The cabin is minutes from downtown Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. Situated above Shadow Mountain Lake, this property offers the ultimate retreat with scenic beauty and activities suited to all ages and abilities.

Our beautiful deck with ample seating is a delight from morning through evening. Moose, Elk and Hummingbirds frequent the property. The kids will love the creek and adventures to be had on along the boardwalk through the wetlands. There is a firepit right off the deck for toasting marshmallows or hanging out.

This 3 bedroom house with 2.5 baths is situated in a beautiful aspen grove with gardens, lake and mountain views, a private creek and a fire pit. The house is decorated in a mountain motif with hand-made, locally constructed aspen and pine furniture.

The dining room seats 7 and has amazing views of the mountains and the lake and our beautiful setting. There is additional seating for 3 at the kitchen bar. The family room has seating for 6, a wood stove, a TV with Dish programming, a DVD player and speaker with Bluetooth connectivity for your music device. The kitchen has top of the line stainless appliances and is stocked plenty of cookware and service for 8. Also stocked with spices and staples for cooking and food storage.

The master suite has awesome lake, mountain and aspen grove views and a private 5 piece bath. The second bedroom is a bunk room with 1 bunk bed and an additional mattress if needed to sleep 3. The third bedroom has a queen bed and for additional sleeping the living room has a memory foam queen sleeper sofa.

We have a carport for parking along with two entrances to the property from both county maintained roads! Plenty of parking for boats or snowmobiles!

Minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park and Downtown Grand Lake. Boating, kayaking and paddle boarding rentals nearby. Marinas are close by as are picnic grounds and abundant shopping and restaurants in nearby downtown Grand Lake. Grand Lake offers hiking trails, biking trails, a golf course, cross country ski track and wildlife viewing. Snowmobiling is permitted in the winter. Grandby Ranch ski area is right down the road, and about 40 minutes away is Winter Park ski area with Colorado caliber skiing.

Wonderful getaway!
This was our first trip to the mountains and this house did not disappoint! Plenty of room for the whole family indoors and out. Great view, comfortable beds, well stocked and great location. We will definitely be back!!

Family Fun
It was a beautiful home with amazing finishing touches, stocked with everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable. It was surrounded by so many fun things to do from a 30 minute trip to the hotsprings to sledding hills with restaurants and shopping in town to ice skating on the lake. There are also snowmobile rentals in the area and cross country skiing. The views from the home were amazing!!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

We’ve been raving about this stay. Such a great house. A great location, great views, great tub, great dining table, great games, spices, condiments, utensils (even a straw cleaner! What other VRBO has one of those?). There was coffee (we brought our own), coffee liners, awesome cast iron cookware. The list goes on. One area that could improve… Some dust in the throw carpets. My nose knew it. But I got used to that and the rest was 6 stars. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect in Every Way
We make an annual trip to Colorado and this is the best property we have had. The house itself was so relaxing that we could have never home out and still had a great vacation. The location was perfect - nearby access to the lakes and trails we experienced. This is the first property we have used that we are hoping to rent yet again. Highly recommend!

Great cabin!
My family (4 adults and 2 kids) had a great stay at this house. It has all the "stuff" you need in a house and feels very homey, and is very comfortable. Great location near the lake, and there's some interesting walking areas right from the cabin door that my kids loved. Would stay again without hesitation. We also left an iPad at the house and the owner was so nice to mail it to us, she went above and beyond.

Every aspect of this rental met our expectations. Kitchen was better equipped than most other rentals in our experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Grand Lake and RMNP. So lucky to have visited before the wild fire evacuation of the area.

Overall the property was great. Worst part was the garage because it smelled of cigarettes and dog.
The property served our purpose well, and the kitchen was fairly well stocked. Could have used more silverware and plates. We had to run dishwasher after every meal. Overall, we would probably stay there again

Felt it was overpriced. Master shower to small . Male 5’9 and weight 175 could not turn around in it. Party of 3 adults, 2 late 70’s and 1 late 50’s shared the guest bathroom. No placemats or napkins. The wooden blinds had not been cleaned in quite some time. Positive comment was the view of lake was great.

Convenient and comfortable place to stay while enjoying RMNP
This house was the perfect lodging for my small group as we enjoyed a few days at Rocky Mountain National Park. We drove from Denver through Estes Park so we could enjoy the scenery along Trail Ridge Road on the way to the house. This rental was close enough to town to make finding food and gas very convenient. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and even found ourselves enjoying the porch late one afternoon after too many days of hiking left us all feeling exhausted. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the champagne and chocolates that greeted us upon our arrival. We also took advantage of the ping pong table in the garage and my tween son was satisfied with the wifi and cell reception at this property. Our only surprise was the realization that we were responsible for trash removal upon check out. This required a drive to a local trash facility rather than leaving the garbage on the curb for pick up. This probably isn't inconvenient for most visitors but we had a 5am departure to catch an early flight out of Denver. Just noting for any city dwellers (like myself) that have never encountered this before. I'd stay again.

Beautiful, comfortable home
We had a really nice stay at this home in Grand Lake. It's very modern and cozy. We especially enjoyed the master bedroom views of the lake and the wooded area surrounding the house. Having coffee on the porch in the mornings was a nice treat. POSITIVES: -Location--it's close to Grand Lake while still being quiet and surrounded by lovely trees and a small stream running through the property -Nice bird watching (thanks for the hummingbird feeders!) -The fire pit with wood available -Comfortable beds -A ping pong table and board games to play -A bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us when we checked in NEGATIVES: -This isn't the fault of the owner, but we felt the housekeeping and overall cleanliness could have been a bit better. The shower had a bit of hair in the drain and the glassware in the kitchen was dirty with lipstick and other grime. We had to clean some dishes in order to cook a meal. -The bathroom toilet downstairs had a cool automatic flush feature, but the sensor seemed to be glued on but was barely hanging on. We were worried about it falling in the toilet. -While there were some good games available to play, there wasn't a basic deck of cards which would have been nice. -There was a large pot for cooking pasta in the kitchen, but it didn't work with the induction cooktop. We made due with the smaller pot, but we had to cook spaghetti in multiple batches which was an inconvenience. Overall we would definitely return. It's a great property in a beautiful setting. The owner was very communicative prior to and during our stay.

Let me start off with the "annoyances" * NO ac - so it's a touch warm in the summer. Not horribly, and gets cold at night, so windows open helps here, and NO one there has AC. Not generally needed. * The toilets. They're built for kids OR the one in the master has... no door so the entire master bedroom is visible. They work, just... my wife and I all had to go downstairs unless we wanted to watch each other at bad moments * The mosquitos. You really are RIGHT next to a little creek so the mosquitos are bad - NOT the fault of the property, just... bring bug spray in the summer! * A few minor things with the house itself - e.g. the kitchen sink faucet needs replaced, no water pressure, some headaches on some of the pots/pans (use the cast iron - it's actually non stick), etc. OK now for the good, which is the VAST majority * You are 10 minutes or 15 minutes to the park. The west side has a ton of great trails and it's CLOSE to them all * You have a set of AMAZING views of the lake and mountains RIGHT outside all the windows * Plenty of sleeping room - the kids fought over who got bunkbeds in the one room, queen in the other. Small but very comfortable * The kitchen is well set up. As in nice dishes, the counters, cabinets all gorgeous, easy to cook a good meal * The dining room - I am trying RIGHT NOW to find a copy of that Xplorer map of RMNP - and the views when sitting at the table ARE AMAZING. The dining room can easily sit 10. ETC. Could go on and on!

Perfect mountain getaway
The cabin was perfect for our family of 6. There was plenty of room for everyone, everything was clean and carefully stocked, and the location and views were amazing! My husband and I loved sitting on the deck at all times of day and night, and the kids were thrilled with the ping pong table and game closet. This is the perfect starting point for a day in RMNP, or just for hanging out in Grand Lake. We didn't have any issues during our stay, but the host was very responsive as we were preparing our visit. Everything in the cabin was laid out clearly and easy to access. We are already trying to figure out a way to come back next year!
