"We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. "Cosy, comfy cottage. A few cobwebs but nothing too bad. Electric radiators in all the rooms so heating wasn’t a problem. Me and my brother stayed as it was close to Mam Tor. The host was a character but pleasant enough and left us to it. He lives in the adjoining property so worth considering if you want total privacy. Overall, we enjoyed staying there."

"Such a unique and awesome property steeped in history and character. Although the weather was horrendous, we stsyed in, played some board games that were available and made some meals and had some quality time together. The decor was amazing and well kept. Fully equipped kitchen with some luxury cutlery and the hosts left some essentials such as eggs, bread, milk, cereals and biscuits. Definitely worth the money. Will stay again one day I hope! "
