Lovingly restored townhouse in the heart of the historical quarter of Granada, the Albayzín. Ideal for a romantic self-catering holiday. Located on cobbled walking lanes in the midst of the historic district, this cosy home enjoys uninterrupted views of the Alhambra from the terrace, as well as vistas of the Sacromonte valley beyond from the balcony in the lounge. The house is comfortably furnished and equipped, to offer a good standard of accommodation. It provides ample space for couples and families alike. Located in a pedestrian precinct of the historic quarter, it is just 2 minutes walking distance from the cafes and restaurants of Plaza Nueva (the city centre), as well as local craft and gift shops which line the nearby streets.

Wonderful stay
It’s the second time that I’m visiting Granada and the second time I am staying in the beautiful Casa Maurice, always with the same pleasure and enjoyment. Granada is a marvel and deserves that travelers take their time to explore it beyond the famous Alhambra and the Cathedral.

A great choice.

Fantastic authentic Spanish house
An exceptionally warm welcome from the lovely Nadia, the local contact. The house has a great location and has everything you could possibly need. Amazing view of the Alhambra from the balcony. One bedroom is noisy to the early hours as is adjacent to a public square but a very all downside to a wonderful stay

Lovely base
This house was absolutely lovely - wonderful roof top terrace with great view of the Alhambra - however, the oven takes a lot of time to cook things because the oven doesn't shut properly the fuse struggled to cope with more than electrical appliances on at one time. The hostess was helpful about taxis and how to leave the house and how to unblock a drain, but she was concerned about how we would manage the house because we were young clients. We were in fact trustworthy. Overall it was really lovely in the old town.

Incredible Granada
We really enjoyed our stay in this old house in the Albaicin - old Granada. We loved sitting on the roof terrace, taking in the views of the Alhambra as the lighting changed. Nadia was very helpful and gave us a lot of information. The place had everything we needed, and was comfortable. We were able to walk to good restaurants and wonderful view spots and other sights. Two things for visitors to be aware of: every room in the house is on a different floor, so we had to go up and down stairs constantly. Also it was easy to get lost in this area of winding alleys and streets. There is no access to the house by car, only on foot. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Granada!

Medieval Magic
Our week in Granada was made all the more wonderful because we stayed at Casa Maurice tucked away in the medieval quarter. So handy to everything, clean, cute and comfy. The view was a delightful suprise and so beautiful in the evenings. We had a memorable wee feast out there. Air con was great as we were there when temps in 40's So to come back to a cool house and cooler shower was fab. Other travellers info in the guest book was helpful too. loved the area and the local bar (near the square) at bottom of the Casas street has wonderful Flamenco (very cheap). All in all a great place to stay and feel like you live there. So much better than a hotel. I hope I can stay there again and will refer to Maurice all those heading to Granada Thank you for adding so perfectly to my adventure

Fantastic medieval apartment in the heart of Granada
Extremely pleased with our stay. The apartment has an authentic, medieval feel and is located near the river just below the Alhambra. A square-spiral staircase leads from the entryway at the bottom, past bedrooms and bath at various levels up to a dining/family room. A balcony there provides a great view up the valley. A small staircase leads on to a well appointed kitchen. Beyond that, another small set of stairs leads to the roof, from which you have perfect view of the Alhambra. The layout of the property is really cool: a vertical apartment of five small levels. Very cozy and pleasant. Nadia, our host, was most gracious. We met her at a cafe which was fairly close to the apartment. If you are arriving by car, like us, do not attempt to drive to the apartment! (or cafe meeting spot) There is no parking nearby and a wrong turn can send you on a near-infinite tour of medieval Granada!. Park in the nearest garage and walk! (This may be obvious to many, but hey we're Americans). The apartment is minutes from the main square, 15-20 minutes to the Alhambra, and a good starting point for exploring old Granada in any direction (all times for walking). Nadia took the time to orient us and point out places of interest and practical amenities. We ran into her many times as she and her family frequent the area.

Toller Blick zur Alhambra
Schön restauriertes altes Haus in Albayzín. Es hat alles, was man braucht. Einmaliger Blick zur Alhambra von der Dachterasse. Der Warmwasserboiler in der Küche ist leider defekt und auf der Dachterasse gibt es keinen Sonnenschirm.

Die Lage ist Top, alles ist in kurzer Entfernung zu erreichen. Man solllte allerdings gut im Treppensteigen sein, im Haus und auch in der Altstadt. ;-) Da man in jedem Fall sein Gepäck mehrere hundert Meter über holpriges Kopfsteinpflaster und Treppen befördern muss, sollte es nicht zu schwer und am besten auch gut tragbar sein. Der Blick von der Dachterrasse auf die Alhambra ist toll. Wir haben hier oft gesessen, zum Frühstück, abends bei einem Glas Wein. Manchmal hatten wir sanfte Gitarrenmusik vom Mirador hinter uns als perfektes Ambiente. Das französische Bett ist etwas schmal und man rollt in die Mitte. Die Wand in der Dusche müsste dringend renoviert werden. Der Kontakt mit Nadia war sehr nett. Sie hat sich bestens um uns gekümmert. Sie spricht aber nur spanisch. Die Wohnung ist perfekt, wenn man eine zentrale authentische Unterkunft sucht.

Fabulous special house!
This is a fantastic unique authentic property with great atmosphere reflecting the vibrant historic neighbourhood. We felt so lucky to be there. The house is so well equipped it was a real home from home! The icing on the cake is the roof terrace where we spent a lot of time - sunny even in November! Nadia was so helpful and kind and Maurice very responsive. We couldn’t have wished for more- we will be back!

Great location, great views
We had a wonderful stay at your lovely town house in the Albaicin. The views of the Alhambra from the balcony and the roof terrace were fabulous. We were across the street from a popular viewpoint so there was some sounds coming from there but that is to be expected if you stay in the historic center. Our bedroom at the back of the house was always quiet. The house was clean and well stocked with everything needed. Though we had a transit pass, we never used it. We walked everywhere, including to the Alhambra, about a 20 minute walk from the house. You need to be able to do stairs if you stay in the Albaicin. Communication with Maurice the owner was prompt and responsive. Nadia, our host, was a gem. She told us the best place to park prior to arrival, showed us the house, and helped arrange a cab to the airport at check out. Thanks very much Nadia!

We fell in love with this place!!
My friend and I absolutely loved our stay at Casa Maurice! The view of the Alhambra and the old city is breathtaking! We enjoyed the rooftop terrace multiple times each day. We loved staying in this beautiful, updated historical home. It felt spacious and cozy at the same time, was in the perfect location (in the old town, but right next to the new town), and had all the amenities we needed. As others have noted, the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at times, but both my friend and I were able to finish our work for the week (we work remotely). Nadia was a gracious and responsive host. We would love to return again and again!!

Excellent séjour dans une maison à caractère dans le magnifique quartier d'Albaicin. Les équipements ménagers sont anciens mais fonctionnent. Ce n'est pas une maison qui s'adresse à des personnes tres âgées rencontrant des problèmes pour se déplacer car elle est toute en hauteur. Nadia, l'agent, est adorable et très réactive..
