Beautiful and quiet. Great location and would most definitely stay again when visiting the south sound. Our yorkie had a great time and met some nice dogs next door. Actually the only neighbor we saw. One complaint: the water system is poor. Hard to control shower temp to the point it is frustrating.

was amazing!! Very comfortable and peaceful. Plenty of room to roam inside and out. Well appointed furnishings. The vinyl collection was eclectic and diverse. And a jukebox!!! Will definitely stay again when visiting Gig Harbor.

Just some little things.
There were a lot of dirty dishes. I pulled out a wooden cutting board and decided not to use it because it was so dirty. Most of the pots are big. Only 2 small and they would have stuff I had to scrape off the inside. I think this is because they only give you a sponge. Nothing to scrub anything off when washing. The outside railing is rusted with sharp spots so I kept telling the 4 year to get away from it. Also hauling the trash cans quarter of a mile to the end of the road seemed ridiculous. I thought the beds hadn't been made when I first got there because the bed linen looks like a flimsy mattress cover. Like I said, little things. Now the house is very roomy and nice . Some things could use updating but for a house on the water with your own beach and a beautiful yard the price was amazing. Everything worked and our stay was very enjoyable and we would come back. Also just be aware that when the tide goes out there is mud. We were going to bring our dog and I am so glad we didn't because she would have been in it and destroyed the house. My grandchildren loved it and covered themselves. Lol. We loved the place. Like I said. "Just some little things"

Needs a cleaning and a refresh
We have been coming once or twice a year for the last three years. The view is lovely and the proximity to the water is wonderful. However, there’s pet hair, human hair, and dead bugs in abundance. I don’t want to find a bunch of hair in the refrigerator or utensil drawer. There was lots of hair between sheets and on towels. For the second visit in a row the master bedroom shower curtain liner was covered in fuzzy mold which was really the last straw for me. We ran out of toilet paper on day 2. We always have to buy supplies when we use the house. There was also a heavy musty smell in the master bedroom, hall, and bathroom. We burned candles and diffused oils the entire time. We have some wonderful memories in this home, but it needs serious cleaners and the paint and bathrooms need a refresh.

FALSE ADVERTISING - MISLEADING PHOTOS
PROPERTY 1783126 Reservation ID NBMMGAQH 2/17/23-2/23/23 The photographs feature a fireplace in the living room, as well as it is high lighted in the written description. The 2nd paragraph states; “The living room area offers a tasteful interior décor and comfortable furnishings strategically located near the fireplace and flatscreen TV for your convenience.” Upon arrival it was obvious that VACASA & the owners know the fireplace was not functional. The fireplace was disconnected and the instructional booklet inside the home stated; “Do not use the fireplace as it is not for guest use and is not hooked up.” When Donna at VACASA was contacted by text, she simply restated the obvious, the fireplace was not functional. She then referred me to the 800# of VACASA, who told me that because it was not listed in the amenities section that it was not required to work. Customer Service then attempted to contact the “local VACASA” rep, well that was just a circle Jerk! I have difficulty understanding why I (the consumer who keeps VRBO & VACASA in $) should have to verify that a featured “amenity” was in fact something that works? It might be understandable if a guest arrived and the dishwasher or other amenity had recently broke. Based on the in-home instruction booklet, the fireplace has been unusable for quite some time. It is my opinion that this should be noted in BOLD CAPITALS that the fireplace is nonfunctional, in the property description. I have photos as proof of this.

Incredible home - can't say enough about all the comforts and laid back feeling while staying at The Tides. It was a challenge to find a rental that would accept dogs, located on the water with enough bedrooms/bathrooms to accommodate us and our adult kids. The Tides met exceeded all our list items! Trips into Gig Harbor for restaurants/basic shopping needs is easy/close by. Kayaking and paddle boards were used almost every day....walk out the door, across the deck and lawn to launch. Doesn't get much better than this for us, we'll be back!

Spacious and tastefully furnished home; bring supplies
I booked this stay in December 2021 for our April 2022 trip, only to be concerned about a negative review that came in after I booked it. When we arrived, though, all was well and we were thrilled with our accommodations. The windows at the back of the house gave a relaxing view that I enjoyed every morning as I sipped my coffee. It looks out on the water and, beyond that, the houses on Raft Island. If you step out on the spacious deck, you can see the waters off the state park. The house was tastefully furnished. Binoculars were supplied--and we used them--to view wildlife in Carr Inlet. One thing to keep in mind about the lovely windows at the back of the house is that there were no window coverings (except in the bedroom), so if privacy is important to you, that might be a problem. I had no idea how much I would love the Jukebox--both the look and the sound--and the CD selection also matched our musical tastes. The landscaping at the house was well-maintained and beautiful. The house was clean when we arrived. I was surprised that cleaning supplies were not available to use, as I would think that they would WANT us to clean as we go along. We purchased some supplies to use, as well as paper towels, finding one roll of cheap paper towels to be inadequate. For our 6-night stay, there were just a few dishwasher pods supplied, so we bought more of those, too. I found using the kitchen a bit frustrating. While it was large, it was not well organized, so finding things was a challenge, with stuff strewn about randomly in the many cabinets. We never found a coffee grinder. I found measuring cups and spoons only after I had already bought some to use. Significant road construction and numerous traffic circles in Gig Harbor made accessing a regular grocery store challenging, but doable. Downtown Gig Harbor, on the other hand, was easy to get to. Be aware that if you have children, family-friendly restaurants are harder to come by downtown. If you enjoy long beach walks, as we do, I did not find a good location for that near Gig Harbor due to the number of private beaches that you are not supposed to traverse. While the private beach at the Tides was nice to explore, it was small. There is a state park nearby (Kopachuck). Overall, we had a lovely stay at the Tides and I hope to return again.

Nice place and views but needs some maintenance.
Overall a pleasant stay. The place can use some updates and maintenance, for example almost all outlets in the living room will not hold a plug. Dimmers, door handles, beds, dimmers, the bbq, and umbrellas need attention, among other things. There was an issue with ants on the counters that management is aware of and trying to address. Several outdoor lights were burned out. The welcome basket, juke box, and phonograph are really nice touches. Over-all would stay again but cleanliness and maintenance issues need to be addressed.

Wonderful place to stay
We were a family with 3 adult children staying while we had some work done to our house. What a joy it is to wake up each morning and see the beautiful view. The house was plenty big for all 5 of us. We took walks over to Raft Island and our son took out our kayaks as well. We would definitely stay again!
