Papa and I went with our daughter, son in law and 3 grandsons aged 6-11. Pots, kettles and frypans in the kitchen were a bit lacking for meal preps. The stairs are steep and narrow to the 2nd floor bathroom and bedrooms, which is TOTALLY in character for a home of this vintage. This might however pose a problem for people with small children or disability. We totally enjoyed the acreage to hike, fish, campfire, play games on. . We were there for the Civil War re -enactment and after hours of sitting in bleachers, it gave the boys ample space to burn off energy. Last year we stayed in a lovely higher end chain hotel ....this was a similar value with the benefit of doing some of our own meals, and provided relatively quiet, convenient to Gettysburg, off the beaten path, private setting. My son in law locked himself out of the house inadvertently...the owners were very accommodating getting him back in. Any questions we text or emailed to them were answered immediately as was the lockout phone call! We would all definitely stay here again.
