"There were eight adult family members on vacation. The property is absolutely amazing. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed during our stay. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the only sounds you hear are the sheep in the dry moat and the birds that inhabit the property. Though there is no air conditioning in the home, the temperatures were very manageable with the windows open. Chartres is a charming town, away from the hustle and bustle of Paris....

"Francois was accommodating and helpful. We didn’t realize no taxis run on weekends so we were a bit stranded at the train station. Luckily, Francois and his friend swooped in and made sure we were transported safely to the chateau. The building, room and property were wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend."

"My wife and I stayed here as part of a short overview trip of France to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The spectacual photos in the listing don't even do this place justice as it truly is a place you'd want to tour if you weren't staying there. But what really made this place speical was the host, Iris, who is a national treasure. She lives in an attached home, and she has made it her mission to purchase and restore this anchient chapel, which was being used as a barn when she acquired...

"We had a fantastic week staying at the gite. We were a party of 8 and we had plenty of room - having two separate houses also worked really well for us. The pool is lovely - a great size, clean, heated and in a lovely setting. The location is beautiful, in the grounds of the chateau, and we enjoyed eating at the large table outside under the tree. The hosts were very friendly and helpful - thank you! In terms of eating out, we had a really delicious meal at the restaurant Aux Trois Pastoureaux...

"This property represents value for money, and provides much space for a family of six. The pool, and having a town within walking distance, made for a pleasant stay. The terrace area, and living area, are great spaces, and the views over the town memorable. Whilst the owner was able to respond to requests ie for additional towels it would have been helpful to have some written information about the house such as arrangements for recycling and how to keep the pool clean. We were disappointed...
