"The hotel is big and could cater to big crowds without having the guests feeling overcrowding. The 3 onsens are spread over 3 different blocks of building but very walkable within indoor (hence no concern about rain or cold weather). Buffet breakfast was excellent with good spread of western and Japanese cuisine. Parking onsite is complimentary and the hotel is walkable to small town with eateries, shops and cafes. "A good location from which to enjoy the Gero Onsen experience. Free shuttle from the train station makes it convenient. The dinner and breakfast are excellent if you like japanese style meals. Very convenient to local shopping, etc. Very enjoyable hot baths. Recommended if you like public baths and ryokan style meals."

"I came to Gero on a recommendation from a close friend. I somehow missed it when I had done a previous Takayama trip and I am glad I came back. The town is very small and the hotel is easily walkable from the station, some people say 15 mins but it was more like 8-10 mins and that was while stopping to take pictures of the Hida river. Great location for the hotel, close to everything. The Onsen in this hotel alternate between male and female daily so you will have a chance to experience both...

The building is in an appalling state of disrepair, with strange odors permeating every corner.
