We loved the little place!
We were informed, as the description details, Mon Soliel is in need of an update. Knowing that, we booked it for the location and the opportunity to bring our pets. (which we decided not to bring) It looks exactly like the pictures and does indeed need an update. However, everything worked satisfactory and the five gallon water dispenser was definitely a plus. Our goal was to relax and enjoy the nice beach and water. The property provided lounge chairs and plenty of beach towels while we provided our own beach umbrella. The beach is gorgeous, especially at low tide, and rivals any of the top Bahamian beaches which we’ve stayed. Martha, the property manager was responsive to needs and questions. The property is a short drive to town for groceries or restaurants or a short drive the other way to Tippys. The property next door hosts larger groups and so there were others around the beach next to us most days. Except for the group there our first night, who was leaving the next day … we didn’t mind the other groups at all and noise was not an issue. Visiting the out islands comes with its own set of “inconveniences:” the power goes out daily, the internet can be intermittent or out for a day or three, the roads are narrow with potholes and the drivers have a different etiquette. Rental cars are not pristine. Meals and groceries cost 50%-100% more, especially after taxes and gratuity. If you come with proper expectations, visits can be extremely enjoyable and relaxing.
