We stayed on a houseboat for 2 nights. It was neat and clean and we had no trouble finding the marina...
Our hosts were very amicable, and helpful. Would stay here again!
The boat was docked reasonably close to town in a small marina. It's not IN town but overall good location.
There was more space than I anticipated (It's still a boat, so keep expectations reasonable).
We had a nice stay and I would definitely stay here again.
Amazing hosts! We had some technical difficulties which the hosts responded to within minutes, and unfortunately were unable to charter fish due to weather and craft advisories! Would highly recommend this rental, and we are looking forward to another stay next year!
Nice boat plenty of room for just two of us. Few things needs some attention, had to call owner as couldn't get the door opened, once she explained how to open it, got it opened.. Screen door didn't want to slide.Upper bunk needs a better mattress, and no internet or wifi, Marina is changing their internet, so hopefully they get it updated soon. I think owner should inform you before check in how to open door and no wifi. The people at the marina were very friendly. The keys to the bathrooms and showers are in the rec room. Would stay again as location was great, and it's nice staying on a boat. Also if you are not familiar with the area, all the restaurants close by 9 during the week. One bar stays open but no food after 9 so plan ahead.

Manage Your Expectations
The listing says a lot of things that might be technically true or may have been true at one time. This is a slightly battered fishing boat (screen door doesnât close fully, skylight has parts hanging down, etc). You can use the toilet but not the shower, lots of tvs but they get no signal, beds but the cushions are long past being soft enough for any type of restful sleep (and the top bunk is two separate cushions so you sleep in a crevice on the wood base the whole night.) The marina bathrooms (with showers) are very nice; the internet at the building works well. As long as you know what youâre getting into itâs not bad, but the description should not list wifi as an option, at the very least. The communication was quick, and itâs a lovely place to be in the early morning, but we wouldnât stay there again.

One Time Only
I wanted to give this more stars because it was so convenient to the boat I was on the fishing tournament. Much to my surprise we were right next door!
Here is what cost this place stars:
1. There was no communication. We should have heard by 3:00 for check-in. I left a message since I knew we were coming late that night. No reply. Left another. No reply. Finally, I called VRBO and they gave me their number. I called after 8:00 p.m. and they finally answered and gave an excuse. Fine, it is what is. We got in. Clearly they donât book this a lot though or else they would actually read their bookings.
2. It smelled like poop. Literally. In the message they told us not to use the boat toilet too much. You didnât even want to open the bathroom door because the pee and poop was literally at the top of the toilet. Who does this? It costs $20 to dump a toilet and we just spent how much for 3 nights? You have got to be kidding. We are on boats all the time and that is just unacceptable.
3. My kid had spider bites all over him. Yes, boats are on water and spiders like that area. However, there is only one way for the spiders to hop on and thatâs the ropes. They should be spraying the ropes and the boat.
All in all, it was convenient for our Thursday and Friday tournament. But, it was SO disgusting that we left a day early. We checked out Friday instead of Saturday because we could not do the smell anymore.
Just a mile from downtown Frankfort, the boat was perfect for two adults looking for a different way to stay. Everyone at the marina welcomed us with open arms, and offered suggestions for food/drinks. It's a bit of a step down to the boat from the dock, but this was no problem for us (could be challenging for those with mobility issues). If you are looking for a change of pace from the usual hotel/house, this is a must-do. We have recommended the boat to many of our friends and family!
You can't beat the sunset view over Lake Michigan
We enjoyed our stay, the boat was like a tiny house docked at a nice marina with clean modern facilities. BUT...... We did not receive check-in information until almost 4:00. After repeated attempts to contact the host, we had to call VRBO and have them contact her. The boat was advertised as having a bathroom onboard, but when we arrived we received the information that the toilet was broken and that we would have to use the marina bathroom, a somewhat awkward situation for two women 55+ who generally have to use the restroom in the middle of the night. Also, the top bunk in the bunkroom had a mattress that was split down the middle lengthwise, if you rolled over in the middle of the night you would end up sleeping on a board. When the owner was contacted she said the problems would be fixed in October. We were promised a small refund for the inconvenience, but 3 months later, have not received anything.
Ideal for a planned fishing trip. Marina and boat have everything available for a pleasant stay. Other residents in marina are friendly and helpful. Overall assessment is excellent!
We had a great quick girls weekend. Slept three adults comfortably, the marina was quiet and well taken care off and in a great location. The boat was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. It was fun and I would recommend to anyone looking for a little adventure in their stay!
I stayed on the boat with my husband and 3 kids over the July 4 holiday for something different to do with the kids. It was within perfect walking distance to downtown Frankfort. The marina is nice and has extra bathrooms and showers if the boat is too cramped for you but, we didnât need to use them. The host was very friendly and wonderful with answering all of my questions ahead of time. Definitely recommend.
