"Ashford Castle was the best hotel that I have ever visited. The staff is delightful and facilities exceptional. We enjoyed a private Hawk Walk lead by Mel. She was terrific. We played 9 holes and had the course to ourselves. The grounds are breathtaking. The room that we stayed in thru Hotels.com was 420. What a beautiful room with lots of light. It was just amazing. It was a bit of heaven! You must visit. "

"What can I say about this hotel that hasn’t already been said? It was simply amazing. We took a break from our family heritage tour and headed north of Galway to stay at The Lodge at Ashford Castle—and I’m so glad we did. "This place was mostly great! The spa was lovely, food was good, environment is pretty. The beds were comfortable and the features of the room all worked well. The two issues were the heat -- it was very warm even after I turned off the radiator -- and the noise. The walls are thin, and I could definitely hear the people nextdoor very easily. I sleep with white noise, so it wasn't a huge deal, but nonetheless a bit of a problem."

"We had a wonderful stay. We had a kettle for tea or coffee in our room with milk provided and delicious little cookies as well. "We stayed in self catering house just few yards from the hotel. The house had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable too. We ate in hotel on first night. Food was excellent. Hotel is very well decorated and clean. Staff were helpful, especially Marian and Kylie. Didn’t use the spa nor the sauna (which you have to pay extra for). The sauna is by the small private beach. Definitely would highly recommend this place."

"Our host greeted us upon arrival and did a thorough walk through with us to show us around and how to operate everything. The home heats with wood stoves and a boiler so she helped get everything started and warmed up. The bedrooms suited us perfectly - we had 4 adults and 5 kids age 10-15 and the set up worked great. The home is very private but easy to find. "
