What makes Lagunita Lake House special? THE VIEW!! Right on the water!! It has Charm!! THE HOT TUB!! Book It now!!!
The cabin was originally built in 1930; you can still see the logs they used to support the roof and the beautiful quartz fireplace that is the focal point in the cozy living room. It was updated in the 90's and received a fresh coat of paint last summer. There are actually 5 buildings on the property: Main Cabin, Bunkhouse#1, Bunkhouse#2, The Boat House, and The Garage. They all have a lot of charm and quaintness in their own way and they all have a Lakeside view. The most unique feature of 'Lagunita' is definitely the setting...It sit's upon a beautiful little lake in the heart of the Sierra Nevada...surrounded by old growth ceder, pine, and madrone trees. There is a waterfall on the right side of the cabin that run's year round, imagine yourself relaxing on the deck or in the hammock with the tranquil sound of the water steadily washing over the falls. A few steps off the back deck and your at the lake fishing Catch and release only, swimming,or paddling in paradise.

What's to do?: If you love nature you will love this place. There are lots of options to keep you occupied or you can just relax down on the dock, in the hammock, or on the deck. If you like to stay busy well you can:Go rafting, fishing, biking, gold panning, jeeping, hiking, horse back riding, wine tasting, motocross riding, gambling, skiing, bird watching, antique shopping, or check out the local festivals . There is always something to do and see.

Who to bring? Lagunita is perfect for a small family reunion, Grandparents, Parents, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews,
Children, The Grand-babies....and The Great Grand-babies.

Lagunita is perfect for a Retreat, Girls Getaway, Mothers & Daughters, Dads & Boys, Jeepers, Friendsgiving Getaway, The ladies from work, Bunko Babes,....

Lagunita is perfect for a gathering of friends: Any or all, big (max 10) or small,

When to come?:
Winter: Sitting at 3500 elevation it can be cold with snow on the ground..like a winter wonderland.

Spring: Cool with the sun filtering through the trees and a nice cool breeze.

Summer Warm but not hot with lots of shade from the trees.

Fall: Crisp with the change of colors and the sun glimmering on the water.

Anytime: The panorama is visually beautiful!
Come & Enjoy you won't be disappointed!

What more could you ask for??
This place has it all! We stumbled on this while looking for properties nearby. We have never been to Georgetown, let alone even heard of it! When you first come into the small town, it’s like something out of a movie! The property speaks for itself as well..the main cabin was beautifully decorated and has a spacious kitchen. The fireplace was a nice touch, and helped a lot during our stay. The property has everything you need, and then some! The hot tub was fun, and relaxing. Hours after our checkin we were already discussing how we want to make this a yearly trip! We have truly fell in love with the property, and its surroundings! Shary was very quick to reply to our messages and questions. Amazing host! Amazing property!

Another Fantastic Stay
We are only back 1 day and I already miss waking to the lake with my coffee in hand, paddle boarding during the day and being disconnected from phones and internet. It's a special place that allows everyone to reconnect with each other. I only wonder why I didn't book more days!

Fantastic Family Vacation
Thank you so much for our stay at your cabin, which was a perfect location for our family to enjoy our summer vacation. We loved the deck and the location right by the lake. The kids played on the rope swing, kayaked and swam. The icing on the cake was no wifi and very limited cell service, which gave us the opportunity to really get away! Thanks again!

Wonderful
My little family met some friends from the other side of the Sierra at the Lagunita Lake House during the wild January storms. We loved every minute of it. Very comfortable, warm, and accommodating. The hot tub was the perfect way to enjoy the weather and we were surprised with a little snow on our last night which made for some spectacular views. We’d love to visit again to enjoy the swimming hole and rope swings. What a darling place. And I can’t say enough nice things about the owner who kept in contact with us to ensure we were prepared for the weather and traveled safely through the storms.

AMAZING!!!
This house is the one of the best places we have ever stayed. The main house has plenty of room for lounging around. The separate cabins are very roomy. The lake is cold but refreshing, everyone loved the rope swing, the kids loved the swing in the back yard, We caught (and released) lots of bluegill. We even had a canoe race. THIS HOUSE SERIOUSLY HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD ASK FOR IN A RELAXING FUN HAVING WEEKEND. The owner was easy to contact and very helpful, we cant wait to go again. Thanks shary so much for having us.

For us it was perfect it was a 1/2 a mile from our families property. My husband and I have 6 children Between 4 and 23. It was perfect for all ages. They definitely could update some pictures Maybe even a video would be nice. The property was nicer than I expected. Housekeeping was not definitely not impressed. One cabin was so full of spiders We could not use it. There was a couple other things I'm not going to list I will just be more prepared next time.

Excellent Place at a Phenomenal Price!!!!
Our small church group went to Lagunita for a peaceful, wonderful, and a relaxing time. Shary, the owner, was great to interact with, with prompt and informative responses even a day before we went. There was some information that she gave me prior, which I had forgotten to read, and so when I asked her the redundant question, she was patient and gracious with her answers (and not even mentioning that she already gave us the information). The place was beautiful, with many personal touches and unique decorative items, and of course, incredibly comfortable beds -- and I couldn't believe that they were willing to rent their property for such a cheap price. With the money we saved by going there, we bought a nice lunch for everyone :) Another great thing were the Bunkhouses that were separate from the main house. This allowed some to stay up and play board games late into the night (loud), while others slept soundly in their quiet bunkhouses. Finally, the lake, the woods, and the dark night to see the stars were great for recollecting and resting from the busy world.

Fun in the rain
May surprised us with a downpour but the cabin was comfortable, warm, and quiet. We caught and released fish even in the rain. The only other wildlife we saw were birds and a big turtle. Took a pleasant two hour hike between storms and enjoyed the fresh air. We missed having access to WiFi or cell service but it nice to know a land line was available for emergencies. The satellite tv worked great and we enjoyed the easy access from the deck to the lake. Since it was only the two of us, we only used the downstairs bedroom which was very comfortable. Other members of our party decided not to attend due to road conditions however, with our AWD the single lane muddy road leading to the cabin wasn’t a problem. The Mar-Val market in Georgetown has a wide selection of groceries and the Frog Pond Antiques & Gifts shop on Main St has interesting merchandise. Looking forward to doing more exploring in the area on a future trip. Thank you for sharing your confortable cabin.

Perfect place to recharge
The best vacation we've had. Were do I start? We were looking for quite, and that's what we got. We almost felt like we were the only people there. We loved listening to the frogs at night and enjoyed watching the geese search for fish from the deck that overlooks the lake, in the day. We even ventured out on the canoe one afternoon. The cool nights and nightly fires (in the fireplace) with firewood provided by the owners was a much appreciated provision. The kitchen had everything we needed and more!! I've stayed in other VRBO's, there has always been limited silverware, plates, pots, and pans. Not here! Abundantly well stocked and everything has been thought of, even down to the ice cream scooper. History surrounds this area starting in Georgetown too Coloma State Park, which was within 20 min drive as well as Placerville. Although we didn't bring our family with us, after seeing the bunkhouses, games, rope swings, canoe, huge dinning and seating area on the deck....we can't wait to share this lovely serene cabin with them next time. Thank you for sharing this getaway with others, Jeff and Shary. The love and care that has been put into this home is evident.

Perfect Place
In April my family spent a well-rested weekend at the Lagunita Lake House with my best friend and her family. The spacious home is warm and rustic with an incredible touch of class and character throughout. The bedrooms are very spacious, and the beds were comfortable with lots of extra bedding and pillows. It was clean and well kept. The younger kids loved the bunk beds and the older kids loved the cabin, which gave them some space from the younger kids. The detached cabins also offer great multi-family get-away opportunities. There is nothing short to do; it has everything from a large selection of books, movies and board games to an infinite opportunity for exploring outdoors or just looking at the scenery. We explored around the lake, and the numerous streams and waterfall cascading within a very easy walk of the home. We were able to enjoy the snow (light snow at the house, but enough to make snow balls, and deep snow was a very short drive up the road for sledding). We found everything we needed in a loaded kitchen such as a waffle maker, griddle, blender, crock-pot and plenty of cooking utensils. The large kitchen table was very accommodating. We grilled ribs, pork and chicken on the Weber BBQ an enjoyed one of the most picturesque views of Lake Lagunita from the deck. The home is a very easy drive, even on Friday afternoon when we headed up; and the German restaurant just up the street had awesome food and friendly staff. We browsed the antique stores in town and found the lady who worked at the grocery store deli quite charming and full of stories and history about the town. We can’t wait to go back when the weather warms to enjoy water activities on the lake. Thanks for sharing you’re home away from home. We look forward to making this get away a family tradition.

For all you BUSY FAMILIES out there ...
We are a family of 8 (plus 2 "adopted" friends of our kids). As you can imagine I can NEVER claim boredom. Life is busy, fast-paced, constant, demanding and FULL. When searching for our next summer trip, I came across Lagunita, and after reading the reviews I KNEW this was the escape our family NEEDED. Life has presented us with many challenges and I was really searching for a place for our family to SLOW DOWN and RECONNECT ... and Lagunita delivered!!! It seemed as though we officially left the worries of the world behind the moment we headed down the bumpy dirt/gravel road to the cabin. It usually takes us 2 days to decompress and enter "vacay-mode" ... NOT here ... instant peace and joy! The environment captivates all senses ... a kind of beauty and awe that can only be found in nature. The locale is ideal. The kids could run free and enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, chillin' in the trio of hammocks, reading, and moments of just being quiet and taking in the outdoors (fish, turtles, ducklings with mama, moths that look like large butterflies, fuzzy caterpillars and of course the friendly neighbor dogs). Our kids ages 5 - 18 NEVER complained of being bored. The owners Shary and Jeff are rare birds, in that, their level of kindness and generosity and welcome are beyond compare! We felt like extended family that they opened their beloved getaway home to. It could not have been more comfortable. The cabin/bunkhouses are well kept, clean and stocked with all you need to stay. I cooked most meals there and never was lacking for kitchen supplies (pots/pans/utensils/dishes for 10, etc). The beds are comfortable, sheets clean. Bathrooms were clean, stocked and functional (plenty of bath towels!) Highlights: Playing in the lake ... for sure (fishing/swimming/rafts). Loved opening the window in master to hear the waterfall in the quiet of the morning while gazing out upon the beautiful lake. Smores on deck at night - yum. Playing Left Center Right dice game with salt water taffy - winner takes all! Popcorn and movies with older kids when "littles" went to bed. Driving short drive into Coloma for day. Sunday Mass at St James Catholic Church in Georgetown ... what an amazing parish! We have been blessed by this trip in infinite ways. The memories made will be cherished by our family for a lifetime. THANK YOU Jeff and Shary for your immense kindness and generosity in sharing Lagunita with others as you do! Blessings to you!

Idyllic Haven
Hated to leave this idyllic Haven. The pictures don’t do it justice. The deck was so nice, the hammocks so relaxing, the lake so peaceful. Nice window seats and showers. Loved getting in the green boat whenever we wanted and paddling around. Some details: there is wifi but it costs per week. Strong enough for zoom but gets slower in evening. Weekends are noisier with more lake visitors. Fun rope swing for the very hearty! Cute trout? in river, a local dog comes every day to stand on the dock and jump after the fish and she’s SO cute! Kitchen has every sort of cooking implement, don’t worry about bringing measuring cups. You can tell a real family owns this and uses it sometimes, it’s well equipped. There are two really nice bedrooms in the cabin plus 1 bunkbed room. The bunk houses: 1 is a queen bed with bunk beds and no bathroom. The other has two double beds ? with a toilet and sink and the laundry room. There is an outdoor griddle and separate gas grill. We left the rock and roll albums puzzle for you guys :). Would love to come back in a couple years!! Never been so relaxed.
