This historic turn-of-the-century limestone rock home is set in a verdant pecan orchard, inside the city of Fredericksburg and just 3 minutes from Main Street. This pastoral 5 acre property is a "throwback"; what remains of a 30+ acre farm established by German immigrants in the 1800s. Old Ollie the horse, Texas Dall sheep and native whitetail deer graze in a pastoral scene that effectively becomes your own personal enclave (throw out some corn for them if you don't mind).
Experience the bustle of Main Street, tour Wine Road 290, soak in some tunes at Luckenbach, hike Enchanted Rock, experience the Nimitz Museum, or encounter any of the numerous other unique Fredericksburg offerings, then return to this sanctuary. Relax and refuel.
This is a very cool old house with tons of charm, but it does NOT have all the amenities of typical B&Bs. For example the bathrooms are just regular tub and shower combinations. There is no hot tub. There is cable TV, but NO WIFI (other than perhaps the hotspot capabilities of your personal cell phone). There is a flatscreen TV with basic cable and a DVD player.
The house has quite a lot of character and most guests should find it fitting for their needs and expectations if the goal is to tour, see the sights, experience Fredericksburg and then afterwards have a kind of old-world place to relax with lots of "elbow room". If you are coming to see the Hill Country rather than the TV, this could be the place for you!
