"We chose this hotel because it had high ratings and it fully deserved them ! Everything was perfect and it is one of the most comfortable stays we have ever experienced. Lots of space in the room and the bathroom, perfect temperature, tastefully furnished, excellent breakfast and a host to whom nothing is too much trouble."

"The property is a trip back in time - rustic, so quiet! It is well located for visits to the sights of the Argonne, including First World War monuments, cemeteries etc. The owner is very charming and helpful, with advice on where to visit and things to do. With breakfast included, I would highly recommend this place."

"Had a lovely say this week at Chez Mathilde. It was chosen for the peace and quiet and because of the lovely cosy feel of the property. It was just the right distance for us to explore the forts and bunkers around Verdun. The gite itself, had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. Annie was lovely and made us a quiche, which was the best I have eaten. If we go back to this region again, we will defiantly be booking Chez Mathilde again."
