornish meal the miners used to bring into the mines. Safeway is nearby and makes it easy to purchase foods to cook up something homemade in our well-equipped and modern kitchen.

A Victorian Rose is a completely restored Victorian and perfect for a romantic getaway weekend, a small wedding, a family vacation, a scrapping/quilting weekend, a memorial celebration or just a fun retreat for you and your friends!

My family visited Grass Valley for a wedding. Victorian Rose met our needs perfectly. A well-appointed home with everything we needed and located in a nice neighborhood very close to downtown. Catherine gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and things to do and was available to answer any questions during our stay. We loved both Grass Valley and Nevada City.

We had an awesome time staying in the Victorian Rose for the first two nights of our honeymoon. It was more comfy and homey than a hotel and we just relaxed and enjoyed the Christmas feeling in the local area.

My group was very impressed with this gem of a property. It had all the comforts we could imagine, and more, and was in pristine condition. Great spot- spacious home
We stayed for a multi-family long weekend get-away. Not only does the house comfortably sleep a large group, it also has a plenty of space to socialize. Very well appointed kitchen and lots of great perks like hot tub and game room. Easy walk to downtown Grass Valley. Host is very communicative and provides super clear check-in/out instructions. Plan to go back!

Wonderful Stay
Our group of women have known each other for many years. We try to have a retreat every few years just to catch up and for a few days love on each other, pray for one another and just relax. This cute little home was just right in that it had a lot of antiques and very nice furnishings. Everywhere you looked there was nooks and crannies and antiques. It really fit the bill for all our needs. We’re already reserved for another longer stay in the fall.

Travelling from Australia, my 13-year-old daughter and I made our home at A Victorian Rose for several weeks. We found every possible amenity, quality fixtures, and beauty in every inch of this doll's house! We were visited by friends and family, and we all left with many happy memories of A Victorian Rose, Grass Valley, and our friendly and efficient host, Catherine.

My family & I loved staying at the victorian rose. we were in town for my daughters wedding, It was a wonderful place to relax between wedding parties and such, My brother the preacher and his wife really loved the porch in the early mornings to read and drink tea. The bedrooms were fabulous my younger daughter and her husband loved the upstairs red room with the feather boa!!!! We had a couple of great trips to the yuba river to cool off. I really want come again. Thankyou so much Karen Newberg

This was our first time at "A Victorian Rose", and it was perfect. Our family gathered for an early Christmas celebration, and to our delight Catherine had the entire place decked out with Christams cheer. Each room had a pleasant decor, and we enjoyed hanging out and dining together. We were 8 adults, three children, two Golden Retrievers, and 6 dinner guests; yet we had plenty of space. The kitchen is especially roomy with all the modern conveniences, and still maintaining a Victorian charm. We were preparing meals for 10 to 14 people, and the kitchen became an enjoyable gathering place. We will certainly keep "A Victorian Rose" on the "A" list of the places to stay in Grass Valley. Stayed at the Victorian Rose for a weekend with 10 other people. The house was convenient, handled our large group well, and had PLENTY of character! Shoutout for having the flexibility to leave some bikes in the garage after checkout - gave us some piece of mind while we were off adventuring.

A Victorian Rose definitely lives up to its name. It is quaint, elegant, and modern all at once, creating a comfortable environment while adding the charm of the Victorian era to the furnishings. A Magnificent Wedding and Lovely Homestay experience
We were in Grass Valley/Nevada City for our daughter's wedding. We needed a "refuge" from the constant excitement, a gathering place for family members and a "workhorse" of a prep/cooking/organizational headquarters for our role in the large and extravagant wedding weekend. We found all of this at the Rose Victorian! The best was late at night and early in the morning...coffee or wine outside on the front porch, shoes off, feet up, chatting with family and relaxing before getting ready for the next round of work and excitement. This house such "good vibes" and homey, happy, comfortable aspects. Plus, it has an amazingly well-stocked kitchen! Catherine was amazing to work with. We plan to reserve the Rose Victorian again in the near future and loved every minute of our stay there.

Home away From Home!
The Victorian Rose met all our needs for our trip to the area for our niece’s wedding. If we forgot to bring something, Catherine had it somewhere in the house! The location was perfect for walking downtown to the restaurants. Although we weren’t at the house much, we enjoyed a movie from a cast selection of VHSs and got ready to nostalgic music using the turntable. The house cooled down nicely with all the AC units throughout the house. Catherine checked in us via text to make sure we were comfortable. Even with the cars, there was no issue with parking. Love the Victorian Rose!

Fabulous Stay!
We were at the property for Thanksgiving. The homeowner was so sweet, thorough and generous. House is very well equipped for cooking at home. Super cozy, close to town, very quiet and plenty of room for a large group. So nice to find a clean home, and one that would take our doggies. We will be back!!
