Ideal getaway!
We felt comfortable the moment we entered Summerwind Cottage. Everything about the property was well planned, executed, and maintained. We loved sitting on the deck watching the activity in the marina, eating our meals, and seeing the sunsets. Our host made sure we had everything we needed. And we were delighted when we found Good Harbor Beach on our morning walk.

Gloucester cottage with harbor view
Great rental. Extremely well decorated, comfortable furniture, well equipped kitchen. Nice bright windows. Extremely clean and well maintained. Great deck set up with view of part of the harbor. Really good seafood takeout a 3-minute walk away. 5-minute drive to downtown; parking is tight but we got parking easily 1-2 short blocks off Main Street. Great seafood restaurants and a nice Italian section too. Definitely would return and definitely recommend this property.

A Little Bit of East Coast Paradise
My husband and I chose this VRBO as a getaway treat to celebrate our upcoming 50th wedding anniversary, and it delivered four days and five nights of splendid relaxation. The accommodations more than met our expectations, and we were able to forget about our troubles and enjoy each others company and our surroundings without any fear of being disappointed. Even the weather cooperated and allowed us to enjoy the balcony/deck in the evenings while taking in the blue water and colorful fishing vessels in the harbor. The proximity to excellent dining was another perk. Although we have visited Gloucester four times in the past, we discovered a few new haunts which offered the freshest and most delicious seafood to be found just about anywhere on the eastern seaboard, and we have tried many over the years. One restaurant and another purveyor of fresh seafood were within walking distance. Here are a few items that we truly appreciated: 1. Tasteful and comfortable decor. 2. Delightful artwork throughout. 3. A well-appointed kitchen with a Keurig!. All-Clad pans, and sharp knives. Ice cubes ready on arrival in the freezer. 4. Comfy mattresses and pillows. Reading lights next to the beds. 5. Thick, soft toilet paper. Really. 6. Linda, whose knowledge of the area and proximity and availability for questions was very helpful, especially when my husband couldn't get the washer started because he failed to close the door all of the way. First Girls Trip
My best friend, her daughter, and I had our first girls trip to the charming cottage on the bay. The space was perfect for the three of us and had everything we needed for our trip. At the end of our days in Salem it was nice to sit out on the deck and watch the sunset. Linda provided exceptionally good communication and accommodations to our extra needs. We were sad to leave.

Wonderful Vacation Get-A-Way
We spent a week touring Cape Ann and this property was a perfect location for our vacation. House was clean, very well appointed, comfortable, and located with a beautiful view of the Harbor from the outdoor deck and from inside. This is a characterful and beautifully (and newly) renovated unit. It is very well equipped, has very nice furnishings, and the decor is extremely nice (a lot of care has been put into the character and appearance of this unit). The owners live next door and were very prompt with help and supplies. The information provided is clear and gives very helpful tips for enjoying your trip. The view from the deck is wonderful: a clear sight of the harbor with many ships coming and going. It's a very short drive to the downtown area, and we had lots of great day trips (both walking and driving) to nearby locations. We had a great stay and strongly recommend this unit.

Lovely town and stay
Had not been to this part of the country other than Boston and we genuinely loved our time in Glouchester. Authentic and super friendly. The cottage while outside of downtown by a 5 minute drive was really lovely and there are some places you can walk to. We like that is was super quiet and quaint. And it is nice to have the owners next door. Really comfy and quintessential Mass. Slept very well and everything as was shown. Highly recommend. Also recommend walking to Duckworth's for lunch ( and note they have some incredible meal take outs for dinners if you prefer to mix things up). Very high quality and even some nice little gifts that I purchased. We also loved the Rocky Neck area for evenings to walk around, grab an ice cream. Rockport was our other favorite town and only a 10 minute drive. And the little beach up from Rocky Neck was super easy to get to and never crowded. Weather was perfect. Even though it says 71 and "rainy". It rarely if ever rained and that was in the evenings. The 71 here feels like 81 elsewhere. Will for sure be back in future.

Wonderful Place to Mark an Anniversary
Our stay at “Summerwind Cottage” was perfect in every way. Linda and Hank are wonderful hosts that have provided everything needed. The house was very clean, nicely furnished and came with a well-equipped kitchen. Linda also had meal making essentials for our use (spices, condiments, etc) They provided a list of local restaurants and other places of things to do or find for needs. Virgillio’s Bakery St. Joseph Sandwich on a St. Joseph roll in Gloucester was just terrific (and great pastries). Also loved Farnham’s in Essex and The Barnacle in Marblehead for seafood. The view of the harbor and its activity was great. Photos in the listing and descriptions represent the house accurately. All in all, it was a great place to mark our 50th wedding anniversary.

This apartment was wonderful! Very clean and incredibliy well built. Sofas/beds were quite comforable, as was the entire space. Just a few minute drive into Gloucester (which we loved walking around), 30m to Salem. We spent an entire day exploring Cape Ann, including Rockport and Halibut Point , which is quite the gem. Linda was very helpful with recommendations and reservation quite easy. Was more $ than we typically spend/night but worth it and would ablsolutely stay here again!

Fabulous vacation
My party of four spent a week in August in this cottage and I can’t say enough about the entire experience. The cottage is IMMACULATE and roomier than it looks in looks in pictures. It is very well stocked, plenty of starter necessities (paper goods, dish soap, detergent), kitchen items (dishes, glasses, pots, pans), linens and towels. AND everything we needed for the beach (beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, umbrella and a beach cart). Icing on the cake, the hosts, Linda and Hank, are lovely, friendly, helpful people that made this a wonderful vacation. Thanks, again, guys! We can’t wait to return.
