Our favorite part: You feel like you’re far out in the countryside but in reality you’re only a ten-minute drive into Gettysburg town center. The quiet, countryside beauty allowed us to experience real rest & leisure away from town’s bustle.
We loved this way of experiencing the local history by staying in an historic farm house. Its aesthetic is right on par with that history (and even the TV is a Samsung Frame that looks like a painting of a Civil War scene on the wall!).
That said, the house is very much up to date with a lovely kitchen, bathroom(s) and sunroom - as well as a great outdoor patio/fire pit space and brand new grill.
Our active one-year-old who’s so close to walking loved exploring the house, its grounds and nearby pond. We brought our pack-n-play for baby to sleep in at night and for naps, as well as a white-noise sound machine and audio monitor. Both were helpful because we could enjoy sitting outside as nap time happened in an upstairs bedroom, and the sound machine blurred the occasional car/motorcycle speeding by (the house is close to the road, as you can see in the photos).
Very thoughtful details by the property owners, Kevin and Cari. You can immediately see and feel how much they care for this space and for your time staying in it! Kevin was very accommodating with our unusual schedule (an unpredictably timed Gettysburg College athlete graduation) and generously available/flexible for both check in and check out. Thank you so much!
