The hotel is right next to the train, and our initial room was right on the tracks, so it would have been a little noisy (though to be fair, it’s actually quite well soundproofed, all things considered. Once we got beyond the area directly around the hotel, Freeport was lovely. We very much enjoyed Jones Beach, the Nautical Mile, and the local parks.

The area right around the hotel was dirty, unsafe, and loud - especially when the restaurant next door had live music until 11 pm. But we loved Jones Beach and The Nautical Mile. The town overall was very sweet.
