We were told upon check-in that we had been upgraded to a superior room, which was apparently the same type of room we originally booked. When we arrived, the room had multiple housekeeping issues, so we went to the front desk to address it. After explaining the situation, they moved us to an executive room, but unfortunately, even that room had cleanliness problems. The whole experience was disappointing, especially with the lack of consistency in room quality and cleanliness. Hoping for better management of these issues in the future.

This hotel is let down by INCREDIBLY SLOW service at the front desk. Takes like 10-20 minutes to check each person in and even when there’s a queue there will be like one person manning the front desk. When you have a simple question you have to wait ages until someone is free or someone finally comes out from the back office. Not sure if they’re just short staffed. We turned up in the afternoon around noon to check in. We had booked a junior suite with a king bed (based the images it should have a separate seating area etc.) and we were told we would have a room facing the front so we would have a view of the see the station and parts of the city. Gave our passports etc. xlbut was then told our room wasn’t ready, in-fact none of the suite rooms were ready as they have limited numbers, so we left our bags so we could check in later. When we came back, we queued for about 15 minutes, then finally got served. We were with the front desk operator for a good 10-15 minutes in silence. He kept going to the back office, done this about three times without telling us what was going on until eventually he gave us our room keys. We get to our room and he’s assigned us a junior suite facing the inside of the hotel main area with two single beds. I was furious as this is not what we booked. Luka kindly upgraded us to a Corner Suite after my complaint. Best thing about this hotel is the location and spa. Total relaxation in the spa, friendly staff and facilities.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Gothenburg. Very clean, lovely decorations, just a really nice hotel. We got upgraded and was lucky enough to be on the top floor with a balcony! The views were amazing and we were bought a fruit bowl on our first day which was a lovely gesture. Only fault was that housekeeping seemed to be at a different time each day, which made it difficult to be out of the room for them to clean it. Overall a brilliant place to stay and would definitely come back!

Quite unremarkable and costly by comparison
We booked the suite , although at this level of property it was barely more than a normal room. The suite was on the backside overlooking alleyways. Furniture in living room was of the dorm room ikea style . Nothing you can get comfortable on. Breakfast was very average and completely self serve including the coffee. For $500 a night I thought this was overpriced . You can get reasonable 5 star properties for the $750 to $800 these days and this was a heavy 3 star all day .

It was a nice property. The rooms are basic but clean and big. My only complaint is how money grabbing the hotel feels. Pay to visit the spa, pay for early check in, pay for late check out - everything was about money. There wasn’t even a spa discount for hotel guests. That being said, I would stay here again because its a clean hotel central to most things, but just be aware of how money grabbing it is.

Good hotel but could improve
The hotel is clean, modern and very well situated in the centre of Gothenburg, within walking distance of the main shopping centre and easy reach of all transport links. Our room was okay, sufficient space and well laid out but small things were missing or overlooked, i.e. no shower gel in the shower dispenser and the drinking glasses were not changed regularly. Our biggest gripe was that we had specifically booked a room with a Queen sized bed but when we entered the room it only had 2 singles. We did complain, but we were told that the room we had booked was already allocated and that no more were available. It wouldn't stop us from going back but, as we had booked to stay for 4 days, it would have been good to have been given the room we actually paid for.

I would highly recommend this hotel, Its the best I’ve stayed at and I’ve travelled a fair bit, the rooms are huge and clean and the service is exceptional. The location is perfect too as you are close to everything and transport links are right on your doorstep.
