Great house close to downtown
This house was very spacious and exactly as listed. The check in and out process was very easy and the host was very responsive. The location of this house was amazing! Just a short walk to downtown where all the activities are. Definitely recommend this house for others looking to explore Gatlinburg.

We were not told about the construction across the driveway, one of the reasons we chose this property was the picture showed a nice yard. There was no yard due to the construction and was muddy where the trucks had been, no grass to walk dog.

We had a great stay! Cabin/house was in a fabulous location. Kitchen floor was very sticky something had been spilled and it could have been a tad cleaner, but we had a great time and the house was very spacious and ho Ey.

Perfect Location
We stayed here for 5 nights. The house was just as advertised. The beds were comfortable, hot showers and everything was clean. We were able to walk to town and take the Gatlinburg trail to the visitor center. I love when you can park your car and drive everywhere.

Great location and spacious
Shady Woods made a great home base for our family group of 7 for three days. Ten minute walk to the edge of town was nice -- also close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Beds were very comfortable, too. Nice quiet neighborhood. We all enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, corn hole, foosball, pool table and large screen TV. We cooked all of our dinners in the kitchen, too. Great place!

We got to see a bear. It is definitely within walking distance unless you cannot walk up a steep hill. It has plenty of extra linens and paper products. However it could use a deep cleaning. Host was very prompt in responding to me. I would stay here again

we had to contact vrbo support to get the get the access code because the host did not respond after hours of asking. Upon arrival, the house was clean, after checking the house we noticed several windows weren’t locked, and privacy is very limited considering all blinds and curtains had either been taken down or cut, which left us feeling unsafe. Overall the stay was good considering the house was clean and we were given all supplies we would need, plus the hot tub and outside area was well kept.

Christmas vacation
We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas! My husband, our 2 adult children and myself. There was plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and everyone had their own room. We enjoyed the hot tub and had many games of pool! It was an easy walk to downtown. Walking back to house was a slight challenge but not to bad. The property manager was very helpful and answered any questions that we had. We will stay there again

Nice stay
When we arrived the house was so hot but we got it to cool off quickly. There was a ton of bugs we found in the house but that’s to be expected when you are staying in the mountains. The 1st night we didn’t have any sheets for the pullout couch but they brought some to the house the next afternoon. Close to town which was so nice! Beds were very uncomfortable. All in all it was a good stay!

The house smells moldy and you can see mold growing on the ceiling. There were ants on the counters. The fire places don’t work. The mattresses aren’t good. The house is located on a construction site.

This makes the second time my family and I have stayed at this house. Love a the upgrades they have done and continue to do. The living room floor was bowed up a little but I expect them to fix that . Would highly recommend this house...

Great space for kids and pets!
If you’re looking for somewhere close to Gatlinburg, but without the long drive up a steep mountain, this is your place! Private, quiet, and spacious, this property is great for a family. Our dog enjoyed sniffing all around the property and we didn’t have to worry about her falling off of a cliff. The living room and front bedroom are nicely decorated (someone has great taste). We enjoyed all of the seating in the living room. The sectional and accent chairs are really nice. They haven’t finished updating the other two bedrooms, but I’m sure they will be just as nice as the front one once they’re done. The kids enjoyed the pool table and watching movies on the smart TV. This is a great property for families with young kids, older kids, and with pets.

Close to parkway
The location was great! While looking at photos… yes, the furniture has all been updated. However, the actual bones of the house could use some attention. Kind of disappointing that TV’s were not in all bedrooms (we are used to noise and need tv to sleep) so we just didn’t even use 3rd room. The temp in the house doesn’t seem to stay maintained throughout )hot on one side cold on other) But, for location and price it wasn’t bothersome. Just maybe something for property manager to look into. We would still stay again.

Perfect Getaway with kids and dogs
This cabin was perfect and spacious. We had more than enough room for two adults, two young children (5 & 8), and two large dogs. It definitely could accommodate more people, or even another small family if traveling in a group. The cabin has been updated very nicely. We even noticed a few updates that aren't yet pictured in the listing. It was great for small children- no stairs or steep cliffs. The master room was decorated beautifully, and the bed was very comfortable (not too soft). The hot tub was nice and hot, and had a privacy fence shielding it from the driveway and road. There was plenty of flat space to walk our dogs around the house and down the driveway. It was so easy to drive or walk into town and to make quick trips back to the cabin to let our dogs out or let our kids refresh and rest if needed. The internet worked well. We didn't cook really, but the kitchen looked like it had everything one would need to prepare a meal. We even asked to stay an extra night, and the owner was so helpful in accommodating us and making it happen. We will certainly stay here again!

Potential but would not rent here again.
One of the only positives about this rental was the location. The house was covered in dog fur, so much so that we wouldn’t allow our kids to get on the rugs or floors at all. But the beds and everything had fur on them as well. This was from previous renters and not being cleaned throughly at all. All rugs in the rental were heavily stained and looked dirty as well. On top of the house being overall disgustingly dirty there were other problems too, one of the showers continuously leaked the whole time which they were trying to get someone out to fix but didn’t in the 5 days we were there. Also if you have small children bathing is a bit hard as the tub faucets do not work, there is no way to change the water from the shower head to come out of the faucet so we had to use only one bathroom (which the other was leaking anyway) and use the wand from the shower to fill up the tub to bath our kids to the renters credit I did not address this with them because at that point we were just dealing with what he had. Overall location was great and house has a lot of potential if cleaned a ton better and some improvements made.

Property is okay
My family and I stayed from December 20th to Jan 2nd. This property has great potential but as some of the other reviewers put it is on top of a construction site. We we were told that you could not even see the construction and would never hear them. Bright and early the next day you could hear the nail gun go off. I was told that the property would be decorated for Christmas and it was not. We had issues with the sink and dishwasher. Not to mention the cleaning crew showed up on December 31st stating that we were supposed to have been checked out and got snippy with my husband when he told them that we were there until January 2nd. At that point my husband and I decided to leave early the next day because we did not feel safe and was worried that we would leave and find our stuff tossed out. There was also issues with someone dumping chlorine tabs outside the hot tub and our dog got ahold of it. There is also a family owned cemetery in the back. There was other issues too, that I in talk with the rental company on. I also took pictures and videos of everything before and when we checked out. At this point I want my security deposit back and feel like there should be refund of some sort back to us. Side note. You have a great few of the space needle and the fireworks going off, and there is a bear around the property.

Smoky Woods
Although there were some issues with the property, we enjoyed our stay. From this location we could easily access Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sugarland Welcome Center. There were no bad roads, curves, or hills, snd it was a private location with ample parking. The most exciting event was the black bear that strolled through the yard. He made a morning trip and an evening trip. At one time when we were on the deck, he was about 3 feet from us. He looked at us as he continued his stroll. The living room had enough furniture for 8, and it was comfortable. I don’t want to be negative because this place really served our needs. ( There were 6 in our group with ages ranging from 20 to 78.). The kitchen had lots of countertop and storage space. It just needs a larger pan and skillet and more silverware. The pillowcases in 2 bedrooms had hair on them so we did not use them. There were extra sheets and pillowcases so I could have changed them. This is a small matter but it annoyed me. There were 4 flower boxes on the deck snd 3 of them were growing weeds. The management sent someone to mow the grass. The men mowed and weedeated, but they left the weeds in and around the flowerbeds. Someone needs to oay mote attention to small details. The men in our group complained about the pool table. Three of the pool sticks did not have ends on them, and there was no chalk. That did not bother the women since we don’t know much about playing pool. We played it and enjoyed it. Would we stay here again? If we had a similar group, yes. The negatives were minor issues. The positives outweighed these issues.

Nice place. It could use some TLC and updating to finish undone projects...painting, cupboard updates in kitchen and bathrooms, just some shotty repairs left bare and not painted or left with shotty workmanship. Door in kitchen wonky and in need of replacement
