First and foremost, the wife and I had a mindset of finding a budget friendly cabin so we were able to do basically anything we wanted in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. So with the free tickets you get and the solid price point of the cabin, we felt we picked “the one”.
Location: For a remote cabin, in the woods...on a mountain, it’s not bad! You’re 5-7 minutes from McDonalds/Food City/Family Dollar and more. Very convenient.
View: This will be one of 2 things that was negative for us. You do NOT get a view with this cabin. No mountains...etc. But, again, with the budget we put in place, it was expected. Your view is another cabin, trees and a hill.
Cabin itself: So the best way to describe the cabin is, it’s basically a hotel room. Quite literally. PRICE POINT! Wife and I stay at hotel rooms regularly and this is the exact same, but with a hot tub. Kitchen is fully equipped. Utensils, pans, plates...etc. We bought paper plates. Bring toilet paper! They supply 2 rolls, and we were there 6 nights. Bed is super comfortable. There’s no dresser so the couch became our dresser. Okay so the TV...in the absolute dumbest spot it could be in. See pictures. It’s not on a swivel mount. It’s a wall mount. Tv does NOT move. Just dumb. You have zero service in or around the cabin. Which i mean is to be expected but very frustrating for us. Thankfully there were brochures on what to do around the cities. The hot tub was great. Although Day 1, the breaker flipped and it stopped working. Later that night I randomly tried it again and it worked. No other problems with it during the stay. We had to have maintenance come look at the stove, turns out it was us not turning it on right. But upon us returning to the cabin, he left some creepy finger prints on the attic door above the bed, it turn was already creepy to begin with. Not sure why he would touch the attic door to begin with while being called for a stove. The morning/night before you leave, make sure you have the dishes washed and dried/all trash taken to the dumpster(it was close for us)/all towels folded on the vanity/everything removed from the fridge and such. We did all ours the night before.
So, overall I don’t really feel the price was worth for us personally. It’s kinda one of those things, we did it, cool, now never again.
