Wake up to majestic mountain views! This is a beautiful vacation condo we call Baby Bear Tracks! We just brightened it up with new recessed lighting and pine tongue and groove walls to make it feel like a cabin!
Enjoy a romantic or simply peaceful relaxing getaway. Our condo is in a highly desirable complex with a resort atmosphere called High Chalet on top of a mountain overlooking Ober Ski Resort and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It is so close to all the fun in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge yet in its own world on top of the mountain!
This unit is easy to get in and out of with 4 small sidewalk steps at the front of the entrance to the building. If you have trouble going up and down steps then you will appreciate this unit. A mama bear and her cubs visit regularly. There is an awesome view of the mountains, and the tram going into Ober Ski Resort. There are two bedrooms with queen beds that are quite comfy with memory toppers too. We are doing all we can to make this a special place and many of our guests visit time and time again. Also if you have a larger group and want condos close together, contact me for information on reserving other units in the complex that belong to us or to our friends.
We aim to keep our condos extra clean for our guests and always will! Please be sure to check CDC guidelines for actions required for good health as long as the covid virus is around.
Sit on your patio first thing in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee and the sunrise and spectacular views of the mountains. I counted 18 turkeys one morning and have seen several bears at one time in the yard by the patio. Always keep a good distance away from them.
Enjoy the pool (Memorial Day until Labor Day) and relax in a nice warm hot tub or sauna. Nestle into the sofa recliner to read a book or to check your social media. If you need a place to work while on a "flexcation" you have hi speed internet that is designated for this condo only. As you unwind from a day of sightseeing or shopping, enjoy your favorite shows on the big screen TV. The instant start electric fireplace will lend a nice atmosphere for your evening!
The condo is next to The Smoky Mountain National Park and Ober Mountain, and it is just a short drive down the mountain to the national park entrance where you can experience the beauty via an auto tour or by hiking one of the many trails to a waterfall, or to panoramic overlooks. Spend the day in Gatlinburg where you will find boutiques, fudge shops, dining, shows, museums, and a great Aquarium. Nearby Pigeon Forge hosts Dollywood Theme Park and a splash park, outlet shopping, live shows, museums, helicopter tours and amusement fun for kids of all ages!
High Chalet Condos are in the Chalet Village area near the top of Ski Mountain and they offer beautiful mountain views as you walk along the grounds. The condo is only about a mile from Ober Gatlinburg which offers year round family fun and it is a short 15 minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg. Be aware that bears often cross the road so drive carefully. The road is winding and is steep at times so be sure to be alert when going up and down. You get used to it I promise. Our road is one of the main roads up the mountain ( it is best to stay on those roads with yellow lines in the center). Once in the complex you will find parking near the entrance to the walk way to our unit. There are four short steps down the walk to get to our ground floor level unit, or if you go to the end of the building there are no steps but there is a small grassy berm.
We also have another 2 bedroom nearby, at vrbo 653549 If you check there, you will see that we also have excellent reviews! We aim to keep both our units nice, pretty and clean. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10 am. This gives our cleaning crew time to get things fresh and clean between guests.

Mountain Vacation
The ride up and down the mountain is a bit crazy with the winding road, but you do get used to it if your drive into town daily. We were sitting on the patio drinking coffee and watching a beautiful sunrise and a bear family came out of the woods and crossed the yard a few feet in front of us.

Perfect mountain stay
We loved our time here so much. It was the perfect place to truly be in the mountains. Beautiful views and we got a visit from a mama bear with 2 cubs. We were able to get Beautiful pictures of them from the safety of the windows. Mama came right up to the windows and porch to check us out as the cubs wrestled.. it really just put the trip over the top for us, to be able to have that experience and i dont rhink we would have gotten that if we had stayed elsewhere. The owners were great about communication. The condo is very nice and super comfortable. Try to come up the mountain for the first time during the daylight. After a couple of trips, it wasnt as intimidating lol. We are hikers and enjoyed the many trails the smokys has to offer while here.

Condo needs an upgrade. Carpet needs replaced or a very good cleaning. Just needs an overall good cleansing and update. Upstairs neighbors were very load and stomped around all night making it very hard to sleep.

Decent Little Condo
We enjoyed our stay ay Karen's condo. It was very clean and had everything we need for a long weekend trip. The beds were comfortable and the view was very pretty. The drive up is quite the trek but location wise it was convenient to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Only negative was the people in the condo above were fairly noisy. Not sure if they were permanent residents or just renting as well. Overall we would stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay!
Our stay was perfect in every way. The place was clean, comfortable, safe and came with a great view! We enjoyed patio sunrises and sunsets, cooking in, hot tub and sauna, mama bear and 2 cubs sighting, and the overall quietness of the area. The road up and down was not a problem and there was little traffic in the area, unlike the city traffic we encountered. It was easy to get to the park or Gatlinburg in a matter of minutes.

We loved staying here. The views are amazing, whether you’re driving the mountain road or sitting on the balcony. We saw bears everyday! The condo is clean and well kept in a quiet area. The only faults found was the shower liner curtain was dirty stinky and ceiling light and fan were dirty. Other than that, overall 5 Stars! Definitely recommend!

Amazing Vacation
First, we were given excellent directions in regards to the best roads to take up the mountain! Very grateful for this as is saved wear and tear on our vehicle. Second, condo was very clean, plenty of extra linens and fully stocked with needed kitchen items for cooking! Finally, the views from the back patio are incredible. We saw bears several times, sunrises and sunsets. The view is indescribable! We had an amazing vacation and enjoyed staying at this property very much!

Amazing stay!
I loved baby bear tracks! It was such a nice place with an amazing view. My daughter loved the pool, hot tub and the little game room they had with a couple of games... its in a great area, about 15 minutes from downtown gatlinburg which was very convenient. We even got to see bears out ok the road twice when we were driving up and down the mountain. I had messaged Karen prior to the trip and she responded quick and answered any questions i had, i will definitely be returning!! 100 percent worth it.

Awesome Condo!
Our family went for a quick Spring Break stay and the condo was exactly what you see online. Karen sent an email with all the info that was needed for the stay a few days before our trip and everything went smooth. The condo was as far up the mountain as you can get and the views were amazing. The condo was super clean and easy to find and there was plenty of parking that was just outside the front door. I would recommend renting this condo to anyone and we will come back for another visit in the future.

The condo is in great shape. Very clean. We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend like the owner does, getting there in time to make your 1st trip up the mountain in the daylight (thanks Chattanooga). Overall, a great place to stay and we would rent again if in the area.

Lovely weekend in the mountains
This location is hard to beat. The views are amazing. The condo itself is cozy and well suited for a small group trip. The host instructions for check in and out were clearly communicated. Overall, I'd recommend this spot for a trip to Gatlinburg.

This was our second stay at this comfy Cabin. Outside, looks like a small condo complex. Inside, pure Cabin feel! Same feel on the small Deck, incredible view, can't see other units. Clean, comfy, quiet. All you could ask for. Highly recommend

A great place to stay
We had a wonderful time and stay in the Smoky's. Karen was quick to respond and was very accomodating. This place is on a very windy road, but arriving during daylight hours was beneficial to get used to the roads. The pool area was great and there are 2 hot tubs near the pool. The views are spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the mountains and enjoying the hummingbirds. Overall a great place to stay!

Beautiful Mountain Getaway
Delightful home with a beautiful view in the mountains above Gatlinburg. The only drawback was that it was at the top of the mountain, meaning anytime you want to go anywhere you have a 15 minute drive down a winding mountain road (well maintained and paved, but a bit of an inconvenience for "coming and going" at will). Plan well and you only have to make the trip once a day, that's what we did. We had 5 bear sightings in the course of 3 days, never felt threatened, but you will want to follow the guidelines for not keeping food in your car!

A nice place for the money
The host was great as far as communication. It would have been nice if it were a little bit easier accessible, I wish I had know. It was a crooked little road for quite a while all the way to the top of the mount it wasn’t terrible. The carpets could use a shampooing. All of our socks and kids feet were black after spending some time inside. Other than that, everything was great. We did get to see a bear when we were loading the car! If you want a nice place secluded, this is a great spot. For us with the kids, it was a little far out to go and do things and come back for naps and go back out again. Great place and host though!
