"We had a family gathering during Christmas and New Years. The house was nicely designed to accommodate our party of six. The kitchen was great for cooking our meals including the Christmas turkey. We would highly recommend the house for short or long stays. "

"The price was high, but by far the best accommodation we had in Ireland. The host checked in that everything was okay, had good suggestions what to see in Galway. One suggestion was to walk downtown. Faster and easier than driving. They came in midweek to change the bedding. A fully equipped kitchen, and a grocery store across the road made meals easy. The Huntsman Inn restaurant and pubs were across the parking lot, so no need to drive. Truly a first class facility. "

It’s just so beautiful and peaceful, not too far from Oughterard if you need some cooking supplies, but out of town enough that you really feel one with the beautiful landscape that surrounds you. "Staying at this Castle was a highlight of our trip. It has been updated with comforts as much as possible. We had a nice warm stay. This is a true standing castle rich with history. Perfectly located outside galway. Barry was an excellent and resposive host. I think he was just as exciting for us as we were to stay. I omly dinged cleanliness because its an ancient castle. If dust in the corners isn't expected, this is not the place for you. Book It!"

"This georgian house is impressive but in great need of some TLC. Mary the house keeper/property manager does a great job of keeping it clean and tidy but there are serious things that need addressing in order to maintain the house: the house has damp - stained peeling wallpaper shows this, as do the mushrooms growing out the beam by the front door. I'd urge the owner to get this under control before it takes hold of the property. A few features in the description are untrue: there is no games...

"First of all, the lodge is exactly as portrayed in the pictures. We absolutely loved our 8 day stay in in this remote and quiet countryside. Lough Carra was beautiful, and we had sheep out front and dairy cows in the back. Beautifully landscaped as well. The caretakers, Jim and Mary were exceptional. "Not only was the location, perfect for attending evens like Trad on the Prom down on the water, it was only a 15 minute walk into town where Quay street fun lured us to music dancing and laughing. . "The property is lovely and spacious, clearly recently renovated. Its off the beaten track (which we like) but a quick drive into Galway or off to various sites. Kathleen was one of the most communicative and proactive hosts we've had on VRBO, reaching out several times before we arrived, and checking in with us while we were there. "This property was perfect for me and my extended family. Both granddaughters were over the moon at having a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. All four adults found the bedrooms, community areas and kitchen to be a great value with enough space for everyone to find seclusion when needed, and ample room for group meals and other activities. "We had a love stay on the outskirts of Oughterard! The property was quiet and remote and very enjoyable! Only thing I would say is we were a little confused on how to access the property at first because the address given stops at the cottages. I would also have liked the property manager to be more responsive, but the local contact was very helpful! Over all, this stay was great and will be incredibly memorable for a long time!"

"We stayed for three nights in this lovely home. The unfortunate part of this stay is that we barely had any hot water while we were there. We had to take cold showers based on the way the heating system worked. We shower in the evening and could get a warm show to save our lives. It made it tough at the end of a long day. Also, for the price And in today’s times, there should be WiFi access even if it is a paid amenity. It becomes difficult to plan your stay with no access to Wi-Fi."
