Just steps from the beach, this cozy one-bedroom condo is the perfect spot for a couple or close friends to get away. Inside, you'll find a bright open living area with comfortable furniture and a flatscreen Smart TV. Prepare delicious meals in the full kitchen featuring an electric stove and oven, and enjoy your creation at the dining table with seating for four or outside on the furnished patio as an al fresco experience while listening to the distant ocean waves.

The beach is a short walk over the sand dune. Enjoy your morning coffee or the sunset on one of the benches overlooking the beach or on the Adirondack chairs on the oceanside patio. Challenge someone to a match of tennis at the Gearhart shared courts, enjoy a few rounds of golf and a casual meal, beer, or cocktail all walking distance from the condo. Explore Lewis and Clark historical sites, the Columbia River Maritime Museum, the Astoria Column, local shops and breweries, and a good meal in Astoria, 15 miles north of the condo. Head south two and a half miles to Seaside and walk the Promenade filled with shops, places to eat, kayaking, an arcade, along with several other activities and great people watching. Return to the condo and use the free WiFi to post a selfie to your social media, plan your next day’s adventures, or download a new playlist to your device. You can’t go wrong with this Gearhart vacation rental for a couples retreat, a getaway with a close friend, or some relaxing ‘me’ time.

Bright, airy beach cottage
Cute cottage which was great for us to explore Astoria, Cannon Beach and Seaside. The sky lights in the main room are wonderful. Basic cooking supplies and dishes to cook some meals in. Mini dishwasher so if you have an extended stay, you may load more than once. There may or may not be laundry soap - there was not for us. Owner does not allow early check-in.

This is my second time staying in this condo. It is so quiet, one can only hear the sounds of the waves beyond the dunes. We enjoyed quiet walks on the beach, only five minutes from our door. We will return.

Cute, but needs cleaning/upgrade
The spot itself is very cute. It’s a quick walk to the beach or to downtown Gearhart. But, as others have mentioned, it is in desperate need of a deep clean; baseboards wiped, dusting, vacuuming under furniture, etc. The shower door is also quite grimy and needs to be replaced. It was fine for what we needed but I think with some cleaning and upgrades it could be much cozier and clean feeling.

Loved it!
The location of this place can't be beat, they should change the name to cozy by the sea! We had an awesome 4 night stay here. A few things to note though, the shower door wouldn't stay closed, they don't provide laundry detergent, and the dryer is very loud (and in the bedroom) so plan accordingly. We didn't notice any issue with the the tv, and everything else was fully stocked and clean. We'll definitely be back, thank you!

Gearheart Getaway
This is a beautiful little condo well furnished and comfortable. The things we used were very clean, like the bed, bathroom, floors, kitchen supplies. Other things at the property need attention: dirty baseboards, dirty windows and sliding door tracks, mold growing on outside of shower door, kitchen stove venting, large dust bunnies under bed and dresser. Beach front description is deceiving because there are large sand dunes between the condo and the ocean, so you cannot see the ocean and the walk there is a rocky, rough trail - about half a mile. I appreciated the washer/dryer with complementary detergent. There was not much room for our personal items, as the closets and drawers were full of owner things and extra blankets, pillows, etc. The setting is quiet and peaceful. We had to cancel one of our three nights reserved and the rental agreement said 100% refund for cancellation within that time frame. We received only the current rental value of one night + tax, which was lower than what we paid, and none the fees were refunded. That was a 35% refund of what we had paid for that night. Many pros and cons, but we will not be returning to this property because it did not meet our needs.

Good Luck Finding This Place
The name of the condos is Surfside, not Surfsand. It is not on Ocean rather the address is on 13th. The entry combo lock is on the door in a dark hall and hard to see(in the daytime). TV has 4 remotes and no instructions-4 different adults, including 2 with similar systems, unable to make work. Bath needs updating, rust, worn, caulking in shower. Very slow sink drain. And the bed has seen much better days-very squeaky. Could be a real cute place, but needs updating. The location is excellent and fairly private, close with easy access to the beach.

Lovely location with amenities
This is our second time staying in this complex, and we continue to enjoy its proximity to Gearhart beach. Extra positives included wifi with a fast connection, a small washer-dryer, which made our trip much smoother, and a grill on the private deck, which was very handy! We would definitely rebook in this complex again. The unit's basic cleanliness was fine. However, it could benefit from a deeper clean, including the sliding door tracks, dusting/lint removal (especially the cable assembly, bathroom fan vent, and dryer), and shower grout. There also were no instructions for the four remote controls to the television/streaming array. Not that we were there to watch much television, but if we'd wanted to, it would have been nice to have a guide.

Needs better cleaning and guest storage options
This unit is private and secluded from the rest of the surrounding complexes. The skylights make it bright and inviting. The floor plan is inviting and comfortable. Cleanliness: We checked in for a 4 day stay, and found the cleaning to be severely wanting. • Coffee grounds were found in the coffee pot and the burner plate never cleaned as black when wiped up with we paper towel. • Plates in the cupboard were put away wet. • The floor around the garbage pail had food scraps and coffee ground about it. • The area rug was not vacuumed as there were popcorn crumbs and kernels on the rug. • The laminate floor never saw a cleaning in months if not years, other than a wet Swifter mop which wets and moves the dirt around without picking it up. There needs to be an actual floor clearer product and mop used. The floor in the entry, kitchen and living area were filthy. In the reflection of the skylights, streaks of dirt and bare footprints could be seen within the dirt. A wet paper towel wiped within a small area turned black with grime. o The owner requested guests to remove shoes in the unit, but we could not ruin socks or dirty feet, and shoes remained on. We reported the problem of cleaning to the Vacasa number provided by the owner, and were told someone would respond. As of departure date, 5 days later, no one responded by phone or in person to remedy the reported lack of cleaning. The beach
It is not fancy but comfortable if you’re mostly out like we were. The best part is the location to almost a private beach that has sand dollars. It is peaceful and as we went after Labor Day quiet. I felt very safe there too as an older couple as on a nice golf club neighborhood.

Weeklong stay for Choir Conductor's Workshop - delightful.
We enjoyed 5 days at the ocean condo in Gearhart. The location was a perfect combination of quiet, west facing windows to the ocean, beach access within 100 meters, quick access to downtown, Seaside, and Warrenton. Our one bedroom was nicely furnished, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The only problem we had was from the outside hallway light shining in the door window all night. It was a delightful stay for us. Highly recommended.

Highly Recommend!
We stayed here for our 20th anniversary for 5 days and it was perfect. The beach was so close, the patio where we could hear the waves. The location is close to everything. The homey yet beachy vibe of the inside. Everything worked well and was clean. It was also really quiet and we loved McMenamins right across the street. We would definitely stay again!

Perfect Quiet Getaway
This location is private and quiet with great access to the beach. You can hear the beach waves from your windows and sliding glass door. Seaside is minutes away but yet, far enough away for peace and quiet. We have been staying on this property for over 6 years. We come back year after year due to the privacy and quietness. We are always extremely pleased with the property’s different accommodations. Worth the stay!!
