"2 night stay in the hotel was excellent! Great hairdryer, mini fridge with complimentary water and shortbread, soft robes and slippers, ironing board, fan and extra heater. Leisure centre was lovely and only a short walk from the hotel, with a lovely pond and outdoor seating too. The whisky bar/gatehouse bar had a great selection of drinks and food was excellent (you can also order this to your room which came super fast) Anna at reception was extremely friendly and helpful Great location for nearby towns/cities and lots of walking spots "

"This is our 4th trip to The Retreat and we have had another excellent stay at this wonderful property. The cottage is immaculate and well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. The kids loved playing in the garden and the hot tub. The hosts are welcoming and communication with them was easy and straightforward. Can't wait to return!"

"I had not realized on booking that the second bedroom was in the loft and accessible by a wooden loft ladder. Both my sister and I are retired and neither of us could get the ladder down. We decided not to contact Helen as we wouldn't have been able to go up and down the ladder anyway. It is very steep and doesn't have any handrailsThe property itself is an old style cottage with a good size kitchen which had some groceries to start us off. A lovely touch after a 7 hour journey.The living area is a good size but the sofa is only really for two people so if there are four of you then you would be on chairs.We were unable to turn on the shower but after messaging Helen she came back quickly to tell us to pull the cord outside the shower. We arrived late and in the dark and could find the parking space which turned out to be at the front. There was a van parked next to it and it was tight to get into with an SUV. I had to go onto the garden bit so the car wasn't sticking out into the road.For some reason we both couldn't get the lock box open with the key in. Safe to say it would be easier without long nails.The double bed was comfortable in the bedroom and we found extra throws in the cupboard. There was a free standing heater in there which I had on a couple of times. Unfortunately there is another property that goes over the bedroom and it sounded like they were moving furniture and walking about for an hour and a half on the last night. Not the property owners fault"

"Greenbrae East was the perfect little house for us. We have two you boys (3&1) and it was perfect for them. They provided a cot with a mattress and a booster highchair Only negative was the mattress in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable, and my husband slept in with our son as it slopes to one side. But but we loved the house all the same.."
