The BEST home away from home !!!
My hubby and I rented this adorable home for 31 days in July. This home is BRAND NEW, is modern, and the perfect get-away!! The kitchen is BIG w/ a huge island which is perfect to accommodate up to 4 people to sit at. The kitchen is stocked w/ everything you could possibly want/need during a stay! We couldn't believe how clean the home was as we entered !!! The check-in process was EXTREMELY easy !! Nick gave all of the instructions prior to our arrival, and it is so convenient to have a keypad door lock so you don't need to mess w/ keys, etc. There is a large flat screen TV w/ a sofa couch in the living room, a writing table and open room adjacent to the kitchen, a bedroom w/comfortable queen bed, & a modern large bathroom w/a glass shower that is gorgeous, complete w/ rain shower system & handheld. Nick has equipped this home with every imaginable amenity, including ample towels, cookware, appliances, brand new LARGE washer/dryer, outdoor barbeque, bike racks, adorable porch w/ swing, etc!!! The A/C was FANTASTIC !! We were able to walk for two short blocks to every restaurant in town, as well as attending Saturday farmer's markets, and music festivals within that parameter. It is an IDEAL home and location and is SO quiet for sleeping every night !!!! Nick & Lisa are the perfect hosts and are extremely courteous, responsive, & such great people that it made our month-long stay the perfect get-away!!! If you love to hike, bike, raft, SUP, etc, this is the home to rent!

Host MIA = Ruined family trip
We arrived at about 4 PM. We opened up our electronic key and it said “not provided by host, Please contact host”. So we tried to reach out to the host for an hour, standing there in 100° heat watching our $200 in groceries slowly spoil. The phone number went straight to voicemail. Multiple texts went unanswered. The next three hours were spent on the phone with VRBO. They told us the two numbers they had for the host had been disconnected. Truthfully, I think they simply were going straight to voicemail, bu there was a language barrier with the VRBO customer support person. As you can imagine, I began to worry it was a fraudulent listing, but VRBO said it was legit. No less than four hours on the phone with VRBO customer support, and a complete lack of contact the host, my teenage son and I got stuck in the last room in town at the balanced rock inn. At two in the morning I got a text from the host apologizing. I responded as politely as I could …. And again radio silence. I’m still not sure if it was an honest mistake like we all make, or if I was tricked. I will now spend the week trying to get a refund, then I guess we’ll know for sure. It wrecked my trip with my son (we flew in from the east coast), and I am still super upset about it. House looked fine, location is fine. I clicked 1 star above because it made me, but really I never got in the place so who knows. Brutal.

Modern, clean and comfy
We had a great stay in this modern, clean and comfy little house. Super great location just 2 blocks from downtown Fruita. Our host, Nick, lives next door and was very friendly. The sofa bed was comfy for our daughter and the bedroom was cozy and comfy as well. The kitchen was well supplied. Nick did a beautiful job building the home. The front porch swing was a great spot to read and our golden retriever enjoyed the grassy, fenced yard. Great home base for a frw days of mountain biking in Fruita! I would highly recommend.
