Overall a nice hotel. I don’t understand being charged for an additional person for a room that is advertised as sleeps 4 and we had 4 guests. Only 2 bath towels were provided and I had to request additional linen for the daybed multiple times.

I enjoyed a relaxing and cozy stay at The George. The rooms are new, spacious, with super comfortable beds and bathrooms. I booked a double room and felt it was a perfect stay for families and friends. There is a small pool and gym available for use but I think few actually use it. Getting around George Town by private hire car is very quick and reasonably priced. The naming of the rooms on Expedia could do better to match what is on the property's website. It would also be nice if there are more relaxing seating corners so that we can wait that few hours before flight departure.

OMG. Managing Staff is completely inappropriate and apparently dangerous. I saw customers being prevented for leaving the establishment by a random street thugs associated with the George Hotel simply for attempting to file a complaint about her interaction with staff. After a very aggressive few moments she was finally allowed to leave after being assaulted by the random street clothes man intimidating her. I have never seen anything like this in all my years of travel. Needless to say I checked my family and I out immediately (once the coast was clear). Be mindful of your family in this place Expedia members. God bless you

I really enjoyed the stay at The George. This is a brand new hotel in the heart of Penang. The facilities at the hotel was great. The room was wonderful with great, modern amenities including a bathtub. The breakfast at the hotel was superb with plenty of local food options. The hotel is near many local tourists hotspots and it was easy walk to many of these locations. There were also a ton of great local food choices which was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and I was also greeted by the GM who was very helpful during my stay there. I saw the GM daily and she recommended local food options which were all great!! Since it's a brand new hotel, less than a month old when I was there, there were a couple of minor teething challenges. But the friendliness of the staff and the hotel location overcame these minor hiccups. Next time when I'm in Penang, this will be my go-to hotel!!
