In the heart of the historic centre of Genoa, in one of the oldest and most fascinating areas of the city, there is a recently renovated comfortable apartment.

The apartment consists of an open-plan entrance with a fully equipped gas kitchen, a living room with a comfortable sofa bed and a wardrobe. The sleeping area consists of a bedroom with a hypoallergenic double bed, bedside tables and a complete bathroom. The apartment is equipped with a heat pump and does not have air conditioning.

The KIKE House is located in a strategic position, just a few steps away from all the main attractions of the city. The Old Port, one of the most important tourist centres in Genoa, with its museums, restaurants and shops, is only 300 metres away. Piazza De Ferrari, the Carlo Felice Theatre, the Ducal Palace and Porta Soprana, the house of Christopher Columbus, are just a few minutes away.

The apartment is on the third floor of a building without a lift and is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

We did not have a good experience with this property- the property is managed by a 3rd party partner of VRBO and even though we tried to contact the property at least 5 times before our stay, we never received any response them. We emailed through VRBO, through the 3rd party vendors business email and phone and email are,pts through WhatsApp. No response ever. The payment link they sent didn’t work the first 5 times I tried it and I finally contact VRBO support for their help. They were able to get another link sent that worked. When we arrived at the property, the area was really kind of sketchy. We located the building and the inside corridors were filthy- littered with trash and broken pieces of wall- the apartment was okay, but getting to it was really scary. A block outside the door the police arrested someone. I don’t know what he did, but it,took 5 police officers to get him in a police car. We decided we did not feel safe in that area and found a hotel nearby that was much better. I contacted the person who sent me the email with check in instructions and told her we did not feel safe inthe property we had rented and that we were not going to stay there. She responded that she understood and would contact the property manager about a refund. That was 4 days ago and we have heard nothing. This is my first bad experience with VRBO and we will see how they handle this complaint.
