Quiet Oasis Infused With Art & History
This apartment is full of culture; art of multiple mediums and historical memorabilia, passed down through generations. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. And the shower is amazing! I wish I’d booked a longer visit. Hope to stay here again.

Had a wonderful, restful stay. Enjoyed a brief history from the host and when I complemented him on his garden, he kindly gifted me with a favorite plant. I enjoyed every minute in this very private apartment, very comfortable bed and spacious shower. My tire pressure was low and Greg, the host, even went out of his way to fill my tire, going way above & beyond! Highly recommend!

Terrific Stay
We travel regularly and so glad we found Greg and his property. The home/apartment is nestled in a quiet area and appointed with all the necessities one could need. The surroundings are picture perfect with lots of fruit trees, crepe myrtle, palms, koi pond and more. Greg is a very kind and generous host. He met us the night of our late arrival with umbrellas in a downpour and even offered to give us a ride to a local restaurant to pick up some food as we were towing a trailer and it was hard to maneuver around town and in the rain. This is a gem of a find and you will truly enjoy your stay, we can only hope to come back soon and that the property is available for us to book again.

A Beautiful Place to Revel in Nature
The upstairs apartment was well appointed with most everything you would need for your stay. If you needed something extra the host would gladly meet your needs. The back porch is such a private, quiet, relaxing place to watch the birds and listen to the frogs. Walking and biking trails are close. Bring a kayak if you are there to immerse yourself in nature. A 10-15 minute drive from the U of F, Paynes Prarrie and many other sights.

Amazing!
Amazing experience!!!!!!! Beautiful property and incredible landlord. True Southern hospitality! Every item in the house is very special and has meaning from beautiful art work to ceramic pieces to items dating back to the colonial era- all beautifully and lovingly preserved by Greg (the landlord) as part of his family heritage. Very very clean house and has everything, including dishes, coffee maker, silverware, toiletries, magnifying mirror, etc. Beautiful grounds with fig and other fruit trees, koi pond, swing bench outside. Greg thought of every little thing, including all natural bug spray and citronella candle if you want to sit outside in the evening. The place has incredible energy and is very quiet if you are looking for a spiritual/yoga/meditation get away, which was the purpose of my visit. Beautiful lake near by and sightings of wildlife. Greg was even able to accommodate me with early check in and late checkout! I felt at home at this house. Gainesville downtown is only 5 miles away with restaurants, coffee shops, etc. So happy I found this oasis! Will be staying here again next time I am in Gainesville. If I could give this place 10 stars instead of 5, that would be my true rating! Thank you so much Greg!!!

Amazing restful retreat
Greg is a 5 star host! He greeted me upon arrival and walked the property and apartment with me. He also had local places to visit(similar to hotel stays). Greg's hospitality beats most large hotel concierge service. The apartment is truly amazing, beautiful, and clean. The surrounding areas are a true nature lovers dream!

Peaceful Place
My Mom and I had a wonderful stay! The place is wonderfully decorated with family history. The floor plan was absolutely perfect and comfortable. I used the hideaway bed, since it was a one bedroom, and it was very comfortable. If you want a quiet place close to Gainesville, this is it. Greg provided fresh picked fruit from trees on the property, which was a nice welcoming surprise. You could see turkeys and other birds in the morning. The place gave you a feeling of old Florida, I will definitely use this location when returning to visit my daughter at UF. Thank you Greg.

I stayed here while I was finishing up a big creative project and needed a private get-away, and it was perfect for my needs. It was clean, quiet, and more than comfortable. The grounds are full of gardenias, palms, citrus, and banana plants, and there is a porch to sit and relax on. Just down the road is a little park on the lake. I hope to stay again the next time I need some creative space.

Staying Longer Next Time
This very private garage apartment lives like an enchanted cottage in a setting of palms, pines, oaks, banana plants, elephant ears and the largest mimosa tree I’ve ever seen. The porch is ideal for bird watching with morning coffee and reading on a rainy afternoon. Less than a 10 minute drive from the UF campus, it’s super convenient, but feels as if you’re completely away from civilization. Greg, the host, is gracious and a fountain of local knowledge. Our only mistake was not booking a longer stay. We’ll be back.

Expectations exceeded
This is a beautiful piece of property close enough to downtown while simultaneously giving the feeling of a peaceful retreat from the city. The sounds of nature framed by mature forest is gorgeous. My only regret is being too busy during our visit to enjoy the surroundings more. I had my reservations about staying here opposed to a hotel. I am so very happy to have chossen this, what can be described as a one bedroom apartment. The host Greg is extremely knowledgeable and has filled the unit with artwork of all kinds. I will look for this rental's availability for future stays in the area.
