This is the first time I've booked here at Carrs for my fiances bday surprise and I called them earlier the day we left which was 6:23PM from Columbus, Ohio. I told them that we were just now leaving and coming from Columbus b3cause I had to wait for my fiance to get off work to come get me to drive there. When I called I was assured they would be ready for me when I got there which would be about 3AM. I had already been charged for the stay prior to our arrival. When we got there the room 18 that they gave us wreaked of a musty mildew smell and of course we brought no candles other than flame less ones to add decor to our room romantically for my fiance to blow out her bday cake candles and just feel relaxed. The room was dirty quit a bit. Like the floors hadn't been swept or mopped, the tub had someone's old toothpaste and shampoo residue all over the tub and shower head was disgusting. We had stains on our comforter it looked absolutely disgusting. I went to the office and asked that it be re-cleaned, the lady wasn't very nice and said rudely she would send someone. I was beyond polite trust me. And after the women came to clean, I moved the wash clothes and hand towels off the sink to set my tooth rush and toothpaste down and there was old soap residue(like alot of it)still left on the sink hidden by the hand towels and wash cloths. I went back up to the office because at this point I'm utterly embarrassed since I booked this place for a sweet get away for my fiance and she was seeing the room as I was. Again rude customer service. The manager then sent somebody again, and the two young ladies she had with her didn't even speak a single word of English. Luckily I spoke a little Spanish from high school and college. The last cleaning lady wasn't rude, actually very kind and kept apologizing. I made sure to tell her it wasn't her fault because I know she just got to work that day. Needless to say I cleaned the room myself. Day two of our stay it was actually that evening we came into our room and I saw a VERY large bug scurry across from the broom they left in the corner of the room to my crocs(shoes,). As I screamed, YES I screamed for my fiance because I thought it was a huge spider seeing as though we cleaned the spider webs and spiders from our room the day before. Just for is to find out it was a huge cockroach. It was fast but I was tired of screaming so I quickly stopped on it and ran out the door. They were rude when I told them. Gross!
