Load up our brand new cargo lift and settle in. Sink into our living room furniture, enjoy the glow of the fireplace and reacquaint yourself with loved ones. An Artist's View was designed to provide separate 'play areas' for conversation and communing but all open to one another. Upstairs you may enjoy playing a game or two of pool on our regulation size pool table or watch a movie on the 65 inch smart TV. For conventional entertainment you will find Galveston conveniently within 20 minutes. Whether you are inside or out, An Artist's View will feed your soul and deliver the vacation you deserve.

'An Artist's View' is built remotely on beautiful, sandy beach. Both upper and lower decks look out over dunes, rolling surf and 88 acres of unspoiled, nature-filled wetlands perfect for butterfly counting or bird watching where Brown Pelican's and others tour daily. The beach is quiet and allows for walks on uninterrupted sand for miles. Don't forget to bring a basket for the variety of shells you'll want to add to your collection. From our decks you can view the Bay behind us as well as crashing surf in front. Enjoy a happy hour or two on the upper deck and experience the amazing sunsets you'll find in late afternoon. Texas skies have never been bigger. Coming in April 2021, a cargo lift from ground floor up to deck by the front door!
We hope you enjoy the natural environment that surrounds our home! Galveston is a short twenty minutes away.

Summer Get Away
Family really enjoyed the stay, house was very comfortable and had everything needed. It's very near the beach and access was easy. Great fun for the kids. Host was quickly responsive when we had questions. Look forward to staying here next year on our "get away".

This was a gorgeous property to spend our family Christmas. We had a few electrical issues due to weather but the owner was so attentive and the or else was resolved quickly . I can not recommend this house more! We will definitely be back.

Family vacation
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very nice. The kid’s especially liked playing pool and being right on the beach. Walter was prompt in responding to our questions. Unfortunately we had to leave early due due to Hurricane Beta but Walter split the cost of our final day. We would definitely rent this home again.

All around great stay
The house was great for 3 families of 4 on a long beach weekend. We cooked all of our meals there and the large kitchen was very well-stocked for all of our needs. The house is right on the beach which was very convenient for carrying all our beach gear down for an all-day stay or just hopping down for a morning walk or an evening fishing session. Homeowner was very responsive and helpful when we needed to find some additional linens for the pullout couch but that was the only thing we found ourselves needing the entire weekend. Our group has been traveling to the Texas Coast for a beach weekend every summer for 8 years and I think we may have found our first repeat beach house! 10/10 Recommend! :)

Perfectly Perfect!
Just simply could not have been any more perfect in any way! As a child I'd stayed in a beach house and have waited years to relive the experience. Everything was as promised and the quick & courteous response from the homeowner to my several inquiries was especially appreciated. The home is beautiful-clean, big, open and comfortable. The kitchen is WON-DER-FUL!!! A very comfortable,and pretty, home. I felt so priviledged to be in an artists home-love your work, Ms. Amanda! It reminds me of my sis-in-laws. The decks are simply awsome. Loved it, loved it. Last morning there the dolphins really tried to outdo their selves, putting on such a show. It was truely awsome. The beaches were very clean. I don't care for crowds and especially loved that this neighborhood, beach was very quiet and peaceful. Felt very safe w/the grandkids coming and going. We took plenty of gro's and papergoods but still found ourselves running out of this or that. It was a small price to pay the 2.00 fee (both ways) to get to the little Chevron/Gro up the road toward Galveston. See you next year!

Wonderful property, just beautiful and felt homey. The artwork was lovely. Had the best communication with the owner, he was messaging me back within minutes and just really the best communication I have ever had with a property. The neighbor is just as sweet as everyone says. We will definitely book this house in the future.

Great house - great views!
My trip got cancelled by Beryl, so Walter allowed me to reschedule and gave me an extra stay to make up for it. I couldn't get the family back together but I came to have a quiet remote work few days. The house was lovely and I can't wait for my whole family to enjoy it for our rescheduled date. I loved the porches to sit and drink coffee and watch the waves.

Our stay at the beach house was simply perfect, despite a recent storm that had passed through. December at the beach
The reviews for the house are impressive, and rightly so. I think potential renters might benefit from information not included in other reviews. So, that is the information I will include in my review. First, the cleaning staff does an excellent job keeping the house clean, and not just the obvious places such as countertops. Examples of the cleaning staff's detailed attention include floorboards and window sills that are dust free and well swept and mopped floors. Every member of my family remarked upon the cleanliness of the house. Plus, the cleaning staff does not use cleaning supplies that leave a heavy smell of chemicals in the house, a problem I encounter in other vacation rentals. Second, the kitchen layout is great for cooking meals for large groups (10 or more people). At times, we had three people preparing a meal and none of us felt crowded in the kitchen because there was so much counter space to use when preparing meals. The kitchen is fully stocked with any item you might need for preparing meals. Third, the layout and furnishing in the first floor provides plenty of spaces for individuals to relax in. For example, there is a large round table that individuals can use to play cards on while other individuals are eating at the kitchen table or sitting near the fireplace. The owners of the house have managed to furnish the first floor with user friendly spaces without making the first floor feel crowded with furniture and silly little knick-knacks. Finally, there is one item mentioned in other reviews that deserves to be mentioned in this review - the lift. I have rented multiple houses in Treasure Island but never one with a lift. Being able to load all luggage and groceries onto a lift was, as one reviewer wrote, a game changer. Walter and Amanda, thank you for providing such a wonderful and relaxing vacation rental!

Wonderful Beach Vacation in the perfect house!
Our family of 10 including my 4 grands thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well thought out beach home. Not only was the home gorgeous it was extremely comfortable with all the amenities needed to enjoy our stay. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for a vacation stay at the beach. Our family had enough room to spread out and had so much fun viewing all the amazing artwork in all the rooms. The front row view from the deck on the beach was breathtaking! Our family spent alot of time out on the deck including eating at the picnic table. The foot shower on the deck was a brilliant idea we had not seen before. This was our 6th annual beach vacation and will plan to rent this beach home again next year. Thanks so much to the owner who was very responsive when I had questions or concerns.

A family trip to An Artist’s View
Our family had an amazing stay at An Artist’s View. The house was exactly, if not better, than pictured in the listing. Close to the beach and perfect views. The hosts were quick to respond and made our stay absolutely perfect. The luggage lift is now a must have for any future beach vacations of ours! The pool table was fun, the kitchen large with all supplies needed, and the upstairs balcony was perfect for evening full moon and ocean views. The beach was clean, secluded mostly (the most groups we saw in the beach was 9 and that was on our last day). It is of mention that the location is far from any convenience store or restaurant; a 20 minute trip one way at the least, but worth it for such a great local. Thank you to the Wallace family for hosting us!

A great beach stay!
We had 8 adults in their late 30s from various states meeting up for a beach weekend. We also brought our two dogs. This home was perfect fit what we wanted and needed! The kitchen is large and has plenty of kitchen things to make your cooking easier. The bedrooms are comfy and clean. The beach is quiet and only a handful of people were with us to enjoy the waves. The pool table was great for night time entertainment. We all really enjoyed the deck chairs and spent a lot of time out there. Everyone was really pleased with this rental and we had a great stay there!

Spectacular Weekend
We stayed at this property for the weekend to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday party with her friends. We have fully enjoyed our stay. This is a beautiful property in a perfect location right on the beach. With total of 9 people there were plenty of room for everyone. The owner was very accommodating and very responsive. He was happy to let us check-in early which allowed us to setup and prepare before everybody arrived in the evening. He also offered to for us to check-out late, although we could not take advantage of this due to the weather. The house has everything you need to be able to cook and be comfortable. A couple of small things that could be improved were perhaps to make sure that there was a functioning grill (for us this was a big deal as steaks were on the menu for the party) and that the shower floors were clean. Other than that this is a lovely home. We have really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely do this again. I would highly recommend this place.

Favorite Family Vacation Place
Our family (8 adults, 3 teens and one child) enjoys having our annual vacations at this location (we are return customers). It's proximity to the beach, artful and beautiful decor, and more than ample space make it our family favorite. We also love the wrap around and partly shaded deck with plenty of comfortable furniture. This year we watched the meteor shower! The owner is very responsive and check in is a breeze. We hope to return again next year.

Great space for two couples, a baby, and two other adults. We have a perfect view of the ocean. The houses are close to each other, so my dog barked every time our neighbor left the house, thinking someone was coming into our house. The beach was a bit crowded, but we set up our canopy first day, early in the morning, and had no issues the rest of the weekend

Perfect Family Stay
We enjoyed the clean beach. The house was clean and large enough to hold 11 of us comfortably. The balcony had a great view and so peaceful. Grandkids loved the upstairs game room. They played pool for hours which they said was their favorite part of the stay. The owners were prompt answering questions. I would recommend this place to anyone with teens or a large family.

Roomy and Perfectly Located
The house had plenty of room (I believe the largest near the beach), is well furnished/equipped, has a perfect view of the beach/ocean and is located on a good part of the beach. The beach is a short walk so no need for a golf cart. If you have a large family and are looking for room to spread out, then this house is a great choice.
