Review on the Bear Lake Rental
We loved the configuration and setting of this rental. It was spacious and accommodated our family’s needs very well. The view of the lake through the windowed wall was priceless. I could just sit and enjoy that view all day. There were lots of towels and plates/glasses/silverware. Loved the double fridges. That was super. The island was wonderful.
We did have some issues that I am sure you will want to address before they cause more problems for you down the road.
Bathrooms – Upstairs Master: Drain lever hits backsplash before it is able to close the drain.
Shower Door is hung just slightly off of square causig it to slide backwards away from the tiled wall it should seal to during showers. This allows water out soaking the baseboard that is npw discolored because of water damage.
Barn Door is too small for the opening. Not enough overlap to give the privacy one would desire for using the toilet. Pretty disconcerting to see an inch on either side of the door of the bedroom while sitting on the toilet with the door supposedly closed.🤨 I'm not a fan.
Downstairs King Master suite: Sink drain is nearly closed and can not be opened so that water gathers in the sink and takes forever to drain.
Spiders: We found a number of live spiders down stairs and killed them but a good spray would certainly be good.
Cleaning: We needed to mop the King suite downstairs bathroom floor and also wipe out all of the window sills of dead flies. The pantry floor looked like they had swept all the dirt and debry from the kitchen living area into it.
The Kitchen seemed to be a little understocked for a house with 18 possible guests. Since this is a fairly new rental property I am offering a few suggestions that would have made cooking for our large group a more pleasant experience.
Another cutting board
Set of larger bowls for mixing and serving
Full set of measuring cups ( measuring 8 cups in half cups is kind of tricky)
Colander (as the strainer doesn’t work as well for pastas because holes are too small)
Another large cookie sheet
Large serving and mixing spoons
Dish clothes
Ice cream scoop
Large frying pan
More dish towels
Apron
Hot pads with better heat protection (there were some regular commercial ones and then a couple that were simply two pieces of cloth with batting unquilted – they didn’t insulate at all)
When you replace the stove in the future consider a co
