Summary:
Quinta de Santa Luzia is a fantastically beautiful villa that sits on a traditional working estate which has been in the Blandy family for 7 successive generations. This quinta is producer of the well-known Blandy Madeira wines. It is a unique property, in that it still runs as a farm / estate as they once existed in Madeira. Quinta de Santa Luzia is the traditional family home that sits overlooking the property and the town of Funchal. The views of the ocean and the island are fantastic.

Guests will enjoy the large spacious home with its abundance of history and charm. The villa itself has 9 en-suite baths, a wonderful large dining room, full kitchen, sitting rooms, a full sized snooker table, piano, table football, a tennis court, and a fabulous pool and terrace. Apart from the home itself, guests will have access to the extensive beautiful gardens. The town of Funchal is just a 20 minute walk down the hillside (and there is a bus to bring you back up!).

The Neighborhood:
Located on R. de Santa Luzia, the villa overlooks the charming town of Funchal. The area is rich in history and culture, with the well-known Blandy Madeira wines being produced on the estate. The town itself offers a variety of dining and shopping options and is just a 20-minute walk downhill.

Getting Around:
The property is conveniently situated just a 20-minute walk from the heart of Funchal. For those who prefer not to walk back, a bus service is available to bring you back up the hillside. The estate also offers ample parking for guests who choose to drive.

Other Things to Note:
Our properties are self-catering, but we do make all beds up with linen and towels as well as provide basic amenities such as toilet rolls and soaps for a day or two.
Check-in Times: We offer a meet and greet service until 20:00. Late check-in attracts a supplemental fee:

Extraordinary classic villa
We felt pampered in this huge old (1826) villa. The rooms are large with soaring ceilings. Many of the furnishings are gorgeous antiques; every bedroom has a large bathroom.The grand piano was played every day with amazing sound acoustics. The gardens and grounds are extensive and are like a private arboretum. But most interesting was the history of the place; once we learned who the Brandy’s were we saw their influence all over Funchal. An unexpectedly extraordinary six night stay we will never forget.
