RATES ARE BASED ON TWO PERSONS occupying the Bunkie.
Each additional person, including children are extra.
Children 5 and under are FREE (do NOT include them in your quote)

It is our policy at New Year's, May and September long weekends, if there are no children in the group, that we rent to a maximum of TWO adults only.

+++

This unique rental is ideal for a single person, a couple or a small family with young children. Sleeps four comfortably.

It is also a great opportunity to embrace the concept of 'tiny house living'

Greystone 'Bunkie' was, at one time, our travel trailer when our children were young. It has been retired and is a permanent location under shelter.

Located on a fenced-in, 1 acre property surrounded by 430 acres of our private wildlife/nature reserve and managed forest, you couldn't ask for a more serene and peaceful place to enjoy your holiday. Bring your binoculars and camera!

Our private greenhouse and vegetable gardens are located within this one acre plot. The fence is to keep the deer out but is also ideal if you have young children ... they can run and play safely (of course, not in gardens and flowerbeds).

The BUNKIE is fully equipped with everything you'll need to enjoy your holiday -- all you need bring is food, clothes and personal items -- including the comfort of air conditioning for muggy evenings.

Kitchen, dining area, sitting area; 2 extra long single bunk beds; private master bedroom with double bed (new pillow top mattress 2019); full washroom with shower/tub.

There is a private patio with table, chairs and umbrella outside your front door; a fire pit (with wood and chairs supplied). Plenty of flowers and a wide variety of birds.

This location is a perfect artist or writer's getaway; ideal for birdwatchers, nature lovers, hikers, stargazing and just getting away from the hustle and bustle of life.

The Bunkie is NOT on the water.

The Bunkie is accessed via a steep paved and concrete driveway with paved parking inside the Bunkie fence.

We are located on the scenic route approximately half-way between Owen Sound and Wiarton, Ontario, Canada.

About 2.5 hours' drive from Toronto airport area; 5 hours from Buffalo; 3 hours from Sarnia.

HOUSE RULES:
No smoking in unit
No pets in this unit
No parties or events
No guests other than those on application
Primary renter must be 25 or older
Minimum rental is 2 nights

Quiet time is 11pm to 7am in keeping with local bylaws

Upon booking, a $500 booking deposit is secured by VRBO but not charged. The security/damage deposit is only charged after departure and inspection should we find any missing/broken items. Late departure is chargeable ($50 fee + $50/hour late) as it is inconsiderate and interrupts our turnaround for incoming guests.

Traveled with partner
My partner and I greatly enjoyed our two-night stay in the Bunkie over the Canada Day 2023 weekend. Quiet, private and offering all the amenities we needed to make our own meals, the location provides a great opportunity to explore the Bruce peninsula away from the crowds, whether driving to and hiking in nearby parks or exploring the expansive network of trails on the property. Sue is very kind and welcoming -- thanks for the hospitality!

Peaceful getaway
We really enjoyed our stay in the bunkie. It took a day to warm up but it was cozy after that. The fenced property was perfect for the kids & our small dog to run around. We enjoyed hiking on the trails and such a variety of apples everywhere! Everything was as described and we really appreciated the access to a 2nd bathroom & laundry. We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner under the covered patio by the greenhouse. Would love to return in the summer! Susan was the perfect host.

Susan was very attentive host. Enjoyed our conversation. She gave us tips on what to see on peninsula. Really enjoyed her home grown tomatoes and chocolate zucchini bread. She also has many trails on the property that we didn't have enough time to explore.

Perfect, serene, quiet, peaceful and gem of a place to be
My family and I had a great time here for my bday. Just what we all needed for a quiet and peaceful place to be with. Bunkie was perfect for a small family like myself. They have a beautiful veggie garden. Amazing view and they did some nice work to the acre land. Loved walking the trails with my dog. The fenced in property helped with the dog being able to roam around freely and enjoy. Georgian Bluff is heavenly place to be at! We will be back and thankyou to Susan for everything and her hospitality!

What a lovely spot! The property is beautifully maintained and my little bunkie was perfectly outfitted. The owner was available, friendly and helpful. The dogs had the run of a large fenced area, and we were close to all the beautiful sights of the Bruce. What more could you ask for? Thank you for a wonderful little get-away!

Serene Location
While a bit small, the bunkie was well-equipped and clean. We enjoyed having the use of the grill and the full-size fridge. The location was perfect for seeing the area and the quiet setting was lovely. There was air conditioning, which we appreciated the first night, which was hot; unfortunately, some of the windows/screens are now blocked by the outer ‘shell’ of the bunkie so we couldn’t get as much fresh air as we would have liked. All-in-all though, we would recommend for a couple alone or a small family.

Quiet and serene
Lovely area with beautiful walking trails which are well marked beautiful grounds well kept Go to the European Bakery in Owen Sound for breakfast or treats the Balmy bay variety store has a good selection of alcohol. The BBQ on the property is the best we have ever used at a rental. The unit is small but very clean with everything you need tucked neatly away. The owners respond to questions and help out if needed. The bed is a good double the sofa turns into a futon and there are two small bunks for children or small adults. Lots of pillows, blankets and towels about. Nice drive to the place use the link the owners suggest made life easy getting there.

Exactly as advertised
We were only there for 2 nights but we had a blast. The bunkie was clean and the beds were really comfy (which surprised me as it is a trailer). Beautiful water access just down the road...just be careful not to end up at the neighbors by accident! Very clean and spacious for a trailer. Great cable for rainy days! Thanks so much to the host she was really wonderful.

Bruce peninsula adventure
Really enjoyed our stay, the bunkie sort of grew in size as we got used to the space, loved the peace and quiet. That is quite the steep drive up into the property but certainly doable. Great location for walking sections of the Bruce trail, visiting Tobermory and going to the national park

Great weekend at the Bruce Peninsula
Wonderfully located and well- maintained cabin. Perfect for family with young kids. Susan is a wonderful host who provides an excellent orientation and available for all assistance. The Bunkie is located in the middle of a huge,well- maintained nature reserve, where, with Suasn's map and kind directions, we enjoyed hiking. Wifi and internet connection did not work well, which we really did not miss.

Nice Trails
The property is just as in the description. It is very clean, size is good for two adults, and eventually small children. The trails on the property are very well maintained. The kitchen is fine, it has everything one could need. The cushions on the seat by the table need to be replaced, they are soft and slide while seated. TV is finicky and the Internet is OK but not as fast as some are used to. At time of my stay it was cold for a swim, but the beach looks very nice, I assume in the summer it would be a great place to refresh.

Had everything we needed
Very quiet area with access to many hiking trails. The Bunkie, which is actually a large trailer had everything we needed for our three night stay. Internet and satellite were spotty but it is located in a rural area. We weren’t there to watch tv , so it was fine for us. Communication with Susan was great as she responded quickly to my emails before we arrived.
