The extensive driveway leading to the house is through a well maintained, south-facing garden with an outdoor sitting area and there is ample private parking for guests' vehicles in a spacious area to the front.

The house has a spacious kitchen/dining room and an attractive, stylish living area comprising of an elegant lounge and adjoining sunroom with sliding doors out to a raised patio area. This part of the house benefits from magnificent views north to The Braes of Doune, Callander, Ben Vorlich and beyond.

Melville Lodge can accommodate six guests in three well-appointed, spacious bedrooms. The bedroom downstairs has en-suite facilities, with a bath and shower, while the two bedrooms upstairs have an adjacent shower room. The bedrooms upstairs each have a king-size bed; one of the rooms also contains a single bed. The bedroom on the ground floor has a double bed.
The energy used in Melville Lodge is predominately mains electricity. The central heating system is oil-fired. Electricity and heating are included, along with bed linen and towels.
A 5G mobile mast supplies broadband services. This, as with any Broadband connection, can fluctuate however, there is Wi-Fi signal throughout the property. Test speeds are consistently around 150Mb/s

Wonderful Stay!
My family of five had a wonderful stay at this house. The host had everything we needed at the house. It was extremely clean and very welcoming. The host was available for resources during our stay. Also had suggestions for traveling. We would definitely stay at this lovely home again.

The property owner Irene Moede upon our arrival and gave us a tour of the house. It’s a beautiful property very clean very well maintained with every convenience you may need. If you’re looking for a secluded stay in a serene surrounding Melville Lodge is for you.

Great house near Glasgow!
We stayed here in early July 2024 and loved it! The hostess was so nice and the house is just beautiful! Such a beautiful place not more than 10 minutes or so from Glasgow, we really loved being in the country but not too far from stores, restaurants, and city life. We really enjoyed ourselves and took many walks around the neighborhood. We would definitely return.

Spotless place and spacious house
Good starting place to discover nearby cities Edinburgh and Glasgow. Using the park and ride to Edinburgh recommended. Good place for larger families. Large kitchen to get together but also niches to enjoy a book or a nice view. We had a great time. Very friendly houseowner who provided us with good advice, fresh flowers and toffee 😊 Thank you, Irene!

The surroundings are tranquil and serene and the lodge is beyond beautiful and exceptionally clean. Our host, Irene, was warm, kind, and hospitable. Our stay exceeded our expectations! We thoroughly enjoyed the sheep and goats during our down time at the lodge. Thank you!

A very elegant, very clean house in a good position to visit both, cities (Edinburgh and Glasgow) and other sights (Stirling, Falkirk etc.). The landlady is very nice and helpful. We would recommend it anytime.

Just Perfect!
This property is very conveniently located between Edinburgh, Glasgow, and other places of interest. The nearest train station is literally 8 minutes down the road. Also, you will never find a cleaner house with a more hospitable host. Irene is welcoming, helpful and joyful as she helps you settle in. We loved the country setting, as it was peaceful and quiet. No hussle and bustle here! And plenty of space to park. Just perfect!

Our family of four recently stayed at Melville Lodge. The house was, and had, everything we needed. It was warm, comfortable, spacious and exceptionally clean. The host, Irene met us when we arrived and made us feel welcome. She is a very kind and generous host. The location was great for us - close to family, only 30 mins to Glasgow and Stirling but it also had the peace and tranquillity of a rural setting. We loved staying at Melville Lodge. We hope to return sometime soon and would happily recommend the house as a great place to stay in Cumbernauld.

Great location especially if you plan on traveling (driving) around Scotland
This is a fantastic location. We traveled from America and wanted to see as much of Scotland as possible. We rented a car and drove ourselves around. Edinburgh is about 40 minutes from the VRBO house. Glasgow was around 25 minutes from house. The house was very clean and had beautiful countryside scenery with sheep grazing within our view. The only negative experience was the clothes dryer did not work and we had to hang our clothes to dry around the house. However, the owner was easy to contact about the clothes dryer not working, but it not fixed before we left. We highly recommend this location and would stay there again.

A piece of heaven in the country
This property was of the finest quality and craftsmanship set in the nicest country location easy to access and very serene! The host (Irene) was extremely accommodating and charming, and very professional in introducing us to her property. She explained everything with safety as the most important to us as her guests. The property was extremely well appointed and comfortable at the same time for us a family of 6.

A lovely place to stay
Melville Lodge is a lovely place to stay with a great host who clearly wants the guests to have a top notch experience, which we did - thank you! The Lodge is spotlessly clean, very comfortable, warm with constant hot water, lots of facilities, very nicely decorated with a luxury feel. You need a car to stay there, it is in the countryside, but we rather liked that. Accomodation in Scotland we find generally quite expensive but here we felt it is really worth it and we will be back!

Perfectly stunning in every way - Would recommend in a heartbeat
From the moment turn into the road, you know you are on to something special. A mile later, you've hit the jackpot. As you drive in you are presented with a beautifully kept front garden with ample driveway space and a gorgeous stone house. The house itself is well stocked and catered for. There wasn't a single occasion where we needed something and it wasn't available. With three toilets, two baths and two showers, it was ideal for three work colleagues sharing and would be even better for a family. Set in a perfect location with plently of stunning views for those who enjoy a walk. Everything you could need in terms of shopping is available within a 9 minute drive, even closer if you aonly want something local rather than a large supermarket. All in all, a perfect property in a perfect location. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

Lovely house, host and location
A great short break at Melville lodge with family a lovely rural location but just a few minutes from restaurants, take away an etc. Easy access to motorway for trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and other towns and cities. Thank you.
