This adobe home was homesteaded and built by our ancestors in 1901. It was lovingly restored by my mother's own hands in 1998.
-The home has two separate bedrooms with a king-sized bed in the back bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the front bedroom.(Due to the age of the home and the additions made throughout the years, the back bedroom accesses the rest of the home through either the front bedroom - or through the outside front patio). The couch in living room makes out into a queen-size bed - for three beds total in the unit. There is a spacious kitchen which includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, 12-C Mr Coffee dripcoffee pot, blender, spices, dishes, and pots and pans for your use. The home also has a light and bright cozy sunroom to enjoy sipping your coffee from and enjoying your unobstructed view of the Mogollon mountain range. A washer and dryer is also available for your use. The living room has a couch and recliner, Smart TV with Dish satellite, and a bookcase to browse books about the local area. The large covered front porch has a table and chairs and lots of room to enjoy spreading out and enjoying the fresh air. The back yard has a large covered patio, gas fire pit, tables and chairs, and propane BBQ grill for your use.
-This is a stand-alone home.
-The picturesque Catwalk National Recreation Trail is only an 8 minute drive past our cabins. As the river flows down the Whitewater Canyon, it cascades over huge boulders creating splashing waterfalls and hidden pools, magical places in our high desert environment. A variety of bridges traverse the incredible canyon with breathtaking soaring stone formation. The developed trail is 2 miles one way - and climbs upwards into the canyon. Parts of this trail were upgraded in 2003 for handicap access - it is wheel chair accessible to the end of the reconstructed trail, about half a mile one way. Beyond the developed trail, more rigorous trails lead into the Gila Wilderness. There are a variety of other incredible hikes that are not as frequently visited by tourists. I will be glad to send you more info on these as well. You will definitely need a vehicle to get to Glenwood and the Catwalk. From your cabin's front door, you can enjoy walking and biking up a nearby canyon and just leisurely strolling the tree covered local roads.
-Thorough communication will ensure you have an easy check-in during your stay at the Double T Catwalk Resort. Maps of the Glenwood area and of the Resort itself will ensure you know right where you are staying. A lockbox is provided for self check-in so you don't have to be concerned with your arrival time. Dusk to dawn patio lights will always be on to welcome you so you are never fumbling around in the dark. I will be available by phone - call or text. Rachel, my assistant property manager, lives only minutes away from the resort if needed.
