Cosy cottage close to Ennerdale Water
Our fully furnished mid terraced cottage has superb views across to the mountains at the head of Ennerdale Water. It is ideally situated for exploring the Western Lakes , the most beautiful being Ennerdale a mere 10 mins by car. Crummock , Buttermere and Loweswater are also within easy reach. The wonderful beach at St Bees is 15min by car and the harbour town of Whitehaven a 10min drive. It is a perfect base for walkers , cyclists or those looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings
The house has parking on the road to the front of the property ( on a first come first serve basis ) but always easy to find and there is pedestrian access to the rear via an unmade lane. On the ground floor is a separate dining room to the front and a cosy lounge at the back. The lounge has a Smart TV with Amazon fire stick and a DVD player with a selection of DVD's. Their is also an Echo Dot and a selection of family games and playing cards.( removed at present due to COVID-19 regs on cleaning) Off the lounge is a well equipped kitchen and utility room which can be accessed from the lane at the back via the yard. The yard has a tap/hosepipe - very useful for hosing down muddy dogs and boots. Off the kitchen is a downstairs toilet and shower room. Upstairs are two large double bedrooms one having an en-suite with jacuzzi bath and shower. The front bedroom has superb views over towards Ennerdale Water and the back bedroom has views over the garden to the fields behind the house. Both bedrooms have lovely comfortable double beds that are slightly lower to floor (see photos) than an average bed so be advised if you have mobility issues. There is a good sized garden to the rear across from the yard with grassed areas and a small pond - care to be taken with small children and dogs although this section of the garden can be closed off from the rest by a small gateway. Their is also an enclosed yard for storing bikes and the C2C cycle path runs very close to the village. There is also picnic backpack for 4 people for guests use (removed at present due to Covid19 cleaning regs)
Interaction with guests
We use the house as our holiday cottage occasionally but will not be there for your stay leaving you free to enjoy the whole house and garden with the exception of a locked cupboard under the stairs in the dining room. Entry is via a lockbox by the front door and the code will be provided to you before your arrival. There are some guide books and activity leaflets provided to give you ideas on what to do in the area as well as some local takeaway menus for those days you don't want to cook.

Had a lovely mini-break here, convenient location to explore the Lake District and the coast for a few days. Well equipped kitchen and nice dining room for evening meals. Lovely ensuite in the second bedroom.
My husband and i really enjoyed our stay in Frizington. Great location for going on day trips. Our favourite was St bee's. Stunning views and great walks. Really enjoyed Keswick aswell, especially as it welcomed our four legged friend. Very dog friendly. Overall great trip.
We stayed here for bonfire night due to the location and a very nervou dog
And it was everything we needed and more
Although situated on a high street there ws very little street noise.
The host was very helpful in the lead up to our arrival date and gave use details on local walks and places to eat which were doog friendly.
Overall a wonderful little cottage in a great location and will be definitly be booking again
Very Nice clean and well equipped with all a family needs on vacation, located near famous attractions Errendale water and Whitehaven I strongly recommend to all must visit place
We had a great stay using this as our base to explore part of the Lake District, easy access to lakes and many fells in one direction and to vast beaches a short drive away in the other direction. Loved the jacuzzi bath to relax in after a long day walking. We found the stairs to be steeper than we are acustomed to and also smaller treads, but a good hand rail for support when going to bed with tired legs. Wifi struggled a bit on occasions with demand when trying to stream something on TV and also having a couple of mobile devices attached, but we are used to fibre at home which may not be available yet in the area. We have a dog with a dislike for slippery floors, so it was really nice to find a property with some carpet rather than everything being laminate or tiles. Some local shops a short walk away and plenty of take aways within a 5 minute drive, larger supermarkets about 15 minutes. Debi our host was very responsive to any communication. Overall a very pleasant experience and we would recommend 191 Frizzington to anyone we know looking to explore the area.
Having to clean up after last guest wasn’t a good start we had to go to the recycle centre twice on the first day! The overall cleanliness of the cottage wasn’t good maybe I have high standards but wan’t impressed I have stopped in many holiday let’s over the years and have never been disappointed The property states a garden however was overgrown and not a place to relax in. Location perfect for relaxing week away
Hi . Property be ready nice im be suprise have gate on stairs what realy help me with my wee boy. Big kitchen, nice garden. House need some more clean but it's really nice.
The cottage was comfortable and clean, the host had left welcome pack and even dog treats. Everything was available in the cottage in case you had forgotten anything, even for the dog. Enclosed garden for the dog was great. Very easy to communicate with the host. St Bees and Whitehaven very close with lovely coastal walks, also lovely lake walks nearby. Didn’t go into Frizington so can’t comment on the village. Overall it was a lovely week away 😊
Debi the owner replied to all messages promptly and the house was clean with large bedrooms,.
Very easy process and had a wonderful time. Everywhere we wanted to go was within an hours driving or less

Just what we wanted
We had a lovely stay here. Great location for getting to some of the quieter lakes and coast. Debi was helpful and the property was clean and everything we needed. Thank you.
