Griffith Mountain Manor / Lakefront Townhouse

Summary:
Griffith Mountain Manor is the perfect place to experience the best that Colorado has to offer. Step out of your back door and into the magical Rocky Mountains. Enjoy hiking around Georgetown Lake, or summit Saxon Mountain, Alpine Peak, or Griffith Mountain. The slopes of the Loveland Ski Area are only 20 minutes from your doorstep, while the Pepsi Center and Elitch Gardens are just 45 minutes the other way. With easy access to the interstate, Colorado is at your fingertips!

The Space:
THE SOFA BED IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE:
Griffith Mountain Manor is a welcome oasis in an alpine climate. A soothing color palette accentuated by hardwood floors, wood cabinets, and warm sunshine remind you to catch your breath and relax. The great room on the first floor offers a pull out sofa for two with fresh linens, pillows and two super-comfy chairs to enjoy the gas fireplace, watch television, engage in entertaining conversation, or plot out your adventure for the day. Whatever you decide to do is supported by the fact that the kitchen is just mere steps away.
Whether you’re making flapjacks or flamiche, you will feel right at home at Griffith Mountain Manor. The kitchen is outfitted with gorgeous stainless steel appliances, and the refrigerator has a water and ice dispenser. With plenty of counter space to spread out, you won’t have any trouble staying organized. The attached breakfast bar supports comfortable seating for three, or you can move the chairs and create a buffet-style serving area.
A half bathroom is located just off the kitchen. From the securely half-curtained window, you can see the mountains accessible to you from the back door, located at the rear of the kitchen area.
Upstairs, two bedrooms and two full bathrooms fill out the furnishings at Griffith Mountain Manor. The master bedroom has a king bed, dual nightstands, a ceiling fan, and carpeted floors. Double windows and plenty of additional lighting will illuminate you 24/7, and a super-comfy sofa sits at the foot of the bed. The master bathroom is attached to the master bedroom. It contains a super-steamy glassdoor shower, his and her sinks, and acres of counter space.
The second bedroom features an oversized window that blankets the room with Colorado sunshine over 300 days a year. Offering plenty of soft pillows, the second bedroom includes a full bed as well as bunk beds with twin mattresses. A ceiling fan and wall to wall carpet enhance your overall comfort, and the second bathroom gives you the option to either take a shower or a long, hot bath.
Colorado adventures can get your clothes messy, so there is a stacked washer and dryer in the hallway for your convenience.
When you want to experience the Colorado Rocky Mountains, whether it be from a cozy living room or at the top of a legendary 14’er, book your stay at Griffith Mountain Manor!

The Neighborhood:
Originally a mining town in the 1800s, Georgetown was named after George Griffith. Looming over Georgetown, Griffith Mountain was named after George’s brother, Davis. Griffith Mountain tops out at 11,558 feet, and you can sign the climber’s log once you make it to the top. If you want to conquer one of Colorado’s legendary fourteeners, just drive down to Guanella Pass. At 14,065 feet above sea level, Mount Bierstadt will offer you the view of a lifetime. Backcountry ponds, streams, snowshoeing, and even skiing at the long-closed Geneva Basin are all waiting for you just up over the hill. If you want to stay within the civilized confines of Georgetown, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, shopping, art galleries, walking tours, fishing, mine tours, and fine dining are all within easy reach.

The City Of Georgetown:

Tiny, charming and perfectly situated at the foot of Guanella Pass in the Rocky Mountains – Georgetown is characterized by its bygone-era charm and walkable downtown. While strolling past local museums, historic buildings, ice cream parlors and shopping nooks, you may forget that you’re only an hour from Denver! This lovely town is glorious in summer, alive with bighorn sheep in fall, and festooned with holiday cheer in winter. And to top it all off, world-class skiing is just a short drive away!

Nearby highlights include Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, the Guanella Pass scenic byway and Bread Bar in Silver Plume. Looking for a challenge? You can bag two beginner-friendly 14ers – Mount Bierstadt and Grays Peak – during your stay. Rafting, fishing, mountain biking and kayaking are also popular activities in the region. Long story short? Georgetown has something for everyone, making it the perfect home base for your Rocky Mountain adventure.

Other Things to Note:
Inquire today about deals on 30+ day rentals!

Note that there is no AC in the town home. This is normal for homes at 8530' elevation. Open the windows and enjoy the fresh breeze, even in the middle of the summer!

Our neighborhood is currently experiencing the construction of a new hotel. While we do not anticipate significant inconvenience for our guests, we acknowledge that there are some aesthetic consequences that come with development in the area. We encourage you to explore the charming downtown district, take a stroll around the lake and take advantage of the many hikes and scenic drives around Georgetown.

Comfortable space, but surrounded by noisy construction
This little condo had plenty of space for my husband and I and our two teenagers. The view from the back porch was gorgeous, and access to the lake was perfect. Some minor things could use some attention - the overhead light in the kids' bedroom didn't work, and the remote to the ceiling fan in that room also didn't work. We were hopeful that there would be some kind of patio furniture (or even camp chairs) available so we could sit on the back patio and enjoy the view, but there were none. The biggest drawback was the construction work going on right outside the front door. Since there is no A/C in the unit we needed to leave the windows open to keep the space cool, but the noise from the construction work was extremely bothersome. Closing the windows kept the noise out, but left the space stuffy and uncomfortably warm.

Great townhouse for our Ski Trip
Unit was clean, had enough space for our family. Garage was great place to store ski equipment and easy in/out with garage code. Also, communication was very good with host, they were quick to respond every time. We went to three different ski resorts so it was a little far a couple days. Now that we have explored, next time we would pick one Ski resort and stay closer to that, but that has nothing to do with this unit. If I had to say anything negative, they should have a few more cups/glasses, my wife used the one wine glass we could find. Also, buying a $100 pot set would go a long ways as well, stuff was pretty old. 4.5 stars overall again, buy a couple more glasses and a new pot set and would be 5.0 of 5.0 stars.

Great Getaway in Georgetown
We loved staying here. The location is very convenient to neighboring towns, close to fun hiking options and adventures like whitewater rafting. We loved being on the lake and being able to walk to the brewery/restaurant. The quaint downtown was only a mile away, and there were several great options for food, coffee shops, breweries, and local shopping. The home was inviting and clean, with room to sleep at least 6 comfortably. We enjoyed the trails around the home. We would definitely come back!

Amazing location!
I was in awe of the view from the back of the property. My husband and I enjoyed walking around the lakes and the stream. We also went on the train ride and silver mine tour and walked around downtown Georgetown. We were close to Mt. Evan’s so we made that drive to the top and that was an amazing experience. I highly recommended staying in this location!

Condo is in a great location to several areas. It is right off I-70 so you do hear highway noise. This was not a negative for us, just bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Condo was clean. Property management was great and quick to respond to any concerns.

Quiet, clean, comfortable with a great location
My family and I were needing a place to stay for a quick trip skiing that was near everything. We found it. We have always stayed in the village of where we skied, but we wanted something this time close to a few different mountains. This location in Georgetown is right off of I70 and 20 mins from Loveland, 25 from A basin, 30 from Keystone, 35 to Copper and Breck and 50 to Winter Park. Hard to beat. The beds were great - king memory foam in a large master and bunks and a double in the 2nd bedroom - great for our three kids. With three bathrooms, we were never wanting. Kitchen was stocked well with everything new. I was initially concerned with being so close to the highway with noise, but the place is absolutely quiet. This was a winner for us. Great communication with the management too made it a bonus.

Wet sheets and towels
All of the sheets on each bed were so damp that we could not use them to sleep on- they were cleaned by their cleaning service and placed back so quickly that they were not ready for us. Even the extra towels and extra sheets in the closet were wet. I’ve never experienced something like this at an air bnb and when we called the manager they did not do anything to help our situation. There was no way we could dry all of the sheets in time for us to all be comfortable since we put our kids to bed a little later then usual. Needless to say this was an unpleasant experience with no solution offered and I’ve yet to hear back from trying to contact their manager. Would NOT recommend.

nice place to stay in
it is a very nice place for a family to stay for holidays and vacations. The location is great and very convenient. You can travel to many ski resorts within 30-40 minutes. The house was new, clean and neat. The only thing bothered us was the internet. The WiFi was inconsistent, slow and dropped frequently. My kids played games online and complained a lot.
