"Because of the area being high touristy there are some unsavory characters hanging around nearby. The resort is peaceful, off resort is high pressure vendor sales. The sunset views are spectacular. The resort is clean."

"I needed a place to stay overnight on a layover in Dakar. This was the wrong choice. The address you are given does not match the property location on Expedia. The staff who helped me was as sweet as they come but we couldn’t communicate. No lock on the bedroom door, and you are locked in the property. I ended up leaving and going elsewhere. "

"Really enjoyed my 3 nights here and I found it very relaxing. Staff are great, really helpful and very friendly. The setting is great and people in the surrounding area are great. The lake is fascinating as are the salt harvesters. The only negative point (for me) is that had I been travelling with a partner I would have wanted slightly more privacy in the toilet! (The toilet is the other side of a wall from the bed but this wall doesn't go up to the roof... and there isn't a door! British...

"I arrived to be informed that they no longer take online bookings and therefore my expedia booking was invalid. They said that they maybe could organise a room for later that evening but I would have to pay cash immediately if I wanted it. I left and found an alternative and have applied for a refund. The staff at the hotel were friendly but very clear that if you online book they doi not consider it a reservation."

"Lagon 2 is an excellent hotel and one of the best choices in Dakar. The location on the water is very beautiful and the hotel is very comfortable, clean and the staff are all very gracious and helpful. The air conditioning works well and the room is spacious. The breakfast is very good with beautiful views to start your day. The Lagon 1 restaurant nearby is excellent with very good seafood. Goree island, Senegal.

From the 15th to the 19th century, it was the largest slave-trading centre on the African coast. Ruled in succession by the Portuguese, Dutch, English and French, its architecture is characterized by the contrast between the grim slave-quarters and the elegant houses of the slave traders. Today it continues to serve as a reminder of human exploitation and as a sanctuary for reconciliation.

"A clean and well-kept hotel with a very efficient and conscientious staff in every area. Rita is an exceptional person and extremely good resource for help in any area. I was well pleased with my 8-day stay. The breakfast was limited, but the meals are reasonable and very tasty. "

"Excellent staff, room could use a small renovation, especially the shower door, hard to slide out. One of the security staff was not very pleasant, this was the day of March21st as I was checking out. He was constantly on his phone, used his foot to open and close the hotel door, did not move for housekeeper to map the front, did not greet guests. Other than that everyone else was great! "
