Our weekend at your property was perfect. We had 4 couples who spend one weekend a year together to catch up and be together. It was just perfect. Thank you.
We stayed for a wedding at crystal springs resort. It was absolutely perfect. The rooms are huge, and have huge in suite bathrooms. Able to get around easy, and the area is beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Loved everything about this place. Everyone loved having their personal bathrooms, very clean, comfortable, historic but all the modern touches. This is our second time staying at the mill and we plan to come back. Kevin is very responsive and a great host.
Our large extended family has an early Thanksgiving every year (all beds usually filled with longer distance folks, up to 35 for dinner on Saturday). This is our third year at the Gristmill and it continues to satisfy everyone. We've already booked for next year!
Gorgeous property with its own waterfall. While there are lots of stairs, the views from each of the 5 bedrooms are beautiful. Not far from a wedding venue and a small town with a major grocery store. I got lots of kudos from the family for this selection.
We had a wonderful stay at the Grist Mill for our family event. It is larger than the pictures portray. The kitchen has a commercial stove and hood that made cooking for our large group very easy. And there is a great game room that provided extra space for the "kids' to segregate to. We will definitely consider renting the Grist Mill for future family gatherings.
A truly unique property - complete with fire pit, stream and its own waterfall! We had plenty of space for eight of us to have room to spare and celebrate the life of one of our beloved friends who passed away two years ago. We were also pleasantly surprised by the nearby places to eat, golf, get supplies, etc. A very special weekend for us.
Huge Home, with lots of room in each bedroom with personal Bathrooms. So much room in this House, was on Old B&B so everyone has as much privacy as they want. The beautiful setting sitting by the streams and waterfalls was unbelievable, We slept with our windows open to listen to the "white noise" of the water. Perfect for our Bachelorette Party. Loved it and visited the Wineries in area too.
Gathering for a family funeral we came from many directions.. Tennessee/ North Carolina/ Arizona / Albany/NJ/ Savannah/
The house was warm and welcoming with lots of space and choices.. the setting allowed us to be together with space. INTERNET. WONDERFUL KITCHEN AND A WATERFALL ....fireplaces were wonderful- it was the perfect spot for 12 of us to be together in an amazing home at a very sad time. It was perfect.
This is a beautiful four story mill that was converted into a gorgeous home. There are plenty of original mill workings in every room. The bedrooms are large and each has en suite bathrooms. There is a secluded back yard with a beautiful private waterfall and creek.
If you like historical homes, privacy, and waterfalls, you won’t be disappointed. And if you like walking and hiking, there is plenty of that nearby.
We had a small problem when we arrived, but Kevin was quick to respond and sort it out. We would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our family reunion.
First for the good. This house was a joy to stay at. It fit our group of 16 with room to spare. The grounds are breathtaking and the little town it is in is ridiculously charming. The house does have its quirks but has so much character to make up for it.
Now the not so good.the kitchen was not well set up. There weren’t very many normal drinking glasses or coffee mugs and what was there was somewhat dirty with dried on food on multiple of them which was gross. There was a Keurig and a drip coffee pot, both of which worked good but there was no crockpot. There also was a lack of towels and blankets for that amount of people and we had to request them after we got there and realized there wasn’t enough but the manager was responsive and we got them later that same day. I wasn’t pleased with the fact that as our group was heading out one morning, pest control came by and let themselves into the house without any warning. I felt that a heads up should have been warranted. We also didn’t have enough garbage bags. It felt like the bare minimum of basic household things were supplied which has not been a problem at any of the other VRBO homes I have stayed at.
Overall, it was a good experience and we had a great time but there were some very fixable things that I would like to see changed before I would consider rebooking this house.
Our family has been celebrating an early Thanksgiving/reunion at the Gristmill for the last four years.
It has everything we need for a large (31 people) gathering. The out of towners stay overnight (14), the rest come in from nearby for the day. As usual, a great time was had by all.
Our family stay was amazing. The host was very accommodating and helpful down to recommending restaurants.
The house was intriguing and comfortable. Very rarely do you get to sleep in history that is not a refurbished house.
The grist mill and the pats remained commended with the decor was a perfect combination of history and the best of modern comfort.
The outdoor space was wonderful for the kids to go to the waterfall and use their imaginations to play while the adults could sit in one of the many outdoor seating spaces watching them.
All of the people in our party commented on the size of the rooms, the cleanliness and how so close to many places to hike, shop and dine.
We all intend on staying here again.
Our family gathered at this location as we were in town to celebrate a wedding. It turned out to be so much more than just a place to stay – it was an unforgettable experience. The historic charm of the property, with its scattered traces of history, added a unique touch to our stay. The thoughtful updates made throughout the home enhanced our overall experience.
While there were a few minor issues, such as some worn and broken outdoor furniture by the waterfall, a missing remote in one of the bedrooms (we searched through all 65+ drawers, cubbies, and shelves in that room!), non-functioning lights, and the AC struggling with the intense heat, these did not detract from our enjoyment. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was nothing short of a 5-star experience.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a special getaway and I am already planning a return visit with family members from France who would also appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of this property. The house itself is truly incredible, the surroundings are picturesque, and the overall experience is one to remember.
This was the best place for group! We had 4 families (14 of us all together) with kids ages ranging from 9 to 16. We were all able to have our own room with attached bathrooms. There was a game room that all the kids loved hanging out in. There was plenty of outdoor sitting to be able to hang out outside as well. Kevin was a very attentive host and quickly fix any issues we had. I would definitely recommend this place if you are traveling with a large group.
The house was perfect for our big holiday group. It’s an old house. So. Old problems. But Kevin was awesome and was there to help with any problems. Plenty of room for everyone. And stores nearby to get what you need. Only wish there was a second refrigerator.
If you have a large group looking for an unforgettable experience stay here. The work that went into making this 1805 Grist Mill into a VRBO was amazing. Big rooms and each one with it's own bath, a large kitchen and the unique ambiance of the old mill oozing through every room. The waterfall outside of the mill was the ultimate!
House was perfect for our gathering of 12 friends.
Plenty of rooms, beds & baths. Host was very accommodating & responsive. All amenities were accurate and fully functional. Would definitely look to stay again if we were in the area.
Beautiful home in serene location. Plenty of outdoor space and seating for 8 dear friends celebrating our 60th birthdays to relax and enjoy conversation with wine and the sound of the waterfall! Antique furnishings, stone walls and fireplaces added to its charm. Microwave works fine once the door is lined up correctly, should be repaired. Would suggest bringing a tea kettle. Keurig provided. Beds were comfortable and linens were adequate. WiFi worked well, brought a Bluetooth speaker for music. Would definitely return if in the area.
