Decent Hotel, Rooms not as pictured!
The hotel was decently located near winter market and other areas of interest, although it was surrounded by peep shows and not a great neighborhood, we quickly walked the street to the metro. The bathroom appeared to be cheaply remodeled and you could see mold and poor quality renovation materials. Smoke/fire alarm would go off when opening the bathroom door after showering {the steam would set it off}. The room appeared clean.

Convenient and cheap in a sketchy neighborhood
Room was ok, but hotel was in a sketchy neighborhood. Since it's cheap, I didn't expect much. I was not surprised in any negative/positive ways.

The hotel was full when I went to check in
I had to stay in a different location due to hotel I booked being full. Where I chose the hotel for its location that has changed

No free breakfast after all...
Although it says breakfast is included, they still wanted me to pay 8 euros. Also, there is no heating but they do have a heated towel rack so I left that on the entire time. Fortunately, the beds were warm and pleasant. Further, this is the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed. You hear every door slam, every foot step (no carpeting in this austere hallway); the architecture just lends itself to amplifying noise in the hallway and the way the doors work, you have to rough with them to open and close so even I had to be noisey with my own room and disturb others. If you want to sleep or work in peace, bring ear plugs (good ones). Good location though to city central and great grocery story just across the street. There was a nice litle frig and hot plate but no pan or tea pot; so bring your own. Otherwise, absolutely no amenities whatsoever. Think of it as an austere Holiday Inn and you will be fine.

Good overnight hotel
This is a good hotel for a one night stay. The hotel room is clean and comfortable for a family of 4. We were told by the taxi driver that the neighbourhood is not a good one because it is the red light area. We did not notice this, but will take care if we stay again. It is only 15 min. from the airport and the price is good for a one night stay.

clean and quiet within red light district
although it is within red light district, the hotel is clean and quite. the room is not well equipped, but it provides complimentary high speech WIFI. the staff needs more smiling faces. The hotel is within walking distance to parks, museum of modern arts, and shopping place the Zeil!

If you don't mind the cat house view behind the Hotel it's in a great location
This Hotel was better than expected considering the price, most of the staff was very nice. They had an elevator. Parking behind was ok, they would have locked up the car on request, the red-light district is evident, but there are always people on the street and I didn't feel that it's dangerous. The receptionist was very nice and we looked at 3 rooms. All of them were renovated and clean. Water pressure everything was there. The room was clean. The mattress was clean, but too soft for me. There were a few broken light bulbs that were fixed the next morning. The walls are very thin and if you are sensitive you can hear a lot, the windows had shutters that you should really use. The walking distance to the main shopping street "Zeil" and the Train station "Konstabler Wache" makes this Hotel a bargain for a few days. I wouldn't recommend to stay here with children, but for a quick trip or just to get around the City it's perfect. The Zoo is close by and to walk to the Main River for a beautiful view of the Sky line is just 10 min. I would go back there, not during the fair, but when the city is quite, free wireless internet was working excellent.

Close to interesting places!
Located very close to Zeil shopping street. There is a sex shop close by and some guys hanging around; but we still felt very safe in the area. The hotel has a small but functional elevator. Wifi was down while we were there; cannot comment on that. Breakfast was nice but quite basic: cheese and rolls, some cereals, and also some cake.

Convenient, clean, and hospitable
Great value for the price at this place. Check in was quick and easy, everything was in order. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel reception was very friendly and helpful and spoke great English as well. Only issue was location. Although it was near a train stop, it was in the heart of the red lights and ladies area. If you have no problem with that, then this is a great place and awesome value.

the hotel sucked. I must say. It is definitely not within walking distance of the main train station. you can take the Sbahn to where the hotel is located, if it is running. In the instance you have to take a cab, it is about 15 euro. Also, it is co located with another hotel, and usually this is the entrance. The room i picked was supposed to be of an apartment variety, however,the heat doesnt work too well, and my shower was completely broken. Customer service was good though. However, i would not recommend you staying there. the neighborhood in which it is located offers all kinds of "late night"activities.

Clean and neat with a simple but nice buffet breakfast. Old but immacuate great value for price, Service excellent need to check in at requested time small hotel not always someone at front desk, Secure parking across road and walking distance to centre. Great overnighter.

Almost perfect
The Residence hotel could be the perfect family hotel. It was the first hotel during our 3 week stay in Europe that actually accommodated us and our 2 teenage kids in one room (composed of 2 sections) with 4 beds. In fact, the rooms of building of the hotel (adjacent to hotel) where we stayed function more as apartments. The location is excellent; however, the immediate surrounding area is a bit shady, particularly at night.

So close to city center
The hotel was very close to Zeil hence very convenient. The twin bed room was quite big with a small kitchen. everything was very clean. The price was very attractive and no complicated check-in check-out. Would definitely go back.

Consider Neighborhood
The room was clean with basic equipment, including a kitchenette, and the staff was friendly. One thing to know: Residence Hotel is located in an area with several bars in the same street and sex shops around the corner. While I was not bothered on the street, as a woman, I did make sure to return to the hotel before dusk.
